Wuthering waves did a great job in making features that Genshin doesn't have, that will attract more players :)
If a game tries to attract attention not with its advantages, but with something that the competitor does not have, it is a failed game.

@@kogspence820 but hsr gameplay isn't fun. I think Wuthering wave is better than Genshin and hrs. Because it has gacha system similar to hsr and gameplay similar to Genshin and dark soul and the best part is i can handle that game. Perfect game that has everything i need it.

To be fair, in PGR characters have their own weapon type and not universal where you can use it on another character.

More like they aren't greedy. Their main profit from pgr are the skins and rightfully so. You can see the effort they put in them. And also the CN community is huge. Just from them alone they can make money to start wuthering waves

@blacksuitedsonic whales. Its where most of the money comes from anyways. Ur 100 every 3-6 aint shit to them. The whales want their e6 c6 now and they will spend spend spend. While you get to enjoy ur f2p a bit more leisurely with these helping hands. It also lets you get a little taste of the stronger constellations which may or may not entice you to spend on future units where you've exhausted most of ur in game resources to get constellations.

I play PGR and while they're generous with the free stuff, the powercreep and gameplay loop is bad unfortunately. Hopefully they fix this un WuWa
@@pillowhead4456If you play in CN server, the powercreep is not a problem. They added new gamemode where it’s no longer time constraints. You get points according to how well you play (dodge, parry, and doing combo)
Also powercreep was never a problem in pgr in the first place. Only people that should cared about powercreep should only be whale that compete for top rank in leaderboards. If you’re just some casual then stop complaining about powercreep

At least in GI and HSR they buff old characters with new ones like what Xianyun did with the entire melee characters. Meanwhile in PGR, every new characters meant to shine over the old ones. I still love the game but ignoring the powercreep is just dumb

The Leap system literally makes old character viable and can compete with new units. Also what's the point of complaining about powercreep character? Are you contributing to anything that would stop that? Every gacha game will inevitably have powercreep character no matter what. The way dev deals with that is buffing old character which is something PGR did but you seem to just ignored that part completely

Their banners in PGR are similar, and the pity for character event banners is only 60. They also got the 240 energy from HSR. They basically took all the best from popular Gacha games and merged them into their game. Also, I think you can grind at lower rates without using stamina.

I don’t understand how people don’t recognize that this is just good marketing. Gacha games (since most compete within the same two or three styles of gameplay) have so much competition that they have to be generous in order to keep your attention. Genshin has little to no competition so it doesn’t have to be anywhere close to generous. Generous gachas are gachas that know they can’t keep your attention otherwise.
Trust me, we know. We're just happy someone is FINALLY getting to the good marketing. We've gotten too many maybes-wait-no in the way.

Yes and? People do know it's good marketing to pull people in. Genshin too learned this from other gacha games and implemented pity and guarantee system. Back then, no gacha games have guarantee system thus Hoyoverse added it in. They were generous then, but many games are way generous now. Sadly, I don't think they can change their implemented gacha system because it's illegal if I'm not wrong. It would be amazing if the weapon banner is at least work the same way as the limited banner.
everyone understands this; they enter the field when there's a couple of really big, really popular companies running it, so of course they have to reel new players with things like this. it's a good thing they go so strong. i don't think mihoyo would do anything about the possible competitor on the market though as they seem to be too big of a deal, but competition is always good, and people are excited about it, it's not that everybody's naive or anything like that they're companies that want to make money. the end goal is the same for all such games

PGR also had the same mechanic where you can actually farm the shards of the character that you own its good thing they didn't remove it in Wuthering waves

@@Nightshade860 nah, not really. I don't see anyone ever mention this but Event Character, Weapon Character, and Standard Banner; all these three have different currency or "wishes". You can buy 6 of them every month. So it's possible to earn some as f2p so you can get at least one.
And also, to answer your question: NO, the weapons are just extras. In WW, as you progress and level your UL or AR in Genshin, the bosses will be difficult, be more aggressive, and more precise with their attacks. So what you'll be needing more is skill, not stats. There are great 4 stars, some are craftable and some are obtained inevitably when you pull for the gacha. At UL45, you are rewarded a selector for the Standard Weapons(unlike the Free Ayaka at some game I don't remember lol). So rest assured, you can clear any content as long as you're good enough👍
@@Nightshade860 pulling for weapons are not a bad decision too, so long as they're for your favorite character because in WW any character is a good character that you can use to clear the game, and though not yet sure, I'm confident to say that newer characters won't replace the earlier ones. They'll just make new characters that play differently than the rest to provide something more for the players to enjoy.
We were expecting this though because PGR had the same system with 100% guarantee on character banners, and on weapon banner you can pick which weapon you want at any time and it's an 80% chance you get that weapon you picked when you get an S rank.
So Wuthering Waves making the weapon 100% instead of 80/20 is actually even better than what PGR has, which is crazy considering how good PGR's system already is.
The pulling system is quite similar to PGR, the characters and weapons are separated and you could pick any specific characters or weapons you want to get

Amazing feature, but all I ask is that no one goes shoving down that this game is now absolutely better than Genshin. Both have their own pros and cons, and just because a game gives more free stuff doesn't make it better. If that was the logic, just make a game that gives free currency despite its absolutely trash design.

