"It's like that voice wouldn't come out of that guy." - Beavis
🤣 I remember that sentence
+The Blakk Bronco: I was thinking of that too.
smart guy that beavis
Hey Beavis a dead horse!
Sounds like it would come out of his butt.
Fear, Emptiness, Despair turns 25 years old, one of the best Napalm's album and incredibly depressive
May well be my favourite ever ND platter... CLASSIC!!!!
totally agree
@@hellishfucker3635 YES!!!!!
Dam straight a beast of an album 🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favorite, kills all the way through
I discovered Napalm Death while in high school in 2006. My uncle had to make space in his CD collection so he pointed me to the box of CDs he had just cleared out and said take whatever you like. Me being a teenager with basically no money it felt like a gold mine. I flipped through the box and taking out whatever looked interesting. Among the ones i picked out was Napalm Death - Fear, Emptiness, Despair. While home and getting a chance to listen to it, it wasn't music i was very much into at the time but i was still impressed. It felt like a new frontier had been broken open. Fear, Emptiness, Despair became one of those milestone albums that i cherish today.
Fear, emptiness, despair is my personal favourite ND album. Sounds timeless in its production
Heavy- dark and machine like in its precision. Brought it when it first came out and it made a huge impact. Still holds up well some 27 years later.
One of the most powerfuls extreme bands. This guys are incredibles.
Exactly... Obrigado
Awesome band bro...
Easily their best album! The first five tracks are absolutely INSANE
Napalm´s rifts always got me, I just go crazy.
This album has one of the most amazing guitar tones I've ever heard and sounds like literally nothing anyone else has ever put out.
In fact it sounds like nothing else that ND themselves ever put out.
It is in a class all its' own. And I love it for that.
was this album with late Jesse Pintado, i think so. He was also with legendary Terrorizer.
@@kjelljohanasheimsolli8822Yes this album has Jesse Pintado. One of the most underrated guitar players ever along with Mitch Harris.
@jeffb.6642 Agreed. Not even Napalm themselves reached the tone and production afterwards that they got here. Truly a classic underrated album.
One of my favourite napalm death and death metal songs, barneys roars are insane 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is album in 2021 is fresh as a daisy. Undisputed classic, I never get tired of it. Great for working out.
true, It grew from an ok album 10 years ago to my favorite ND album today :D P.S. every ND album is good for working out :D
Lyrics:
Scale the inferno, take it all in
Am I right or wrong, or just confused?
Glamorized, dare I say it?
Fantasized, but through who's eyes?
Not theirs, that's for sure!
Rebuff beliefs that we've lost.
A plague rages in all our hearts.
Am I the last in line?
To stop and turn, and pretend that we're really changing.
I'd sooner DIE!...
I'm shit with interpreting lyrics. Does anyone have an explanation/interpretation of these?
@@MoltiSanti Haha, an amazing amount of poetry and philosophy that always goes into these Napalm songs, isn't it? I think the person describing this sees something terribly amiss with the world around them, and his species in particular. I think they have a point. We seem to be stuck in a vicious cycle where we keep collectively buckling to the same pitfalls over and over again. I came back to this song because of its relevance toward current events. This whole record hails from a time when metal was innovating as hell, and getting groovier by the minute. I recommend "Diatribes" too, severely underrated. Very extreme stuff thematically. Take care now!
@@frankdiehl8749 Indeed! This is one of the very first death metal/grind songs I've ever seen and listened to back in the day, and one of my favorite Napalm Death songs, so it holds a special place in my heart. I'm just not a very lyrically driven person. And yeah, I came back to it as well thanks to the current "plague", lol.
@@MoltiSanti "everything sucks and people are shitty."

Napalm Death! 🍻🤘🏾😵 90’s Grindcore King
Used to have a fear emptiness despair hoodie; wore it till it fell to bits; hail to thee napalm death; still got this on cassette!
Fear, Emptiness, Despair , one of the best Napalm's album
Napalm Death doesn't get enough love these days (they never actually got enough love in the past either imo).
I feel that. And many of those who give them love write off the 90’s output. I can enjoy everything they’ve done. Diatribes was a little awkward maybe, but still good in my opinion, and the innovation and cohesiveness of Inside the Torn Apart and Words from the Exit Wound are largely ignored. This one even gets flack from some people for its departure from what they had been doing, and that’s just insane to me. Great heavy stuff. The Lee Shane Mick and Bill days were truly something special, but Shane Barney Jesse Dan and Mitch made some really unique and heavy records too. I love Lee’s Sakevi from GISM kinda thing he had going on, but there’s something real satisfying about Barney’s vocals to me. I love a lot of death metal, but even with bands I love, the vocals can sound pretty forced. Barney’s fuckin roar sounds more natural, and it’s awesome that he can make the words discernible while doing that. And his mix of more clean vocals with the roar in the 90s records is great to me. Napalm forever! Stay rockin!
@@benjaminhehemann8392 I love their latest album a lot.
totally agree
But some bands / genres are all about being the outsider / underdog.
Better less than a mess. They have a legion of which I'm proudly part of.. Will try to never miss their shows again
My fav. Napalm Album, and Plague Rages is very RELEVANT 🙊🙀🙀💀
It didn't exactly rage, it was more like staged. Build back better. New Normal. Stay safe. Etc.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
@@thursoberwick1948 plague Stages/ I get that Feeling too!!! 911 attacks. Another Investigation is needed!!! You are an intelligent individual. On the Musical side [ Napalm was ripped off by so many bands!!!!] They Started that sound. [ imho]
I fell in love with the guitar sound...
This album was so fucking smothering back in the day.
I was there!! Where were you in 1994?
@@anthonyevans1233 I was 15 and totally consumed by death metal and grindcore. Still am to this very day.
REST IN PEACE JESSE PINTADO
This album was somewhat new after their grind core stuff. However, still relevant and out of the ordinary. Classic.
Blasting this while self isolating
I know that. It’s a bitch.
This track is a controlled pressure release to me.
So brutal and rage escaping.
Still blasting and still self isolating
Why are you complying

