- With less than 4 months to go, I joined Piers Morgan for a wide-ranging segment about the Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump race for president.
Right now, Donald Trump is still the favorite to win - but not as heavy of a favorite as he was against Joe Biden. I talked about how the Harris campaign could still win, and how Trump could ultimately defeat her.
Why is it important to listen to someone who was wrong for eight years
He was right for Mid Terms in 22, I remember him being interviewed by Bill O Reilly just before Mid Terms and Luntz predicted exactly the result, the GOP would not win the Senate but would win the House of Rep with a far smaller Majority than expected, even Bill O Reilly would not accept what Luntz predicted BUT HE WAS BANG ON!!!!

A few months ago Luntz said that he thought Corey Booker would be a formidable opponent against Trump.
He said Donald Trump has 0% chance of winning on election night in 2016 and then was in disbelief on TV.

Hi entire analysis is usually wrong. People like the idea of Kamala Harris, they absolutely hate the reality of Kamala Harris. The biggest tactical mistake was forcing Biden out now rather than two weeks from now: the more time Kamala has at the top of the ticket, and the more people actually see of her, the less they will like her. If it was me, the strategy I would have gone with is that, if she was going to replace Biden, I would want to do it at the absolute last minute possible. Every day she's the nominee is a day the American people will see who and what she is.
She has no chance in a debate against Trump. You saw what Tulsi did to her, end her entire campaign in just a few minutes, in 2020, and Tulsi was a fellow democrat who was playing nice at the time.

Trump needs to focus on Policies he wants to bring forth, which would present a shape contrast to his opponent VP Harris. He must paint a picture... Otherwise, his big mouth will cost him the election.

No, the 81 million was small dollar donations. She also got 58.000 new volunteers... also a record.
I’m not sure that I follow your logic. If donors were withholding their contributions because they were not excited. Then she jumped in and asked for their support and they said yes; she for sure raised 81M in one day. Joe did not; nor any other democratic candidate

Nationwide Voter Registration in the USA: 41% Independent, 31% Registered Democrats and 25% Registered Republicans. Democrats outnumber Republicans by roughly 10 million across the nation. A GOP candidate has to win Independents by a margin of 10 million just to TIE. T
A generic Democratic candidate has a built in 10 million voter advantage if it's just base versus base between the 2 parties. The Republican nominee has lost the last 7 out of 8 popular votes because the registration numbers are so difficult to overcome. Yet Trump is the front runner? Sure, good luck with that 😎

I grew up in a family that was lucky if we even managed paycheck to paycheck. I am very concerned by the economic blight in Appalachia and rural parts of the country. But, hell. Vance is no longer “one of them” anymore than I am.
That said. Vance is the right pick. Don’t overthink it. He says he has the answers for all the bad things, knows who to blame, and has a plan to fix everything that’s wrong. Trump doesn’t expand his base playing identity politics. That was Pence era politics. We’re in full on grievance politics this go around.

As people hear Donolds speech telling Christians if they elect him this time they won't have to vote again as he will 'fix the country', I suspect that the Harris enthusiasm will continue.

The race is closer now by virtue of the fact that Kamala is a normal functioning candidate who can campaign and push her message. This is what the race should've looked like all along in a more normal cycle if Joe Biden wasn't in obvious mental decline for the last year or so. Despite that, Trump is still running in the driver's seat right now because this is one of the most unpopular first term administrations in modern history. It has almost zero appeal outside of the most partisan Democrats. And there's even about 10-12% of Democrats who hold an unfavorable view of this administration. That's not an insignificant number when it's your own party's incumbency. Nearly 70% of Independents have an unfavorable view of the admin and 97-98% of Republicans do as well. The trend started downwards pretty sharply during and after the afghanistan withdrawal failure, and it's never gotten better from there. Kamala is intrinsically tied to this administration's record and it's going to be impossible to get away from it.
Right now the media and the DNC are giving her a full glow up, with a lot of money coming in and non-stop glazing from corporate media. This is the honeymoon phase and as we always see every cycle, these things are temporary. Just as James Carville warned today, this is probably the most popular she's going to be, because people haven't really discovered her baggage yet. It's like an adrenaline rush from the Democrats finally feeling like they have a horse in the race, rather than a sinking ship. And as CNN's Harry Enten(their chief polling data guru) said, the momentum she's seeing is being overstated. She's doing better than Biden because the bar was so low, but not doing all that much better than she was as a hypothetical candidate, despite all of the money and hype being injected into her candidacy. Right now she's shiny and new. Pretty soon that won't be the case. Eventually voters, the few undecideds that are left, are going to find out that she's the most far left liberal, according to her own prior statements and voting record, that has ever been this close to the Presidency. Normally candidates like her are screened out during the primary process. That's why you got Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, rather than Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. She didn't have to earn the nomination through that process.
I just tend to think that there's a good number of Americans out there, maybe not partisan Democrats, that are uncomfortable with what we saw over these past 3 weeks, the historical significance of it. As well as the historical significance of the idea that someone could be elected President, without actually having to run as a candidate for President during the primary process. She didn't have to go out and plead her case for why she should be chosen to be the nominee. She didn't have to win a single state, or delegate, and the voters had no real choice in the matter. I know the system technically allows for this to happen, but it's still highly unorthodox and flies in the face of the traditional norms we have in this country where the voters get to decide who they want to represent their party. Would Kamala Harris earn the nomination in a normal primary process against several other democratic hopefuls? She got 3% support in 2019. I doubt it.
