Well, actually he can. The staff actually is used by him to help him use his powers, mostly like healing magic (however, i HEADCANON that he too uses his staff to see with his eyes closed, so he knows what is happening without needing to open his eyes)

Never thought that Luna and Nightmare Moon's song could get even better. Using a male voice sounds amazing and Its a perfect fit for Pure Vanilla Cookie and Shadow Milk Cookie.