Maybe it's by choice(I mean, the plandemic HAS shown us that most humans are just a bunch of cowardly sheep that love to follow the herd instead of common sense & logic).

This is essentially a bolt thrower song
@@2000Doriyas you’re missing the point metal dude
3:08 Since i listen this song in the 90´s never forget this part!!! 2020 and still love it!
They should play this song live!!! Such a classic banger!
one of the best Napalm's album
THE BEST!
Such an awesome tune! Fear, emptiness, despair a short description of our time.
I never thought about the title that way... How depressingly right you are :D
A plague rages...in all our hearts! Napalm Death forever in all my heart.
this is the song that introduced a lowly 14 year old suburban kid to blast beats more than 27 years ago. thanks rock video monthly!!
I can't stop thinking of Beavis and Butthead commenting on this song every time I hear it.
that makes you butthead
Lol. That voice just doesn't match that dude..
Just watching beavis n butthead and youtubing all the videos they're watching

The Grooooove! YESSSS!
Best grindcore band
Terrorizer is u should check them out if you havent. Napalm Death is cool indeed, and I think the late and great guitarist Jesse Pintado was on this album, he also was in the band Terrorizer, and with the bestest drummer Pete The Feet Sandoval, and their legendary album World Downfall.
Amazing. Classic Napalm Death.
3:35 brutality
Man this is brutal
The blast beat better than my antilockbreaks in my hyundai
Driving in snow
Somthing bout this. I met the drummer not even knowing who he was. Was the best. Hands like dead lock
Small man but strong
Fun fact about this video is that Barney did not record his video parts with the rest of the band because he was scared of flying, so they were recorded separately.
Utopia banished para my ,su mejor álbum, sigue siendo my banda favorita ...🤘🤘💪
Fear, Emptiness, Despair was designed to PUNISH
MARAVILHOSO! A banda diz não curtir muito, mas FED é um dos meus álbuns favoritos do ND.
We survived with Napalm death!
Hopefully Earache is going to reissue this record this year
fear emptiness despair is already remastered in 2012 :)
@@shadowbroker6663 not on vinyl unfortunately
Grandpa Grindcore. The original and still the best for over thirty years.
man the guitar tone/distortion on this song and the rest of the FED album is like sex to my ears and I don't know of any other band that sounds even remotely like it
Was it the late Jesse Pintado on guitar on this album, think so, he was great and also on one of the bestest albums all time -World Downfall by Mighty but sadly now finished bandproject (so far anyway.?) -Terrorizer.
Danny Herrera on drums is a fucking tank
The first Three napalm death albums with Barney are the best!
Agreed. My favorite 3 trifecta
I always wondered how they hooked up with Danny Herrera, according to the Metal Archives he's only ever played with N.D. I'm going to assume that because of his last name that Jesse brought him in? But did he ever play in an other band that had blast beats?
He was from LA and jammed with the LA bands at the time like Sadistic Intent. Jesse recommended him for the band after Mick left.
Выдающаяся группа!
Факт! \м/
Bloody hell!!!! Looove it!!
It doesn't sound like this voice would come out of this guys head
It might come out of his butt.

One of the best Napalm songs. I screamed the title at the top of my lungs at one show and barney looked up astonished and said "well we didnt plan on it but I think that scream deserves the effort" and they jumped right into it. I nearly shit myself lol

One of the Bands which accompany me my whole life since "scum"
I don't know I just feel it's important for me to leave a message here in 2023; be 'funny' if it was humanities last year of peace.
I 1st recorded this on video tape off Headbanger's Ball in 1995 or so. The blast being mixed so loud wondered my mind and I could'nt connect it as being the snare drum aswell. That blast seemed so fast and impossible then.
this is pure death metal
Pure grindcore
cant understand the lyrics without chucking it on google
