In colder weather, some parks will avoid sending an empty train on certain coasters that are more likely to valley! That may be why you guys were evac’d off the brake run of Shambhala rather than the park sending the train in the station empty and unloading you from the station like normal. We used to do something very similar at El Toro in cold weather. Cedar Point will also do the same with Millennium Force on some cold days!
If you are lucky enough to ride the last train with not enough people to fill it, you may ride an extra time without leaving the train. This hapened to me and a couple of friends last time we visited PortAventura in November. I assume they gently ask you if you want an extra ride because they have no more options, if the train is not fill enough it wont finnish all the track.
As someone who loves Nitro, getting the mako experience after already kinda preferring "Goliath" at SF over Georgia took it from being #1, though I do think its underrated. Especially if you hit no trims.
@@zanewebb2665 lol Raging Bull is kinda cool for being a hyper twister better than the gionovala ones but otherwise it's weak "for a hyper." Other than the drop and that first tunnel and turn and second drop. Like most coasters at SF Great America tbh. Above-average but nothing really truly stands out. Unless GCI totally revamped American Eagle and added titan track and inversions, then it definitely would. Not that some of the clones aren't great nor that anything is actually bad, though doesn't seem like Maxx Force was a good idea, always broken.
@@oneandonlysound99 maxx force is so annoying. I’ve been going for three years a couple times a year and I’ve had the worst luck with it and only JUST got to ride it. But I agree sfgam is lacking long rides that’s why raging bull is my favorite
I actually spit out my water laughing when Sarah said “me too.” Also, the reason they let you off on the break run is because that’s where they have to park the train at the end of the night. You’ll probably never ever see a park in the US do that though cause in my experience we always run that train empty of with employees who are ok with it.
Shambhala cannot operate without guests on it on this season, comming from a ride assistant at the park, I do also think in summer neither but I don't remember, but all you said is true
Lol. Sounds like you had a really good time. I went to Portaventura once back in 2017 and this is a pretty funny story. I went on that one day where Catalonia became independent for like 8 seconds and there were mass protests in Barcelona. So everyone were back in the city either protesting or just watching what happened. The park was completely empty, and we had bought out express passes at the front gate so we had no idea what would happen inside. We had already heard the park gets super crowded but on that one day the park was DEAD! Shambhala was a walk on almost the whole day, same goes for Red Force, and Furious Baco! It was all quite insane really and something I know I'd never be able to recreate even if I wanted to.
Dragon Khan was my first B&M around ‘96-‘98 and without the trim breaks….I had 14 rides without waiting in line in a bit more than one hour. GREAT COASTER !
Shambhala is a back row ride, especially for the airtimes. But yeah it's running slower lately, even in the Summer... Should have gotten the Express Premium pass tbh, worth the money. And it's pretty much medatory for a coaster fan going to PAv imo.
Friends with an op of shambhala. It’s easier for them to evac the last train on the transfer track than send the next train. Quicker to get that train moved into storage and then leave the last train in the station. Rlly cool tbh
10:43 If you do ever make it to Finland and Linnanmäki, they're open at least 11-22 and on special weekends till midnight (in the autumn), so that's one of the exceptions to early closing euro parks. So night rides galore, that is unless you go in early to mid summer in which case the sun's gonna be up still.
6:10 It's like Universal Studios Japan all over again. Visit an international park on a national holiday the US doesn't celebrate therefore heavy crowds.
I enjoy both of those parks, but I still stand by what I said there at the end as far as the 3 must do's. The only one I would add to it as a 4th option is Energylandia. After that probably Alton Towers. (not saying these are the best parks, just the best for roller coasters)
Hope y'all had fun! My first park not in America will probably be in Canada or Mexico sadly. But I may go to Ohio for the fist time next summer for coaster con!!!
Tatsu x2 is really shaky but still fun twisted colossus is the most overhyped thing ever so don’t hold your breath thinkings it’s great apocalypse is awesome so is racers and the arrow collection is amazing ( goldrush ninja viper and x2)
I actually know why they only ran the red side on Stampida; when I was there I rode the blue side, and the lap bars continued to get stuck in place multiple times when I was in line and actually while I was on the ride. Can’t say I would ride again though, I got jackhammered pretty bad in the front row
I do love Portaventura. One of my favorites in Europe. And I do not agree with your list: parks you need to do in Europe you absolustely need to include Energylandia even though you haven´t done it so far ;)
Please RMC Stampida, so much potential! It’s a meh CCI for me, it’s rough and it’s got some dead spots where it’s crawling. The double down is painfullllllllll
WOW! 1st time I see people leaving Shambhala trains on the freaming brake run, now I know what to do when i go back. Oh, and I hope you didn't visit that ugly restaurant in the parking lot
The park looks good and the rides are good, but ow my god do they run it bad!!! Compare that to for instance Europa park🤔. They will deliberately run fewer trains to upsell the express passes. And that is a fact known in the European coaster community. Shame, shame. Glad you guys had a good time though!
I don't have to ride Shambhala to know it is better than Nitro. Nitro is my least favorite B&M hyper and I've ridden it over 200 times. Airtime isn't very strong even if you get a lot of room and while the helix is the best part because you get to black out, the ride is kinda boring. It dropped several spots in my rankings over the years.

