British Steam Whistles Vs. One American Steam Whistle (watch to the end)

Just for the record don't take this as an insult or anything, I actually think European steam whistles have a very interesting sound to them that I kinda like, it's just that American steam whistles have more attitude to them, and I just thought that I can put together a short little video of hearing the difference between these whistles and kinda have a little bit of fun you know.

I mean British whistles are still pretty loud just like American whistles, they're hooter whistles that's all they are, it's just that they don't have that mean aggressive tone like American whistles do and we also have whistles that sound smooth and not as aggressive like hooters and 3 chimes. I mean I the British whistles don't get me wrong, it's just that the 5 and 6 chimers that we made back then have a much more aggressive mean tone that I really like.

American whistles are beautiful in their multi-tone glory.
In America we call the British whistles 'Banshee Whistles', very similar to those used by the Pennsylvania Railroad. 🚂
