I always enjoy your vlogs Cath. It was good to see you do alterations. It can be really satisfying although the temptation I find is to rush into making something new and sparkly. I’m sure it’s better for the planet to alter what we already have!
Thank you very much! Yes I agree a new make is always very tempting, it’s taken me a while to get around to these alterations but I’m really happy to have tackled them and I enjoyed the process more than I expected. It’s nice that I’ll hopefully reach for them more now 😊🤞
Hello Cath, it was lovely to see how you altered those two garments, you have inspired me to look through my wardrobe now!. Your black trousers look very comfy and love the finish on the waistband. Have a lovely weekend 😀
Thank you very much! I really love the blue floral fabric too, I always enjoy wearing that dress because of the fabric so I’m happy to have made it more comfy now
Lessons learned on how a wee bit of work can make a lot of difference in how a garment fits and feels. Alterations don't seem as 'sexy' as new makes but really can make a world of difference as to whether you wear it or not. Feeling inspired now to alter a knitted vest top I made 2 years ago and have never worn. Just needs the shoulders taken up. Thanks Cath
Thank you yes I found making small changes to the two dresses has really made a difference to how they feel on. I hope I’ll reach for them more now. I’m glad its inspired you to alter your knitted vest top, I hope that goes well 😊
Hi Cath - loved seeing how you went through and altered garments you were not wearing and the decisions you made. It is always helpful to see things like this. And I think all the alterations made a big difference! Take Care
Hi Janiece thank you very much 😊 I am really glad I made the alterations, it was fun to have a think about how they could be adjusted to feel better. Thanks I’m really pleased with how they turned out. Thank you 😊
great job with your alterations! i really need to do more of that myself but i never seem to work up the energy to do it. thank you for the inspiration.
I’m never keen on alterations or mending but it is so satisfying when you finish! I’m saying that looking at two pairs of shorts for my son that I keep putting off 😂 C x Btw, the Saguaro Pants are lovely!
I completely agree, it took me quite a while to build up to these alterations, I’m glad I’ve done them now! Good luck getting the shorts for your son finished! 😊 thanks I’ve really enjoyed sewing the Saguaro pants x
Thank you Cath, I love all you makes, great to see the alterations, smart move. I usually don’t alter clothes, I decided why not give it ago. If it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t really matter. I have a number of round neck tops I’d like to change to v necks.
Hi Wendy, I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the alterations. I enjoyed doing them more than I expected, hopefully I’ll get more wear out of the dresses now. Hope your alterations go well too 😊
Thank you for the alterations suggestion!! I just cut off the 3/4length sleeves of both wiksten tops I've made but don't tend to wear bc of the sleeves and I am so much happier with them! Have a great week and thank you for your awesome videos! 😃
You inspired me to do something about my Sadie. The neckline dropped too low due to the weight of their jersey I used. I have threaded some elastic through the neckband to counteract it. Hopefully I will get more wear out of it now (I already shortened it to tunic length).
The alterations made a lovely difference. I love the black trousers .Why don't you try them on with the leopard top and the sandals/shoes you'd be wearing them with before you decide on their length.
Hi Cath both of your dresses looked a much better fit once you had altered them. I have made the Zadie dress once myself, once I figured the pattern out! Do you think it would work in a Scuba fabric?
Thanks for showing what you sewed, Cath, it's all lovely .
Thanks so much! 😊
