This guy has a vision if you've watched him from day one and how he drove that coffee shop idea its the blueprint for success. He took a calculated risk and its paying off.
Scratching my head here 6 months ago you made a vid saying u were skint and you might have to go back to U.K. Now you’ve bought properties and spending money like no tomorrow? Something strange here. 🤔
This guy is dangerous. “Just do it” is what Patrick and Martin did ……the two guys he interviewed and vlogged a couple of years ago. Both of them had to leave Thailand because their money ran out. Don’t “just do it” without having funds in place to sustain yourself.
You are basically subletting somebody's property and spending your own money on it. Needs to be good profit and a decent contract as the landlord can end up being the only winner.
Full retirement in america is 67, govt planning on moveing it up to 70, how many live to 70, most people i know work there self to death and by 60 your in the ground.
I like what you guys are doing to the coffee garden looks great. The house plan looks good too. You are giving very good advice about retirement. I’ll be 80 in August (I’m a male in USA). I owned a pharmacy and my wife started running it about halfway through Covid and I kind of retired because I got Prostrate cancer. I went through all the treatments and I’m “cured”. Problem is I still have my back problem which got a lot worst. I was a person always doing something but now I can barely move, can’t walk 200 feet and have zero energy. I’m a car person that was always in the car and now I’m lucky to get out on a small outing once a week. I had big plans about closing the pharmacy and spending a month or two in Thailand. Now I can’t even walk to the gate at the airport so how do I expect to roam around the street food or malls. I can’t. So do it while you can. I my case I degraded in weeks not months or years. Do it while you can. 🤠❤️
Another interesting video. About your second holiday let, if you want to keep it natural and to fit in with the surroundings and not look out of place, maybe consider bamboo fencing.
Richie love ye channel mate but please STOP 🛑 it’s not yours mate stop throwing money away mate. What coming round the corner is going to stop the world yet again. So do yourself a favour get ye head together and stop spending mate.
Watching since he was unsteadily hoping things go well... Richie and Maybelle have a rare consideration and have love for each other .. life aint easy .. wish you both healthy life ❤
Good Video Richie and Maybelle 😊. I'm now 64, been a single parent for a long time. Been taking care of my children and helping others all my life. And Yes, Life is truly to short. I told my children that I am moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭 this year. It's sink or swim Time. Children these days think that they are Entitled and get everything for free. Time to contribute to society and be responsible. Hopefully I will live 20 years 🙏 so I can enjoy and relax for me. Will come to Thailand 🇹🇭 for any medical issues and visit you and other Vloggers. Live like tomorrow could be your last day. ✨️ Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
Thanks for the kick up the butt your right about middle age putting things off 🙏😊just as a matter of interest what you use for your videos as in camera sound as it v good, all the best
I’ve retired toThailand from Boston at 65 3 months ago. We are currently traveling to different areas and beaches looking for the place to settle. We’ll be in hua hin tha month of July then on to Phuket at rawai beach for the month of august. We’ve been watching your Chanel and plan to visit maybelles garden. Looking forward to seeing you both.
You have the right business plan, take over the area you are in,or build it and they will come, the more people that know where your at im sure your business will double in the next year. As I always tell people in business, run your business, don't let your business run you, and always make time for each other, keep going, when I come back I hope I can stay permanently.
Hey guy's congrats with the businesses. Been here from day 1 and seen you grow into a successful team. Chok dee for the future! I left that film running and got on with something else 🤣
U don’t need to buy tuning machines r weights u should lookup elastic bands the come in different sizes and they will give u good work out for people who r they for a short time I think ur ideas r good 😊😊the amount of food maybe eats but she looks in great shape that could be something to look up
Richie I am going to disagree with you. I am 64 and would love to live in Thailand. First off there is the 40k USD you must keep in a Thai bank to retire. No that many people have $40k saved up and can just let it set in a bank. Then there is the idea if it all fall you can just go back. I got a new job at 55 it was not easy I can almost guarantee you if I went looking for a job at 64 it would almost be impossible to get hired. Most think you are over the hill at 60. Then of course there is money you need to live on, some can live on 1500 dollars a month. Not much of a life for me. So i need to maximize my benefits. I first moved to Thailand when I was 39 and stayed for 3 years. it was great. Wish I had no left. Not so easy to make the jump now. There are no do overs at 64. Last thing I want is to be deports broke and homeless back to my home country at 64 or more.
Ok, before we start all the business talk, I just want to say next time I am visiting Thailand I am gonna be bringing garbage tweezers, I usually like to take some long walks in the mornings, and I might as well pick up and fill a bag with garbage/plastic on my way. Last time I was there actually inquired about some tweezers in some local DIY shops, but couldn't find any, so next time I will bring my own.
More and more people who have retired are going away from Thailand because of the UK state pension if you move to Thailand you loose your increase in pension every year but if you go to Philippines you get the increase stinks really
@@rammay9383 Way less immigration issues, you can stay on tourist visa extensions for 3 years, fly out for 1 day and do it all again for another 3 years 🙂
Hi Richie, really always enjoy your videos, been watching you and Maybelline from the start...who's building them condo's across from you coffee shop?...might be Russian lol!..don't let them offer you a deal you can't refuse 😉 lol!...take care and a thumbs up!...safe safe and take care!
In your face ha ha. It's good that you speak out what most people prefer to ignore. Life is not given, it's a precious gift, it can end any time. The future does not exist, the past does not exist. We only live now and it should be just experienced, without worries about possible negtavive outcomes. Instead just live, try, fail, try, love, be kind, be greatful for the journey.
Do you have any provisions for laundry in that under house area? Especially imp9ortant ion a beach community that sand and sea water does not make it into the house proper. Drive in, drop laundry hit the washer button and go up stairs to change. Congrats on the Driver's License. Was it a difficult road test?
You have your life expectancy stats very wrong. The UK office of national statistics has an online calculator, compiled from uk death stats. I use it for my work. Go take a look.
Hi Rich ,met you a couple of times . could you tell me name of that restaurant in Phuket town - large outdoor area and car park facilities you visited past few weeks and were impressed. Also can you recommend any quality hotels for short term in beach area karon or kata. Thanks Bruce (Australia)
i disagree. There is a huge delta between people who take care of themselves and those who dont. diet, exercise, stress all play a huge role. statistically, a fat guy who drinks, eats garbage, is not physically active, and is stressed out will die "young" compared to a guy who gets bloodwork every 6 months, optimizes diet and exercise, has an active lifestyle, and has no stress in his life. be active, be healthy, be happy and you will outlive your peers.
I live over in Pattaya and want to start a French Crepes business. I made them in the US and no one does it here. I just need a work permit or a Thai wife!