People need to understand that this weapon banner is COMMON for MANY gacha games. It's not "genshin could never" its "genshin don't have to"

If u want 2 build a standard character u would have 2 spend ur pulls on the weapon banner
in genshin, you could get unlucky and not get a 5 star weapon at all or even if you do, its not guaranteed to be the weapon u are looking for, in WuWa atleast you are guaranteed the weapon you want, which is better

@@roxas5071 well from where I stand I've played many enough games that these mechanics and gameplay seem boring to me so the only thing that could make me wanna play this game is the story.
Like I never enjoyed cod gameplay after playing first 2 parts but the story was worth giving the time.
Like Genshin brought fresh reactions to gameplay which I had experienced on a small scale like water killing fire kind of basic things, but Genshin did it on a full scale as its core mechanics and that is what seems fun to me where ur abilities interact with each other to make a new ability.
Hope more games with reactions and interactive gameplay come out in the future.
Wuwa is just gonna be a casual no brainer combat for me when I just wanna really play some combat which genshin doesn't have becz lack of content.

i have honestly never played games likd wuwa, i played pgr and hi3 but didnt like them, and i played dmc which i enjoyed but ended up quitting due to lag
so idk if im just not a fan of combo heavy games but the genshin combat system always keeps me entertained, the reaction system is basically unlimited with the amount of compositions you can do, bur you arent forced to use reactions eithers since you can just do a hypercarry teams

As for wuwa well it's more of a mirror image of tower of fantasy than it is genshin.

Heck I can't even watch my watch later list, so it's obvious I would be forced to pick one among them both and I wouldn't choose something I've already played.
Anyways I don't think I called it casual, I just said wuwa was more like the older games being remade with mechanics from games that were iconic in their era.
So yeah a person with limited time in the day such as me would only want something refreshing than copy.

Dmc is a triple AAA game and can't argue on that, it's a really original and great game.
Unlike a copy cat like wuwa, genshin also feels original even with similarities with Zelda it's nothing like that when u actually play the combat so it's fun really

Buying constellation is not good, it kills the joy of pulling a character or losing one. It is still beta only.

So far, genshin feels better to me. Story is good in genshin, and so far mid to horrible in WuWa. Bo suspence, and it basically told you everything in the first 5 acts. Gameplay is better, but Exploration wise, its just kinda boring. And im not really baiesd towards genshin, infact i was hyped towards WuWa, but it just didnt hit for me so far. Optimization is also just abyssmal, my Laptop just barely manages to run it on the lowest possible settings, while Genshin goes smooth on good settings (primarly because you can set resolution to like 0.6 and i could run it with everything else at max). Story might change if i get farther, but so far, it feels like a genshin clone with better combat, and thats more generous towards players than genshin.

Something that I thought was a myth is all in Wuthering Waves, It's Awesome 🥳
They took the good parts about honkai, genshin and tower of god and put into one game. Well tower of fantasy still has the most generous gacha system. You dont lose pity if you pull a 5 star before hitting pity so basically you can guarantee 2 5 stars in 80 pulls which is crazy.

The wuthering waves strategy is now just pull all the 5 star u want and save the currency to buy constellations when they rerun 😂
It's litterally not a waste of you spam the character banners everytime you can now.
U can also buy event weapon banner currency with this games equivalent of starglitter
And it only works on the event banner so u can save for weapons without feeling bad for not spending the wishs on characters
Ive been suggesting a special battlepass store that whenever you reach the weekly limit or bp 50, any unusable bp exp get converted into a currency that you can use in a "bp shop" there they could have 5* cons, limited weapons that wont appear anymore like tighnaris bow or dehyas claymore. Stuff like that. It would give people a reason to keep doing bp tasks every week even after 50.
Finally genshin getting some competition
Playing in-game currency for cons reminds me of Barbara cons you could buy in monstadt in the beta

I ended up getting her twice in the beginner pull, thinking of pulling kakarrot for my choice banner and jianxin for the selector pack
Nikke does it too, you can focus characters on the normal banner and when you recruit, you earn tickets that can be used to buy cores ( = a character)
C6 in future will be easyer, thats insane. But idk if the pity saves to the next banner in the weapon banner

In PGR they have Pet System on top of the weapon, during release of a new chara the exclusive pet is 100% then go down to 70% after that and weapon is always 80% but need half the pull to get than chara while in Wuwa it is 100% but take the same amount of pull so yea
