NYTT LAND about the video:
“’U-Gra’ has become a special song for us, as this is our dedication to ancient Siberia. Since it was in antiquity that the lands of the Western and central part of Siberia were called ‘Ugra’. Ugorian land.
The ancestral home of several European peoples - Finns, Hungarians and Sami. ‘U-Gra’ is based on the ancient legend of the Siberian native tribe Khanty. It tells the story of the guardian spirits of the land where the tribe lives. At the beginning and the end of the song, a real ritual conspiracy of spirits sounds, in which the shaman asks them to be kind to their people, help people and keep the land on which the tribe lives. And our seven-year-old son Yuri played one of the main roles in the video ‘U-Gra’.”
NYTT LAND on the record:
"Our new album is a big story, a long way - from the harsh, snowy fjords of ancient Scandinavia - to the endless expanses of the great Siberian taiga. Having chosen life in a small Siberian village, we are inspired by nature, its eternal, primordial life force. And this inspiration finds expression in our music."

As a Hungarian, I feel very touched by this song. I felt like listening to my ancestors. So many people don't realize that we are brothers and sisters and have the same roots, some deeper than we can ever imagine. In the ancient times, peoples had deep spiritual bonds with nature, they were traveling, migrating in tribes and when they met, they wedded with each other, making alliances and blood pacts and with this, they created new ways of life, new cultures and languages. We are our ancestors as they are us. Once we understand this, we will find our way Home.
We aren't all brothers and sisters. That's the point. You can't just lump everyone together. That's true racism. Dismantling culture and differences
@@imooumoo4 We ARE all brothers and sisters, because we are all humans beings, even if we are different. There is no racism in recognizing that different peoples and cultures have many things in common, that is a fact. Take time to look things up before you attack anyone on the internet.
Be proud of who you are my friend, Europe is not dead
🖤
💜 one love 💜
As an American metal fan, I really enjoy seeing music like this from any non English speaking band and non "modern" styles of music trend alot more recently. This song is a masterpiece even though I don't understand a word of it. Good music transcends spoken language and speaks musically universally.
check out Wardruna Helvegen with Aurora, and Heilung In Maidjan
Damn well said. Good music is universally appreciated by the ears.
Yes
No one cares if you're an "American metal fan" it doesn't mean anything in liking a song
@@tobiasdogford222 no it wasn't, that "well said" has already been said but tons and tons of people
Ваша группа-это сокровище. Большое спасибо, что вкладываете столько силы и смыслов в свое творчество !!!
I've recently noticed that music like this has been trending and becoming very popular lately, from Mongolia to the nordics to just about everywhere so far. I've even seen stuff like this coming from south america.
Paganism is roots of European belive..music like this simply show our true face...
It’s just a trend really
@@RuneOfRivendell yes it is trend..but look on metal bands..from Germany..Norway..Sweden..Viking metal...folk metal..all have some influence from paganism..

I have stumbled upon this band since falling in love with Heilung and Skald. I am not disappointed. 🤘🏼🖤
Precisely the two bands I was thinking of. Looks like this neo-folk stuff is getting more popular across the metal community with good reason. Just need Danheim to sign with Napalm or Season of Mist and we’ve got another Norse powerhouse in our ranks
I had the exact same experience. Sometimes RUclips gets things very right.
@@deanfensham7535 exactly! Went down the RUclips rabbit hole and now I have a whole badass Viking playlist 🙌🏼
Same
Also wardruna Is a killer one
It is kinda crazy how simply focusing on song structure and mixing can change the dynamic of a band. Nytt Land has always been good, no doubt. Yet, this album seems like a major production, with a focus on structure, composure, and overall quality being ramped up. Even at their most complex prior, it didn't have THIS level of production and very thought-out song structure. The throat singing was a part of it, now it's both lyrical and added as part of the ambiance. The mixing is WAY better, like whoever is producing this is doing an outstanding job.
I feel they still sound 1000's times better live. they cant get the magic of her voice in production or they take it out, its weird to explain but when u see them live and hear them here though its amazing its missing her real energy.
@@thedarkmyth8076 Bands like this are usually at their best live as they are meant to be experienced, not just listened to in your living room with a cup of coffee. Heilung is another one whose songs are basically a demo for the real thing.
Imagine a Tour together with HEILUNG/WARDRUNA & NYTT LAND !!!!
Tour with Wardruna already was at 2017 in Russia

I think that every culture, when we were all ONE in the ancient past sang like this together, and we understood one another. But there are still places where people still remember and sing like this; the Altai region of Siberia, Turkic People's (who span Europe, Asia and Africa) The Scandinavian and the Norse Countries. Its one of the Mothertongues. It belongs to each and every one of us, that's why when someone sings like this it resonates with our true being. Its cathartic. It stirs something deep within. It wakes us up. Helps us to remember. And then we find our peace. Its not a "faze." It is a collective remembrance.
I am 12 and this is deep.
Thank you for your nice and knowledgeable comment, Timuçin from Turkey, first of all, I am pleased. I believe in the Old Turkish religion Tengrism and the number of Tengrists in Turkey is increasing significantly, likewise, the Central Asian Siberian Turks are returning to Tengrism, Tengriism, paganism, shamanism, these are kind of sister religions, beliefs, if you look at history, the Turks are Mongols. The homeland of Scandinavians and many peoples is Siberia, yes, we are brothers, we are the Turanian nation, we are of the same race. People realize this, albeit slowly.
You're touching on a very obscured fact.
Incredible music. It has Slavic, Native, Norse and Germanic influence all the same time. Very cathartic vibe. Beautiful.
Not native but the rest yea
@@Tysandifer in fact, that's what this should be closest to.
This is actually from siberian tribal culture, which is distantly related to north american native culture.
North american natives migrated there from europe during the last ice age and have their original roots in Siberia and Finland. You'll even see that finnish Sami people look very similar and have similar traditions to some american natives, and that there's similar tribes all around that historic migration path (or at least used to, they were historically persecuted quite often).
Nytt Land use norse/germanic (which is broadly the same, btw, the norse were one bigger germanic tribe and just survived christianization longer) cultural themes as inspiration for some of their songs, but culturally they're rooted in Siberian animism, which is close to American native culture.
In fact, the one culture that doesn't play much into this is slavic.
And it has many similarities with sardinian music.
@@Tacklepig i would say its less Siberian native which has more of a mongolian sound. This sounds like Saami folk music. The Saami are the people who live in the northern portions of Scandinavia. They are an interesting people having something in common with the native tribes from Siberia to the Americas.
@@JosephDawson1986 Yes. It's much more like Mongolian & Turkish.
as some one who follows the old ways of the Norse and having Norwegian and Scandinavian ancestors this song speaks volumes as to staying connected to them and the ways of old. I love this and appreciate you guys keeping the ways of our ancestors alive
*What does the group living in Omsk have to do with Scandinavia and their ancestors, are you probably delusional?*
This is not scandinavian, this one is siberian influenced music, although most of ther music is Scandinavian.
But you are welcomed to enjoy our type of music aswell