You might want to consider potential liability of providing an ice water plunge for customers. Sudden cold water immersion can cause cardiac arrest in even healthy individuals.
I totally agree with you about the age thing and take my hat off to in the way you have set out your plans to do things now and not put off. You have set out with your goals and are doing a amazing job keep it up mate 👍 well done 👏

Yes 100%
It’s so inspiring to watch.
And he did I with his UK credit card as the finance. Balls on the line and it’s paid off. Respect to him for giving it a shot
it's his wife that made it all possible for him in Thailand. he's there on marriage visa. more credit to his thai wife
I only hope the partnership is very solid and lasts forever 🙏🍷😊

@@jefftaylor8584 Fair play. But if he sub-letting why is he renovating the place. Seems odd.

Don’t “just do it” without having funds in place to sustain yourself.
I remember he said before he had a couple of rental properties in U.K. So he’s probably not risking as much as everyone thinks.
You never know until you try, worst case you can always go home… can’t live your life being scared of failing.
How long is your lease? I’d be hesitant making so many upgrades to a property you’re just renting.
You are basically subletting somebody's property and spending your own money on it. Needs to be good profit and a decent contract as the landlord can end up being the only winner.
As far as the rental, put nice king size bed in bedroom, jacuzzi in back of house with privacy, and ill rent it!
