The video was great. Honest, non-pretentious and passionate for sure. Love how the focus was more on non-main brand watches but more on the brands that arent as big. That reeeeks of true vintage love. But the killer part was when he talked about his kids' collection and stories. HES IN HES IN!
my kid is 4 and has a blaze monster truck watch and can tell the difference of s Rolex and a Breitling csn connect to Fred passion is always better when you can do it together with your kids.
Lume Shot, you zeroed in exactly on the two main things I liked about this piece. Especially how excited Fred Savage was when he realized his kids shared his passion. That is a gift.
I really appreciate how Fred treats his 5-year-old's collection with respect. They're all little fun novelty watches that probably cost like 10 bucks each but he treats it totally serious with no pretension. He says "he has a great avengers watch" in the same tone of voice and with the same sincerity as he describes his vintage Rolex. I really admire him for being so sincere and being so respectful of his son's interests and tastes, seems like a really good dad.
@Truthfears Guilty ... Thank you. I'm a collector myself, this type of collecting is better for the soul, it's good to be reminded of it to, in such a matialistic hobby.
What a great collection and huzzah, some real world watches that normal folks can afford! I love that we see the kids watches as well, one of the best episodes ever!
I have watched every talking watches since it started and this episode is in the top 3 by an absolute mile. Here are my reasons. 1. He is a humble and nice guy 2. He has wealth but is a "real" watch man as he buys what he likes and loves regardless of price 3. He's not bought anything to show off or show off his wealth like most people on Talking Watches 4. I'm sure he could buy very pricey watches he but he's not been obvious buying PN's etc...... 5. He's got his kids into it and that's so cool. 6. He has great reasons and stories for buying a watch. Not just "I signed a new contract and went out and bought a 100 grand Patek etc.....
Fred Savage is such a legend, I grew up to The Wonder Years and after all this time, the man has remained so cool! He has a great collection and I love how you guys included his kids watches!

This was the best episode of Talking Watches that I've seen in a long time. I found Fred Savage humble, genuine, and likable because he was so self-effacing about his status as a watch collector. His collection reflected a true love of vintage watches. I've already re-watched this episode 3 times because I found it so enjoyable. When not watching, I've been looking up information about the Helbros alarm and Gallet chronograph. And his kids' watch collections? Priceless.
Great to see Fred and that he is doing well. You can tell how much he loves the watches, by the way he brushes over the faces with his fingers. Love it!
This was my favorite because of how sensible and humble his collection was. Elgin, Illinois, Casio and pieces that whisper history and class without screaming out: LOOK AT ME, I'M SO RICH!!!! He has some expensive vintage pieces too, but he made sure to show watches that aren't the price of a house as well. Respect. Best video yet. Fred, you are a class act and I love your collection.

Yet again, more reason to like Fred Savage! As someone has stated, his collection speaks to a regular/working man’s reach and I feel somewhat giddy knowing that he owns a Black Bay much like me. I’m 44 and the passion has always been there, but it wasn’t till the last three years that I got serious with the hobby. Great video!
Fred. Princes Bride- Still one of my favorite movies. Ever! This episode of Hodinkee proves you were and still a class act!
More of these down to earth episodes please.
The best episode. Such a great well thought out collection. It's just fantastic that Fred Savage is into watch collecting. I have really enjoyed his work for years.
I really like Fred, seems like a great guy and wonderful collection too!
Fred has a true passion and it’s really nice to see how happy these watches make him. :)
I think this has been one of my favorite episodes...I love how humble Fred seems and his collection is fantastic. Thanks!
That's someone who hunts for value. I love it
Such a humble and genuine guy. Love his passion for this hobby 😊🙏
First time watching this channel and I give it an A+. It is SOOO comforting to know that the actor from Princess Bride and Wonder Years remained a humble and kind person.
A very sweet video, especially the kids part. Good to see Ben back!
Pure joy. I grew up like most of us watching him and it’s great to see these paths intersecting once again.
best talking watches episode ever!! Great to see how down to earth and enthusiastic Fred was when talking about watches. Also loved when he talk about his kids being into watches. Thanks for this Vid Hodinkee, made my day
this is up there with my favourite episodes! nice to see the family connection + the opening cinematic is beautiful
this put a huge smile on my face. Love it. great guy!
Ah, that's fabulous! So modest, humble and nothing pretentious. Great collection of watches and fabulous to see the kids' collections too. Well done Fred!
Probably the Talking watches I’ve enjoyed the most. Loved how he spoke about his children’s love of watches and their collections. Love his collection wasn’t just a table full of Rolex watches.
One of the best Talking Watches shows until now... Wow!!
That was a very special episode. What a great guy. What a great collection too. But an even better guy.
