Yes, the language is at times somewhat difficult to stay with, particularly if new to critical theorising. She is unpacking difficult concepts. However, the spirit of her writings are so generous and open. What she is attempting to do is put political theory on a different track away from the ontological realm and ground theory in social suffering and so much disparity. This is her way of making a contribution of thinking complexly about inequality and her critical insights are very humanist in orientation.
I attended a workshop led by McNay a few years ago. She's a very challenging theorist, and a very agreeable person.
S0chan & frances: If you haven't read Fraser's work on the concept of justice, as well as a bit of Arendt, Butler and Foucault, then you probably just don't get what she's commenting on, sorry.
She is so fab.
Yawn
The woman needs to get herself an education.
