My late grandmother. She died in 2018. Hadn't seen her four years prior because she lost memory of who I, my sisters, and even my mom were. So I was more prepared for this one
I miss Ducky so much. He was the Heartbeat of NCIS. When he passed, a small part of our hearts died with him as fans of NCIS🕊 I have been a devoted NCIS fan since the pilot episode...
@@therarestphoenix5254 I miss Ducky too. He truly was the heart of the NCIS team !!! He was a father figure to the agents and Abby especially. And the great David McCallum always did such a beautiful marvelous job of playing. RIP David and Ducky !!! This world will never see your like again !!?
me too. I've been watching the series since the first episode. And with the death of David/Ducky, part of the series also goes. As Ducky, he always had the right words to comfort someone, to encourage someone, or to express his opinion clearly. To some he was probably something like a father.
@@therarestphoenix5254 you mean he's the only one Gibbs didn't hit on when he was in a bad mood? Well, they both started at the same time. So it was a sign of respect
Imagine a nurse telling you that your long lost brother will most likely not remember you, only for them to demonstrate the exact same thing you used to do as kids, and calling out your name..... it must be such a relief and unfathomable gift
Sadly she's more often right. This is a dramatization, real life is more cruel. These scenes are not representative of the majority of cases. My friends grandmother couldn't remember the name of her husband she was with for 50 years when he died. She just wondered "where did that nice man go?". It was was heartbreaking.
I remember watching this the night it premiered. I cried because my late great-grandmother (my maternal grandmother's mother) had dementia at the time and passed in late 2019 at 91. I was blessed to have her for over 22 years in my life. Even at the very end, on her deathbed, she had the rare blessing of identifying us all correctly by name and telling us all she loved us. Her moment of total clarity that defines the end-stage of Alzheimer's had already passed 2 weeks before she did this. Her last words to me alive were "I love you, too, honey. You take care of yourself, you hear?" I miss her dearly.
Jimmy is a good successor to Ducky, but things won't be the same without Ducky. The funny stories, his fatherly manner, the way he talked to the corpses. David played this role really well for 20 years
@@feliciatierney2265 Oh yeah and since we're getting NCIS: Origins, I think that's what it's call, we might see him and Young Gibbs again since they worked together on a case.
This scene never ceases to make me emotional, especially since it is from my favorite Dr. Mallard episode.😊❤ R.I.P. David McCallum AKA Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard😔
they actually mentioned it in one episode when Gibbs answers the question, "what did Ducky looked like when he was younger" and he replies, "Illya Kuryakin"
Nicholas' mother was such a sick, twisted woman to take Nicholas away from his big brother and their father when Nicholas was a child. It has yet to be revealed if he did get married and have children. Should Nicholas be seen again, will he be told what happened to his big half-brother or not?
The woman who took Nicholas away was Ducky's stepmother, Ducky's mother was the elderly lady who lived with him in earlier series of NCIS and after whom Jimmy Palmer's daughter Victoria Elizabeth is named.
There were two characters in this show that I loved, First and foremost was Duckie (Dr. Mallard) cause he reminded me a lot of my grandfather with his ways and actions, also coming in at #1 is Abby. She tech skills and how she handled things was top notch.
Does anyone in your family suffer from

A beautiful moving scene from one of the best see shows EVER !!!! I got chills when Ducky 's brother recognized him !!!
I think it's quite miraculous that despite his Dementia, the brother *still* remembered Ducky after all those years.
Dementia patients often remember things that are far, far back, but struggle with more recent stuff.
Man, if this storyline doesn't nail you right in the heart, then you ain't got one. Beautiful. RIP, David. Miss you as Ducky. 💔
I imagine Dr Palmer visits Ducky's brother in his stead, showing that Ducky's family is his!

This episode made me absolutely sob. Bless you David ❤
This is my FAVORITE Ducky episode of all time. There are others but I love this one the most.
I was amazed with how well they cast Young Ducky. I could totally see him as a young version of David McCallum.

Beautiful scene. They forgot to mention his brother during the memorial scenes.
Given his brother has dementia, and possibly passed away before him, they didn't say much about him. That's just my opinion.

David McCallum also played Judas Iscariot in The Greatest Story ever Told which was released in 1965

That's a moot point now seeing as David McCallum died last year.
