    • @TitlisBusyKitchen0
      @TitlisBusyKitchen0  10 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't like to claim it is an original recipe, but I will say you don't see many no-bake banana cheesecake recipes which mash the bananas in with the cream cheese. Most of the time banana cheesecakes are baked.

      Not quite, dulce de leche is what you get if you boil the condensed milk, no butter added. Caramel sauce does include butter, though, as Titli did here.

    I know it's not really true caramel but if you boil a sealed can of condensed milk for 20-30 minutes it becomes almost caramel like on its own. I thought this was a pretty neat trick the first time I heard of it.

    • @TitlisBusyKitchen0
      @TitlisBusyKitchen0  10 лет назад

      Or even better, Carnation sell tins of caramel :-)

    • @Xiroi87
      @Xiroi87 10 лет назад +1

      That's an old method and quick way to make "dulce de leche" (thick caramel) but considering cans are nowadays lined with a plastic material which is in direct contact with the food, I don't think it's such a good idea, as plastic releases toxic particles when heated, which would go directly to the milk/caramel.
      Heating the condensed milk in a pan on low heat is also an option, but it would take some time and constant attention as you need to keep on stirring most of the time.

    Two things Titli. First of all, as an American I've always wondered why those biscuits are called digestives. Rather than doing a simple google search, I figured I'd ask a real, actual brit! Secondly, and again as an American, I will be sure to try this spam and spaghetti cheesecake as soon as you post the video. :)
    PS: This looks really REALLY good and i'll be trying it out soon.

    • @TitlisBusyKitchen0
      @TitlisBusyKitchen0  10 лет назад

      According to Wiki, "The term "digestive" is derived from the belief that they had antacid properties due to the use of sodium bicarbonate when they were first developed"

      Titlis Busy Kitchen Tethmes i think it still says on the label they can induce a laxative effect (if you scarf the packet- easily done). Though probably more likely now it's due to the random chemicals they've used to replace bicarb!
