get the fuck outta here. my cousins went to the nebraska game few years back and my little cousin got beat up in the bathroom and got called the N word. they was called the N word all night. so that's a fucking lie.
Chad Shepard ....be quiet....PLEASE!!!! We GET that you're upset...we GET that something happened! But ranting and raving and calling people names....what's that going to solve? The only result you're getting is people laughing at your posts and thinking you're a sore loser...is that what you want? I don't think you do. So take a deep breath and let it go, ok? Thanks.
Dan Powell I guess I'd be pissed off too if my team was slaughtered three of four times we played them, and I thought Nebraska has such a classy fanbase.
Seems to me the diff between Badger v. Buckeye fan base is that after their team beats an opponent, a Buckeye fan seems to want to rub your nose in it, and a Badger fan wants to buy you a post-game beer
As a proud Wisconsin resident and a former student at UW-Madison, I couldn't agree more. In addition, Wisconsin is home to the greatest NFL stadium, Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Attending games at both venues is almost a religious experience.
Hello Badgers! I'm a Terp alum (like Mr. van Pelt) and I'm really looking forward to catching some games up in Madison! Best of luck to your Badgers this year, and I look forward to joining the Big Ten!
I've went to Madison graduated with a doctoring degree, went to a lot of games as a kid. The town has a great atmosphere, nicest and best fans you will ever find, best natural surroundings you got lakes, ponds, rivers and much more. Each stadium or place you go to have a different atmosphere but everyone there is nice and all respect Badgers sports. So if you visited Madison you'd never want to leave trust me. When I got my degree I wanted to stay in college and live in Madison.
Amen man. It's been over two years now since I've graduated and it gets harder as times go by to let go of this place. Finding a job there isn't the easiest, but you never quite let it go as your home.
LeedleLetsPlaysz Agreed. The only place that made me change my mind as an adult, was Seattle. And I only went their randomly, because tech-wise better for my career. But UW Madison is such a great place! And certainly better for all things sports (though Go Seahawks! --with your former UW QB Russell Wilson)
Madison is astronomically overrated. The weather is terrible, there are homeless people everywhere, there are nothing but chain restaurants and hole-in-the-wall bars, the students are covid-spreading morons, the cheese is the same as anywhere else in the world, the gerrymander-entrenched GOP government has tanked the uni and caused a mass-exodus of anyone reputable.
Haters will be haters, but there's a reason why SI, Bleacherreport and USA Today named the, "Best College Football Town In America and, "Best College Sports Town in America" If you ever come to Camp Randall, the fans are really passionate good natured fans. The men's hockey team has been averaging the higest attendence in college hockey for a while and the men's basketball team, tickets are sold out on yearly basis. They also had men's and women's outdoor hockey games that avraged about 40,000 people. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world.
Born, raised (Wauwatosa...suburb of Milwaukee) and retired in Madison, Wisconsin ('17) My daughter received her undergraduate degree from UW-MADISON, my son is a senior at UW-EAU CLAIRE. When my wife and I were researching places to retire we visited the far northwest (Seattle) for our 20th anniversary in '13 and absolutely loved it!! Only three issues, "1", it really does rain there a lot, "2", at the time it was not apparent, but the economic/social upheaval drastically changed the ambience for the entire city and lastly, REALLY expensive cost of living. Our second choice was Boulder, Colorado, a "smaller" Madison in the Rockie mountains were my sister and her husband (born, raised and graduated CU) have lived for the last forty yrs (he recently retired from the Colorado Denver Symphony Orchestra after 34yrs and the Colorado Central City Opera Orchestra after 25yr. My sister was the harp faculty for the University of Colorado, Denver, first call union harpist and performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra-Denver. They are 70 and still ski the Rockies. We also loved IT!! It too is VERY expensive!! The remaining city was Madison, Wisconsin. It really IS a great college "town"!! Also on the expensive side, but doable. We live about a mile+ from the stadium!
Just like Wisconsin going to a Green Bay Packers football game is like a college atmosphere Lambeau leap and all and I am glad to have seen the Wisconsin Badgers play a game at Lambeau field and do the Lambeau leap after the was over. Go Pack Go and Go Badgers On Wisconsin.
Been to both the Ohio State game in 2010 and the Nebraska game in 2011. Now I'm going to school there in 3 months and living two blocks away from Camp Randall. What can be better?
2012-2013 year Big Ten champs: Football Big Ten champs: Sofftball Big Ten Championship game appearance: Basketball Big Ten Champs: Indoor Track WCHA Champs: Hockey wow! Greatest sports town in the world had a hell of a year! Way to go Badgers, keep running the Big Ten.
Yes thanks to a Husker, Barry Alvarez UW has an athletic program folks can be proud of having been here before he arrived it's been quite a transformation.
Hey, Cooper, you're right. Thanks for responding the way you did. I'm not excited for a number of reasons about the two additions to the Big Ten, but I don't know why I would have responded like that to such a warm comment. Sorry, MarylandTerrapins1.
An to think that in the early 1900s our baseball team was so important that the Japanese invited and paid the team's way to tour Japan playing local teams in the US and Japan. I know it old school, but once baseball was king.
I've grown up seeing football, basketball, hockey games at the high school, NCAA D1-111 levels, NFL, NBA, levels; have been a high school fb coach and God willing soon to be a NCAA fb coach in Minn., ;) Have listened to coaches from all levels on all sports speak and have met these coaches in person... they can all agree and will say Sconny is so special. And to those that disagree with Scott Van Pelt's or those coaches, or a lot of people's opinions, y'all either biased with your locality-which is respected in my book, but if not... ya just really don't have a clue. #WhenWeSayWisconsinWeveAlreadySaidItAll #StopHatin #YouWishYouUs #JustSayin #OnWiscon$in #HoneyBadgerScaredofBucky
It is hilarious how much hate is in the comments. I have one thing I would like to tell you haters. Look in the NFL. How many great players are from Wisconsin? Lets just say to many to count. Finally ON WISCONSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was as student there from 86-90. Only crew and hockey were any good. Football and basketball SUCKED. Loved the campus, school, and city. Awesome school, a public ivy. It has only gotten better.
Funny, your from Texas and say the last player? You don't even know that is JJ Watt, one of the best defensive players in the NFL that plays for the Houston Texans.
I was born and raised a badger fan But for my money I think Wisconsin is what college football should be the fans are absolutely nuts about the badgers I mean in Wisconsin we got the Green Bay Packers but in my opinion the Wisconsin Badgers are more beloved then green bay packers that’s just my opinion because when you look at Wisconsin Badgers you find more home Wisconsin guys more boys who come from the State of Wisconsin
Yep, nothing makes a college town like nice lakes, a big capitol building and 'unique students with their cheers' like, "Eat shit! fuck you!" Wish I could say I was making the last one up. Stay classy Madison.
As an Ohio state fan, I completely agree, I would love to experience a Jump Around once before I die. Lived in Janesville for about 5 years
Hang on Sloopy! As a former member of the UW Marching Band, I loved traveling to Columbus for a "battle of the bands". Great times, friendly rivalry.
Ohh Bluuee I live in Janesville
I visited Madison for the BYU game last year. Probably the nicest fans I've ever met. Great atmosphere and a great time, even though the Cougs lost.

