Please get more French imperial guard marine swords. The one with the very curved hilt. Mines loose
Definitely adding this to my list
A PERFECT CUTLASS‼️👍
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET !!
I love it. Single handed sabres from this era are my fav of all time
Was in Imperial Germany a typical police wespon, also first german security guards used it.
VIVE L'EMPEREUR !!!!!!!
Him: Its basically a short saber
Me: Yep, cutlass or hanger for sure 😂
#semantics
Nope, still a short saber.
@@kultofathena6217 Yes you are correct it technically is a hanger not a cutlass as it was used by infantry not sailors 😂😜
they were probably used as machete like tools as well
I thought i remember reading somewhere that this particular maker leaves the blades on the soft side. A saw a skallagrim vid with a similar sabre that showed it wasnt quite as hard as it should be and the hilt can loosen with use. Has this been addressed and fixed?
Scabbard lining?

how is the distal taper? Comparable to a historic one or just cut from a steel sheet like most replicas?
@@TrueFork I'm just an amateur, but there appears to be no appreciable taper.
@@danjohnston9037 that's what I fear, I have an original (though in poor shape) and the spine is 8mm at the hilt, 4mm in the middle and 2.5mm just before where the false edge begins. The taper makes a completely different balance
