Really powerful. Made me go in to into a semi trancelike state watching up close. I love Wardruna, Heilung and older Neofolk artists/shamans too. The rhythms and vocal tones used are primal and tap into our subconscious mind. Binaural beats can do this too and interestingly a lot of early techno did the same, hence the name 'trance'.
I will be paying attention to this collective.

Nice observation, came here because of Wardruna and Heilung just like you. I do prefer this rather than binaural though, this has strength, power and overall: Meaning.

@@standby4firemission oh I agree. I find binaural is good for less intense trance work (including for sleep) but the raw, human aspect of drums/chanting is what can get you deep and is best for astral travel etc. Cheers.

Not really a new genre.. actually it draws from ancient Nordic and middle-eastern influences. It is surprising how many bands are doing this sort of thing but this is done quite well. Another fantastic band if you havent checked out is Heilung from Norway. They have been at it for quite a few years now and I love the fact that they use completely traditional instrumentation. I got surprised to see Heilung in Wacken.. I actually got scared and ran away from their show because it was so powerful, I could feel deep vibrations in my body and it was not the good time for me to discover that.. it is so primal, I listen to it sometimes when I feel like it. I think it is part of what us, metalheads, like, but I wouldn't play around and get drunk with this kind of music ..