I was born and raised in Nebraska and go to Nebraska but I went to the game in Wisconsin two years ago and loved it, even wanted to transfer there.
Don't forget that Wisconsin also runs a clean athletic department (sorry Ohio St.)
Seems to me the diff between Badger v. Buckeye fan base is that after their team beats an opponent, a Buckeye fan seems to want to rub your nose in it, and a Badger fan wants to buy you a post-game beer
@@chuckmurphy9038 TRUTH!
*This statement is not true and is total BS.... You forgot to add sorry to Penn State and Michigan State as well!*
@@501764727 Indeed, us Badgers do love our beer.
Our daughter graduated a year ago May from UW-Madison. We just retired and moved here also a year ago. Fabulous place to work, live and play!

I'm from the west coast so I zone know that much about Wisconsin but damn that student section I would love to go to a game at camp
As a proud Wisconsin resident and a former student at UW-Madison, I couldn't agree more. In addition, Wisconsin is home to the greatest NFL stadium, Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Attending games at both venues is almost a religious experience.
I am an Alabama Alumnus and have spent time in many college sports towns and I will say I agree... Madison is the best college sports town.

WedgeOfSpite I just saw your comment and I'm not much of an NFL fan, but I do root for Seattle a little bit because of DaneRuss.
What is a doctoring degree ? Is it ABD?
"You could not invent a better college town"
