Because the Master of Masters knows about the World of Fiction, and wrote it down, I theorize. Also, the reason they fail if Kairi doesn't launch to the Destiny Island (her Fate), is because then Xehanort cannot possessed the Child of Destiny. If the Child of Destiny doesn't become a Dark Vessel, they cannot be the Child. No Child, Darkness prevails, Light expires. Which Apprentice Xehanort knows, because the Machine of Ansem the Wise unlocked his Memory of being Master Xehanort (who read the Book)
