    a good way to get a random join look is to use the cutoff from the previous boards to start the next row.

    Always enjoy your videos, you explain everything very clear and easy to follow. In the process of a renovation. Our floor, put down new plywood and decided to use a sheet floor, meaning one solid piece. It actually looks the same as yours.
    All cabinets, benches etc were removed so the one solid sheet worked well. Thanks for your info. Really enjoy watching.

    Any issues with the floor moving around after driving since it’s not glued in place?

  • @stever6986
    @stever6986 3 года назад +1

    First, it looks great...but my question is, why did you decide to put the new flooring over the old flooring? Was it because the old flooring extended under the cabinets and you didn't want to remove the cabinets to remove the old flooring/linoleum? I was thinking I may have to remove the flooring in my pop-up before putting in new flooring because it is peeling up on some of the edges, but I need to doublecheck if it extends under the cabinets.

    • @ItsPoppin

    HI, I have listening to a lot of your videos, Even what not to do when buying used and what to watch for. But I consider myself pretty handy, I bought a 2010 Jayco 1206 , trailer seems not to have leaks, all canvas and vinyl has no visual of water stains or the aluminum rook or sidings, over all is pretty clean and great condition for the exception of the floor.
    But I took a risk on purchasing it for really cheap (3,000.00} considering I can redo the floor, seems that previous owner was showering inside and the floor around the shower is mostly gone. Do you have a good video on how to replace the floor ? Thank you!

    Tiling the cupboards isn't a crazy thing to do!
    Nothing looks worse then not doing it.
    Trimming the corner beads back to the height of the trim molding really makes a difference too.

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  3 года назад

      Good call on the corner beads, we will have to try that next time. For the tiling, we picked up some cheap peel and stick and we just didn't like it, so that may have been the problem. Next time we will look for some higher quality stuff.

    We have an 05 camper like yours. How thick can the flooring be? My brother has some but its 7mm thick.

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  2 года назад

      That’s a little on the thicker side. However, it all depends on if the bottom side of the cabinet doors or drawers clear the flooring when you try to open them with the new flooring under them.

    • @mrs.ktpage10
      @mrs.ktpage10 2 года назад

      @@ItsPoppin it looks like our biggest issue will be the slide. That's our smallest "gap" if you will. Our last pop up was a 88 coleman so this 05 is like a spaceship comparatively speaking. It's very overwhelming.

    We just got a 2011 coachman clipper, and one of the things I noticed once I got it home was - sort of in the middle of the floor as you walk inside, and in front of the sink/stovetop - there’s a significant soft spot. But I don’t think it’s water damage. Seems more like just ware and tear. I plan on putting new flooring down but was wondering if you had any suggestions or recommendations on how to reinforce that softish spot? Thanks :)

    Why do you add the 1/4 inch gap near the cabinets instead on going well the way to the wall?

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  3 года назад +2

      It's vinyl plank flooring, which is a "floating floor" so it moves. This is especially important in the pop up because it moves and flexes so much. The gap, in theory, allows the floor to move slightly without buckling.

  • @reynasalazar48
    @reynasalazar48 4 года назад +1

    How’s the floor holding down with all the movement that a pop up gets? Redoing mine but don’t know if should go with this or self adhesive, thanks!

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  4 года назад +3

      I don't know as we sold it - lol. However, in our starcraft, it has on the whole held up very well. However, it had shifted about 1/4 inch in the area where the flooring slides under the slide out. Not too big of a deal as your can just slide it back under the quarter round. Additionally, this probably wouldn't an issue if you don't have a slide out.
      The only reason we haven't done peel and stick or at least not tested it yet is because peel and stick cannot withstand the same temperature range as click together.

    • @reynasalazar48
      @reynasalazar48 4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback, exactly my thoughts too, since we park ours outside and sometimes it’s super hot out here I’m afraid of the peel back, thank u!
