I was so happy when I got to my office and I saw there was a new video up! a Seoul walk video! I've been living difficult, very difficult moments at home lately....crying every single day is not good at all, believe me...., and your videos are like a therapy, so, thanks for bringing some happiness to my days... About the video, wow, this place is a LITTLE bit big, I have no sense of location AT ALL....If I were there, I'd probably walk in circles for hours without noticing and then I find myself in the border with North Korea a hug for you and Marie!
Thanks for your kind words, I know this situation will be old story soon. BTW what happened with the next round of videos for the competition you are in? let us know to support you! I can't wait to see that underground shopping center at Gangnam, I guess the stores are very different!
funny i was just thinking when you was going to come out with a new video, how enjoyable are they you ask? so enjoyable my wife watches them with me now. i have finally added a korea trip on my bucket list, but first i got to pay off this boat that was on there to.....lol. Looking forward to seeing more videos keep up the good work.
Hiya^^ I enjoyed your video a lot that you look around Hoehyeon shopping center. There is no train to get to heohyeon station directly. So, I recommend you to take the AREX(Express train to Seoul station) and then transfer line No.4 to get there. When you stop by the travel center or Express train counter at Incheon Int'l Airport, you can purchase the whole journey ticket to Hoehyeon station at once. You don't need to buy extra ticket at the Seoul station no more! When you visit Korea once again, hope you use the AREX to travel safely and fast.
Hello! I am Richard from Malaysia. Planning to come over here to dig out some vinyls the coming June. That's next year. Plane ticket already booked. Thanks, Cory for the valuable video.
Very cool! Good luck on your crate digging! There are several shops in this Hoehyeon Underground Market, so make sure you explore a bit down there to find those shops. I think there's about 3 or 4. I can't list any places, but in the Hongdae area, there are also some vinyl shops to dig around in. Many DJs and musicians have their studios and stuff in Hongdae, and there's a lot of underground stuff going on around there. Best of luck!!! ^^
You should also check out the textile building in Dongdaemun. It's inside the big building next door to the JW Marriott hotel at Dongdaemun Station. You'll find everything related to textiles, string, zippers, yarn, buttons, etc. ^^
Nice video. I think one of my Friends went to a underground shopping centre at midnight during the Seoul Fashion Week and no one was there and it he said it felt like a apocalypse.
I've actually never been to this particular underground mall, that was cool, thanks for the vid! Would def love more of these walk and talks. I've been to the big one in Incheon you talked about and it is indeed huge, and very easy to get lost in. I think I've been to one near Dongdaemun History and Culture park station, I recall they had this whole full walkway with nothing but (obviously counterfeit) soccer jerseys, lol.
Dope video man! Love your walk around videos, they give a really sick insight in heaps of different things :P But damm syn was so chill, what a coincidence as well. Also, what would you recommend as good things for older people travelling to Korea to do? My parents want to go after I've showed them and taught them heaps of stuff. Peace bro ^.^
Hey Cory! We are in Seoul right now! It is great being back. My husband is basically doing walk about videos everywhere we go for people back home, ala Cory. If I see you on the street, I will give you a shoutout.
+Cory May We are here until the 26th and staying in Jungno. Walked right pass this mall last night and thought of you. Having a great time! Tried the water drop pudding last night in Myeong Dong. Agreed with you, an experience to try once (only). Haha My husband and I developed a theory about ajumas and the tightness of their perms. 😂 Hope you feel better soon.
Hi Cory, I love your videos, they're actually some of the best quality videos about Korea, keep them up! :) Can you please tell me how long it takes to walk from hoehyeon area to Myeongdong? and is hoehyeon a safe place to stay in (as a female tourist)? Thanks alot!
Hi Cory I going to Seoul around December but I not sure which hotel to stay at myeongdong. Can u do some video of hotel in myeongdong and the location is located at where ? Thanks !
hey man! great vid. i keep saying we should meet up and do a double vlog but i dont know when or what should we vlog....haha.....I'll think of something
Wow, now all I want to do is go shopping! LOL Kinda off topic what do you think of the book The Birth of Korean Cool by Euny Hong? I ordered it and am currently waiting for it to land on my doorstep.
+Cory May Thanks for answering. It's about pop culture in Korean and how it has changed the whole mood of the country in the last few years. It looks like a pretty good read. I am also interested in Korean cinema so if anyone can suggest some good movies I would be ever so grateful. Here is a link to the book on Amazon www.amazon.ca/Birth-Korean-Cool-Conquering-Through/dp/1250045118/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1444859213&sr=1-1&keywords=the+birth+of+korean+cool Hi to Marie and I hope she is doing well :>)
+Marie Frenette Hi Marie! Thanks for answering. I am all for a subscription box service. Would save a lot of time and effort in trying to hunt down things. Please include movie reviews and suggestions. I like this idea and you can count on me to be on the list. You two have done so much to educate me on Korea. I talk about it to friends and family. Just yesterday I learned there is a container unloaded at the Busan Port every 3 seconds. My brother, who is a longshoreman, filled me in. LOL! He knows I love all things Korean. Take care and have a great weekend :>)
***** this is actually Syn's brother. I will try to visit Korea too, hopefully soon. When i do, lets check out all the makegolli places in Seoul. I really enjoy your vids, i always watch them when i miss Korea. I hope you make some Busan, Hae woon dae videos too.
