I am impressed with your video. I got my 3 1/2" Cimarron 38/9mm birds head a week ago, 12/2024 I struggled with changing the cylinders until I called the customer support. Their help solved my problem. Your video has given me direction into very safe loading procedure. I was aware of the two-position cylinder rod, but did not have a clue until you explained the proper use. I am now a subscriber!
I just pick up my 1873 and had one hell of a time getting the base pin out. It seems as though the spot in between the 2 positions. Safety and no safety has some rough edges to where the pin would get stuck. After some light smoothing it works great! Other than that little thing love the gun!
Uberti incorporated a first-click hammer safety which allows six rounds to be safely carried because the safety prevents the firing pin from contacting a round's primer. Uberti gave us an 1873 replica that's actually a six shooter.
Better yet Uberti incorporated a firing pin safety now. They now have a free floating firing pin enabling you to load six and safely rest the hammer all the way down without touching a primmer.
Original Colt 73 army's were designed to be carried fully loaded under the "First Click position as well. Its in the original Manuals and has been lost, to ignorance by most in recent times.
You're right! But the one draw-back is for Colt purists,You have to live with three clicks on the hammer instead of 4. Not a big issue for me! But Colt fanatics demand 4 clicks.Suffer the little children. LOL
Not all Uberti SA revolvers have that same safety feature. So be aware of each action’s features ! There are several. The best feature is your choice of the option to carry 5, Hammer down on an empty chamber. It is comforting !
Forgot to add, Great gun, got same in 357, 44 mag, 44-40 & 45lc, love the birds head. Favorite gun right after the Remington 1875. Great Vid, good job, informative 👍🏼🤠
all 2017- models now have that floating firing pin that allows you to carry 6 but only 3 clicks. If you want this 4 click get an old Uberti, a Colt or a Pietta.
Watched again and just noticed, it appears you have the 4” or 5” barrel on yours, mine all have the 3 1/2l barrel, easier to conceal carry. And as far as the safety believe it’s been that way since the 1873, original Colts had them, maybe not the spring loaded, that might be Uberties contribution. Again nice job.
Hi from CA, I don't no where in Tex your from but my dad was from San Antonio, may God rest his soul. Love the cowboy guns. I know you getting away from the Glocks, I got 2 the 19g3 30sf and Smith 19 .357 and Smith m42 snubby circa 1953 aluminum kicks like a mule on 38sp. And a pm380 kahr. Peace Man and good luck and God bless you and your family in Jesus's name. Rei.
I carry mine with six in the cylinder and the hammer in the first notch. That first notch is plenty stout enough to handle a strike or being dropped. There are videos of people hitting the hammer with a hammer and proving the point.
Own two of them, one 44-40 other 45LC, also Heritage Birds head in 22, love that style, also own 1/2 regular grip colt clones, all have that safety, not true to original colts, but added later to all western six shooters (clones) 🤠
Theres a lot of vids about quality problems with Uberti....shipping out ...dont work properly...so im out on a limb....The price isnt cheap here in Canada...so leaning toward Ruger...
My 2nd Cimarron . Very informative as this is completely different than my " Pistolero " . I believe yours is a " Uberti and the ""Pistolero " is Pietta ? Both are very nice , always thought the birdshead was slightly smaller .
Dress the part???, every morning I get up I pull on my boots (the only foot wear I own), leave the house, even just to pick up the mail or feed the cat, I put on my hat (cowboy, American Hat Co or a Resistol, both Texas companies). God Bless Texas ❤️👍🏼🤠
hello from dallas im a big fan i wanted to ask a question how you get a gun license so i can buy one i got no criminal record n im 21 . do i sing up online???
Drunken Dovahkiin no go to your local gun shop and sign up for a class for a LTC license to carry.. and take baby steps into owning a gun remember a gun is a serious tool so be responsible brother hope to here you got one have a good one
Would be awesome if safety switch would disengage when hammer was pulled to full cock Now have a pair of these in 38 and 3.5 inch barrels Thanks for the info
How much did you pay for that! That could be my next open carry gun. They think all of us where hats boots and carry a six shooter anyway. Very nice gun bro.
Good video, if you drop the hammer on the base pin, it is possible to bend the end and is a bitch to get out. there is a video where a guy did that. i was surprised because i figured that pin would be harder than that.
Anyone that knows single action revolvers will tell you when your loading 6 you block the hammer travel with your thumb so if the hammer drops the firing pin will not have contact with the cartridge primer. But as a general safety tip it is not a good idea to carry this type of revolver with a cartridge under the hammer
Don't forget the actual hammer block built into the quarter sear on the hammer. That pin safety is decent for loading, but the hammer block is for the holster.
I am impressed with your video.

Splendid guns. I always load my one (Cattleman I) with 6 rounds because there is the safety device in the hammer. Just like this one.

The case hardened finish is awesome! The Italians making American excellence.
If I could push the like button 25 times I would I thought I knew all about the singles. Lesson learned 👍👍
It’s not “the John Wayne Load”. That’s just the correct way to carry SAA pistols and goes all the way back to the 1870’s
I've had one of these for 25 years and never knew about the safety option. Thanks.
thats scary.
Great feature for a six shooter. Love the Birds head model. Thank you for sharing.
I own a .38 spec that's an 1873 rep and had no idea why they put 2 notches on the cylinder pin until now ty for this

Nice looking pistol. I just bought the Uberti CMS Pro in 45 Colt with the birds head grip.
Interesting! Great video. You just sold me on Uberti for SA revolvers. Thank you!

