Used to work in Stainless steel fabrication. We usually had more Scotch Brite in stock than steel, thats how much we used it. Awesome stuff. No shop should be without it. You can even get if for a Dremel tool.

Been using these pads for the past month or so on a 65 gt cortina restore. They are awesome, though not enough meat sticking out past the hard backing. IMO they'd be heaps better if the hard backing section was smaller in diamter and more of the material to use on the side.

Do you think the green has enough cut to polish aluminum welds? Being a bike frame the angles get weird, an these look like they would conform well to curved tubes but not be aggressive on the surrounding area of the welds. I was using the red surface prep roloc disks on the open areas but needed more cutting power.

I know on the 3" discs they have different levels of abrasion. The 2 shown here are good at removing material from metal, but there are discs that will start removing metal so be cautious on which ones you use. If I remember correctly, the purple and brown ones will remove metal.

These things suck. I have used 4 or 5 different companies to source them and none of them last for more than a few minutes of work. You're far better off with a 120 flap disc and some DA work and if you have to have the brush finish, go over it with that for "looks" if you feel the need.