That's so interesting, I never knew that. Big fan of your channel btw.

Ryan, you should really do a Coaster Idiots video at PortAventura & Ferrari Land
I've officially lost hope. Not even Shambhala could take down Nitro as Sarah's favorite B&M hyper...
Would be so funny if Silver Star would dethrone Nitro for her :D
As someone who loves Nitro, getting the mako experience after already kinda preferring "Goliath" at SF over Georgia took it from being #1, though I do think its underrated. Especially if you hit no trims.
Nitro is mediocre at best raging bull still holds as my number one hyper

I must say, dragon khan is one of the most beautiful looking coasters out there with rides like hakugei or fury 325.
Sad that you didn’t get to do Street Mission! It’s actually a really solid interactive darkride

it happens more times than you'd think
9:32 I think they saw and Sarah and found out she prefers Nitro so they decided to leave you guys on the brake run.
Dragon Khan was my first B&M around ‘96-‘98 and without the trim breaks….I had 14 rides without waiting in line in a bit more than one hour.
GREAT COASTER !

That run to Shambhala got me on the edge of my seat! So glad you made it 🤣👍 also a cheeky evac cred! ❤️ Awesome vlog guys!
Friends with an op of shambhala. It’s easier for them to evac the last train on the transfer track than send the next train. Quicker to get that train moved into storage and then leave the last train in the station. Rlly cool tbh
Interesting. Definitely the first I've heard of it!
The close up shots of the rides were great

Wait times are crazy. When you time an Europapark visit good you can do unlimited rides without getting out of the train 😅
That shot at 1:52 is so sick!
I assume "Europe" doesn't include the UK? Or do you have Alton and Thorpe way lower than the other three parks on the continent?
For me Alton and Thorpe don't cut it amongst Europe's best. Alton is OK but at best a B tier park, although I would rate it a C tier.
I enjoy both of those parks, but I still stand by what I said there at the end as far as the 3 must do's. The only one I would add to it as a 4th option is Energylandia. After that probably Alton Towers. (not saying these are the best parks, just the best for roller coasters)
Nothing like a front row night ride on Red Force
...that bank'd incline looks wicked. If i ever imagine ah "DaB" being ah ride element...
6:54 lmao sarah’s face😭😭
Still waiting on that Orion parady
ALL of the main summer period portaventura is open until midnight, rides tend to close at 11pm before the lake show starts.
Hope y'all had fun! My first park not in America will probably be in Canada or Mexico sadly. But I may go to Ohio for the fist time next summer for coaster con!!!
Hey Taylor, I’m going to magic mountain tomorrow. Do you have any recommendations on rides?
The big chungus Coaster
X2
Tatsu x2 is really shaky but still fun twisted colossus is the most overhyped thing ever so don’t hold your breath thinkings it’s great apocalypse is awesome so is racers and the arrow collection is amazing ( goldrush ninja viper and x2)
For me Dragon Khan didn't stand out at all, it was alright but the other rides blew me away more. Street mission is amazing you missed out there.
Well Sarah this park was owned by universal for a while.
I'd love to come to this park, it looks amazing!
So are you in Europe still or was this a few weeks ago??
This was about 2 weeks ago
I was let off on the break run on Taron's last ride of the day too. Guess it's a thing here in Europe.
I would love you to experience the park at its full, with the amazing Huracan Condor and templo del fuego open...
Woohoo! Part 2!
I actually know why they only ran the red side on Stampida; when I was there I rode the blue side, and the lap bars continued to get stuck in place multiple times when I was in line and actually while I was on the ride. Can’t say I would ride again though, I got jackhammered pretty bad in the front row

Maybe it was a valley risk? So they didn’t send an empty train
It actually is
Any plans to go to energylandia next year??
That’s the goal!
WOW! 1st time I see people leaving Shambhala trains on the freaming brake run, now I know what to do when i go back. Oh, and I hope you didn't visit that ugly restaurant in the parking lot

I can tell, I've been working there as a ride assistant and the experience from inside is also horrible, the park is horribly organized.
Shambala looks almost exactly like a smaller Orion
Why does Sarah hate Nitro sooo much 🤣🤣
You mean love lol
Controversial opinion: Furious Baco is the best night ride at PA
hey taylor!
When you talk to us about the rides look directly to your camera instead of looking sideways!
She still prefers Nitro? Taylor I swear, something not right with her, this makes no sense.
I don't have to ride Shambhala to know it is better than Nitro. Nitro is my least favorite B&M hyper and I've ridden it over 200 times. Completely agree to this day I still prefer raging bull as my favorite and I rank intrimadator ahead of nitro because it’s that pathetic
Face masks, such a thing from the past.
