    I saved for almost a year to buy my Kanile’a KSE-T. I absolutely love that instrument! Every time I open the case I feel blessed to have one. The fact that they plant a tree for each sale was a factor when I chose them.

    Thank you for this video, Katie! It was neat to see the Kaniel'a factory and to hear your interview with Joe and Kristen. Feeling like I know the owners and hearing about their priorities definitely makes a difference to me when choosing what I buy. I admire their dedication to the environment and to the future of Hawaii with their reforestation project. And, of course I loved seeing that gorgeous koa!!

    Thank you Katie for posting such an informative and educational video. The factory tour was fascinating. Loved how passionate Joe and Kristen are, not only in regard to the instruments they produce, but in how they can have a positive impact on their environment as well. Bass being my primary instrument, those are the only instruments I have in this price range. (It did give me a better appreciation of my Carvin bass which is Koa). I Am interested in sponsoring a tree though, so thanks for including that information in the links. As always you are entirely Lovely. Have a blessed day.

I appreciate you so much.

    I have to say something. I bought a cheap, all laminate KMISE ukulele from Amazon. It absolutely blew the all solid KMISE unit that I also bought. I gave that away, it sounded so bad. Anyways, I have this KMISE uke tuned in open G, with a larger wound "G" string installed that I stole from a pack of classical strings I had on hand. So, here's my comment. This Ukulele sounds beyond what it should. In fact, it sounds unbelievable. The sustain is forever, the sound is lush and warm, and it actually, in my opinion, sounds better than many of the reviews on RUclips featuring high end, very expensive models. I just don't get it, and I've tried tons of models over the years. I will play mine, and then I'll play something very expensive, and I'll think to myself, "Why in the world would I ever pay that much for a ukulele?" The cheap ukulele I bought must be anointed from above!

    I've found my voice:) This is one of your best review videos Katie. You always create joyful wonders like an infinity pool. Like your information bar along the bottom. Those are some of the most incredible sounding ukuleles I've ever heard. Their K2 concert sings!! The craftsmanship and artistry of these sound monsters is the new standard of ukulele manufacturing. They do look delicious. Love the curly life analogy. Brilliant idea~pineapple tenor! Those triangular braces, beautiful example of form follows function. That was the best factory tour, and seeing the unique techniques they employ was eye-brain opening. Love their philosophy of planting love trees. Love to see Kanile'a's million plus tree Forrest of love one day. Shaped like a Ukulele with all the birds and animals singing their love songs of thanks to these marvelous people and all who have contributed their love as well. After hearing all they do and seeing these masterpieces being made, and of course hearing these special ukulele's voices, I'm surprised how reasonably priced they are! Quality people and quality ukuleles seen here. I love quality, one reason God led me to your channel Katie, you are a woman of Quality. A happy day 💓
    Edit: Happy day to the two of you Katie 😺👼(😺closest lion emoji I found)

I do agree with you that they are reasonably priced for the time, work, and materials. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the K2. It’s always great to hear what others think about an instrument. I hope you have a great day!

    26:40 it didn't ring like you expected, was it your fingers or the uke?

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  4 года назад

      What do you mean? If you were just looking at my face, that’s just my concentration face 🤣. The uke is absolutely perfection.

    • @axelvekemans4857
      @axelvekemans4857 4 года назад

      @@OneMusicSchool 25:30 you play the lick (K2 tenor), and marveled at the ringingness (I did too), 26:40 you play the same lick (K2 concert), and it didn't ring like the tenor did. Brow furrows at 26:42, and before the video cuts away you lift your fingers and press them down again, same shape, and your right hand is about to strum again; I'm convinced, even if you say otherwise lol.
      I don't mean to bag on the ukes, or you, for me this is the best video on youtube for showcasing Kanileas in particular and high end ukes in general; specifically for your genuine reactions at the sound that comes out of them: 10:09 10:23 10:52 and the sound samples at the end (again, partly the sound, but mostly because I can see your subjective experience of actually playing them through your reactions).
      Just got my tax return and the two high end ukes I can try-before-buy in my city are Kamaka and Kanilea, I'm as excited as Morgan Freeman on the bus

    • @shinnidan
      @shinnidan 5 лет назад +5

      @@OneMusicSchool I like the tenor style, it's not to small like the concert(I'm too afraid I may break it). However, the thing I like about the kanilea vs the kamaka is the frets. sliding up and down the neck of the kanilea was much smoother for me. Now, I dont know if the Age of my Kamakas have anything to do with it, but it just seems like it its worn down from oxidation. Lol
      Then again, because of our play styles...most of us just keep the expensive ones for show and the chaperone to abuse. Hahah