I love my 58 Remmy and open carry it in gud ol Dallas Tx👍
I just learned something new about a gun that I already have, thank you very much
Very welcome
It's not a pistol. A pistol is a self-loading handgun. This is a revolver. Just trying to help a Texan sound smarter. Thanks
Nice video. Beautiful gun!
I stand corrected on saftey using it as you demonstrated. I have same gun in 45. awesome gun.
Davo 1 I just figured it out on my own.. did you contact the manufacturer or something ? Thanks for coming back
Thanks for the video - I didn't know about the safety. Now I'm even more convinced to buy this gun! Put it in a cross-draw for my Cowboy shoots.
The original Colt version was actually a DA/SA gun back in the day!
Wow, I had no idea you could do that! She's a beauty, no doubt about it!
H&Ks until the end of days! She's a looker for sure

Thanks for representing our Great State!! Looking forward to some AK vids! I just bought my Arsenal late last year in part because of you! Thanks
PersistALL that's awesome brother congrats on the purchase
BEAUTIFUL replica!
yes I fell in love instantly ... thanks boss

That is one great looking pistol my friend! I LOVE the bird head grip and shooting 38's will be fun all day long.
ThunderMountain Tactical yup I love ❤️ it too.. it carrys so great
That's a Fine looking revolver..Good info/video Ovi
rls303 thanks bro good seeing you in the comments
interesting my Uberti BP version of this revolver doesn't have that feature I believe. Cannot press the pin in.
I carry mine with six in the cylinder and the hammer in the first notch. That first notch is plenty stout enough to handle a strike or being dropped. There are videos of people hitting the hammer with a hammer and proving the point.

lovely weapon!!!
Thanks for the tip
Fun fact... the first click is a safe option. On 4 click models.
there's another safety on the hammer itself
Dress the part???, every morning I get up I pull on my boots (the only foot wear I own), leave the house, even just to pick up the mail or feed the cat, I put on my hat (cowboy, American Hat Co or a Resistol, both Texas companies). God Bless Texas ❤️👍🏼🤠
Nice. I'm thinking about getting a Cimmaron Pistolero in 357/38spl in the same finish. I like the Italian replicas better than Ruger's.
Cleetis McDougall buyer beware tbh I had issues with a screw coming out by just handling it.. good luck bud
Can you tell me exactly what that gun is? I would like to get one like it.
Nice Revolver Great Info On It.
derplinkster thank you I am very pleased with my purchase
Welcome Bro ,Hey Have you tried The Perfecta in .38 special yet.
derplinkster I have not will try it out soon
TEXAS PISTOLERO Cool If They Show Up In Your Area Only Seen Reviews Never Tried Them Personally.
Modernize a classic design Nice
smilemoney it's a cool pistol
I am getting it in 357 because the 45 colt ammunition is just too expensive to afford to practice a lot with
Get into casting bullets and reloading both.....it's really fun and cost effective.
does this gun have a transfer bar saftey? I also heard something about it having a retractable firing pin?
Older ones have a transfer bar, the new ones have a retracting firing pin. His is a newer one, you can see the firing pin on the hammer.
great video
Wow didnt know about that cylinder pin safety.
I've got the Thunderer in 45 Colt.I like the recessed grip on that one because it fits my hand better than this one.
hello from dallas im a big fan i wanted to ask a question how you get a gun license so i can buy one i got no criminal record n im 21 . do i sing up online???

TEXAS PISTOLERO thanks for your time
Drunken Dovahkiin no problem don't forget to hit the like
You don't need a license to purchase a gun.
Would be awesome if safety switch would disengage when hammer was pulled to full cock
Now have a pair of these in 38 and 3.5 inch barrels
Thanks for the info
Nice
How much did you pay for that! That could be my next open carry gun. They think all of us where hats boots and carry a six shooter anyway. Very nice gun bro.
Patrick Kamer yes I paid 535.00 out the door and the guy gave me 2 boxes of ammo cool ppl at Ranger Firearms in San antonio texas
That so called "safety" will get you killed. I pulled my rod out and ground the back off so it doesn't protrude, then load only 5.
Good video, if you drop the hammer on the base pin, it is possible to bend the end and is a bitch to get out. there is a video where a guy did that. i was surprised because i figured that pin would be harder than that.
Why 5 rounds

But as a general safety tip it is not a good idea to carry this type of revolver with a cartridge under the hammer
🤠🔫🇨🇱 oh Yeah
It take you a long time to explain a simple function that can be found in the manual.
please help sir
Drunken Dovahkiin I hope that helped
Yea, that's not a safety. It's a design flaw.
all italian made colt clones have that "safety" feature as well a very high rate of misfires due to poor production.
Don't forget the actual hammer block built into the quarter sear on the hammer. That pin safety is decent for loading, but the hammer block is for the holster.
Great video
