    Dear fans,
I re did this video once more with part of this looking very clear whereas the last part sadly still looks damaged and I cannot fix it any more at this stage with my software.
This is Barry Ryan in 1986 with David Vanian of The Damned being interviewed by Nick Owen and Anne Diamond when The Damned's version of 'Eloise' was at number 3 in the UK singles charts.
I edited this video and uploaded this video in memory of Barry Ryan and it is shared under the terms of fair use and no copyright infringement is intended.
The first part is Barry Ryan making one of his typical funny expressions trying to copy the look Paul and Barry had ( in his opinion) on the photo shown from 1973 🤭 I feel fans may not realize just how funny Barry was and how quick witted he was as well.
He would reply with something funny and sometimes with a straight face so that one could not be sure if he was joking until you looked into his eyes and you could see his sense of mischief in his sparkly eyes.
I also included The Damned's version of Eloise in this.
I love the interview as we get to see and hear Barry talk about a few interesting subjects, such a terrible fire accident, his photography and his technique he developed ( and see some of the shots from Day Mares) and also talk about smoking ( where Barry shows again what a considerate kind man he truly was) and more. I love that we see his wonderful facial expressions.
( I did add in slow mo Barry's & Dave's funny expressions at the end)
He was so interesting to watch and always made me smile.
Noteworthy is how Barry reacts when he is asked by Nick Owens about the fire accident, after all the lies that were said , I am not surprised but Barry shared what happened briefly and succinctly.
Disappointing was the fact that Anne Diamond had no idea that there was a film clip made for Eloise and that it was the first one a record company decided to invest in, and after all there are 2 other Eloise clips out there from other countries as well. ( Germany, Switzerland or France and a Spanish version) .
I found it a tad annoying when Barry's photographs were shown the way Anne could not seem to understand what was the right way up and the art and concept was way above their heads, or so I feel however Barry was his charming self and joked about a model suing him.
I also laughed when Barry, ever so kind, almost started explaining his time lapse photography , the way he uses lighting and torches to make it look so surreal , and then said "I'm not going to give my tricks away" and then he laughs and pulls that funny face.
I think David Vanian got patronized terribly, considering this was 1986, it was surreal the way he was treated, I thought he dealt really well with the questions and I think Barry and David were simpatico.
All in all, to me this is a fascinating look at the 80's and seeing Barry for me is always wonderful.
If you like it half as much as I love it, it will have been worth all the hours and time spent on re mastering this.
I really love this video as it really shows what I have mentioned before, the fact that Barry was always very polite, charming and kind despite what he may have thought about interview questions ( like the incorrect one about there not ever having been a film clip for Eloise) and he proves it in this interview.
The sparkle in his eyes, his sense of fun also is apparent.
    I love this so much.
I feel blessed having met Barry and Paul and got to know Barry as a sunny talented singer and he and Paul will be remembered with love and affection by fans.
Barry and Paul were two very special men, who mean so much to many people and I am glad that they are remembered and still loved by so many fans.
I have created this channel to honour Barry and Paul, please subscribe or add a like (a thumbs up) and add a comment if you wish to.
    I also have a Facebook page @ BarryRyan1948

Thank you so much, this was the reason I was so keen to share this particular interview as fans get to see the ' real' Barry, not just the singing pop star. He was such a very funny man, his expressions always changing, it must have been a real effort for him when he performed to stay more still. He was of course born to sing, I feel. I am so glad all the work on this video has been worth it and fans love this. ❤❤❤❤❤

Lots of love to you, my dear Soulsister ❤

Lots of love to you and thank you for your warm words, dearest Soulsister ❤❤❤😘❤❤❤

Thank you so very much for your kind and warm words. It was a somehow fiddly job that took a few weeks as I get so tired at the moment, I was happy with how part of this turned out but was a touch disappointed that the most damaged part although better than before, still was nowhere near as clear as the rest. My computer and software just were not able to improve that part to the extend I would have liked to have seen. I also feel there are parts still missing and wish I had them all to show. But I am so glad I had these bits and was able to make it into one long video. I was a labour of love and when I watched the finished product I had a few teary moments. Thank you so much my friend. I will be sharing "Come Home" by Barry and the Verge over Easter as I love this so much, also another rarer song. Wishing you a lovely week, Tia xx

I so love this interview too Tia. There seemed to be a respect between Barry and Dave. I said to my daughter, how much I loved Barry, and she said yes, you did love him Mum, but you also loved David Essex. I said and Stevie Wright and Andy Gibb. But my number one has always been Barry. They all had this boyish charm. . Sadly David is the only one still alive. Wasnt Barry's Mum gorgeous to look at. I love hearing Barry talk i we never seen nor heard enough of him. He will always be number one for me, because of his magnificent voice. Hope your feeling stronger and healthier Tia. You put so much work into everything for us, Barry's fans. XX.

@@lindaferguson630 Thank you so much. Well, what can I say? It is no secret how I feel about Barry and I guess it shows in the videos I create or fix and edit together, this video had me struggling at times, it was so fiddly to add all the bits and my computer had a few wobbly attacks where it decided to have a break down and just froze, I am happy how the first 8 or so minutes turned out but the last bit was so damaged , even with 3 days processing and weeks of trying different ways to improve it, it just looks a better but not as good as the rest. I also feel there is another part missing, I wish we had more videos. Feeling pretty poorly at the moment, not sure if it is the cooler weather or the fact I am just so exhausted from coughing. I am looking forward to Easter and will try and just be in nature those days and relax. I will be sharing 2 videos for Easter. Warmest regards,
      Tia xx

@@barryryan1948 You did a great job on getting us to see the real Barry, not just the pop star. His charisma was very strong, yet he seemed unassuming and humble. What a man. Rest up over Easter Tia. I feel so sorry that you can't stop coughing. Your a strong woman.

@@lindaferguson630 Thank you for those warm words. You said it perfectly, about his charisma (but believe me when I say that his charisma in real life was about 5 times if not more than what you see when you watch him in interviews , video clips or perhaps some photos, as his eyes, the way he looked at you, the slight tilt of his head if he was showing interest in what you were saying, his whole persona was such a force of nature that the videos sadly cannot capture, yet he hated vain people and snobs and would happily point out his faults if someone said something like "Oh you look so handsome or you are perfect" and make a witty remark at his own expense. He was incredibly modest and humble and when you think that he was not only such a gifted singer but also a talented photographer and those 2 jobs very often mean people with huge egos and who make diva demands on others, well he was just not built this way. Photographers really can be so demanding and most fashion photographers from the 80s had that reputation, Barry was once again not that type. I think he knew he was a good singer or as he said once he was born to sing but he didn't think much more than this and even in the era where he had the biggest success , was never a diva. His words in one interview were something like this : "I believe in giving it all, being punctual and polite, I will pose for photographers, give interviews, signing autographs whenever asked, smiling at the fans ( without them I would not be singing) and smile at the girls ( well, that one is fun, isn't it, he said) and sing in whatever language they ask me to do. " ❤ I think this summed him up as far as being modest and unassuming as well. Wishing you also a very Happy Easter, to you and your family . Love, Tia xx

Thank you so much Stefan, this one was a tricky one that almost had me beat at one stage 😅, the computer froze a few times as I overloaded the demands 😂 I made on it. I think I tried to do too many improvements in one go, lesson learned. 😃 I wish the last part was clearer but this was the best I could do, I also feel there is still a part missing but perhaps one day this will find its way to the fans.

    Liebe Barry Ryan Fans,
