@@wb6mc129 Probably because NASA's expenses still seems to be sky high even after all these decades, since they pioneered in trying out new technology, not so much in making them more efficient and cheaper to use. Pioneering new technology ain't cheap, but NASA has more budget than anyone else, so making things affordable is secondary to making a quality product for their ambitions.
While I might agree if this was the case in any other field, I'd like to point out that even if NASA was a pioneer, India or any other country was never a follower in the sense that there was no technology exchange happening. @@gowthamsubramaniam3475 well it does motivate people, that's true. Movie like martian is based on the facts and fiction, those facts come from these real space missions.
That aside a movie only returns money, momentarily satisfaction and motivation.
Both are important but real scientific space missions are the most important and essential one. How frustrating it is to see that organization like isro is always looking for budget, they are only limited by money otherwise they are limitless. The things you saw in Martian movie, isro can make it happen if they have no money problems.
I don't think it's anything about humiliating NASA cuz we Indians quite admire NASA's work , it's a win win situation for humanity.

@@hrithikpatel3444 but still, humiliating is a harsher term
NASA is given enormous funds, the figure is in billion USD. ISRO on the other hand is at its best in utilising the resources it has.

ISRO did a soft landing on Moon today with Chandrayaan III, the Pragyan rover got deployed on the Lunar surface few hours back. The budget of Making Interstellar Movie was $165 Millions, the Budget of Chandrayaan III is $75 Millions. That's ISRO for you.
Damn
This is ridiculous.
1. ISRO does not see things in terms of ‘humiliating NASA’.
2. ISRO is underpaying its engineers.
3. ISRO utilizes solid rocket motors, that is ballistic technology nowhere near NASA’s advanced propulsion systems.
4. ISRO’s maximum lift capability to LEO is 5.3 tons
5. Saturn V could lift 130 tons to LEO and 43 tons to the moon.
6. Delta IV, just retired NASA vehicle could lift 14ons to GTO
7. SLS can lift a ridiculous 70 tons to the moon, and that is not including start ship, and others
So, if you think ISRO is in competition with NASA, you are smoking something, ISRO and NASA are partners, and ISRO is a junior partner, even smaller than JAXA and ESA.
This is not a bad thing. UAE’S UAESA and Kenya’s KSA are also Artemis partners.
@@Posting-Maharashtra Bro, there's no competition, first of all ISRO was founded in 1969 and NASA in 1958 that's almost 10 years of gap, then India was looted by Britain of $45 trillion in 1947. You’re right that it is often surface level information. But I think people enjoy consuming such info in the form of a video. Most RUclips viewers including myself aren’t looking for college lectures on RUclips. We’re often just looking to learn about the highlights of various developments around the world in an easy to understand manner.

@Achacha Achacha Our first one launched immediately after theirs. PSLV C34/C35.
U mean the PISat? So cool
Just see how far has ISRO come
It's first mission was from a tree just imagine how we came such a long way
To be fair ISRO is truly low budget low tech compared to NASA. There is no comparison between the two.
Fun fact: Usa and other countries refused to help India with technology, so India developed many parts indigenously.
India has risen up in space technology in such a short time. Compared to other advanced countries.
well It's mainly because of the fact that those countries who built earlier space agencies has not enough foundation to built on, but right now space X, NASA and etc had already made scientific breakthroughs, researches and innovation to space exploration that other space agencies can build foundation from. Without a doubt even though India's space station is independent the science of how they manage the system is inspired from the earlier space stations knowledge. Also it is not surprising how fast India risen in space technology, India is like the 6th or 5th richest country in the world, the only reason why India has a bad reputation is because of how concentrated the money is to upper middle class and above, India is rich that has a lot of poor people. Plus basing on this India is pulling a lot of budget for this so its really not surprising to see how fast it is. Btw I'm not here to be that one person who just wants to disagree, I just really think of it this way. Nor I am an american who just wanna feel superior, I'm Asian.
@@ralphralph5990 but science is beyond borders USA scientists should be helping indians instead they always have had a very arrogant attitude
I don't know why foreigners are jealous of india. They should share tech.
@@JustAPokemonCommentingOnVideos NASA did not help Indians with engines because the engines that ISRO needed could also be used to develop ballistic missiles, people seem to forget that NASA is also run by smart people
@@JustAPokemonCommentingOnVideosuh.. USA is not entitled to help ISRO or any other org if they don't want to, which is fair why would you wanna help your direct rising competitor lol

@@randellgribben9772 I fear you may be right
I'm proud of ISRO.
But There is a difference between pioneer and followers.
We must respect the engineers who contributed for the first space program in NASA.
They are the pioneers in space and if you do it for the first time it comes with its own cost.
Right
So many people are comparing the two trying to put the other down, they're space programs can't we appreciate both?
@@wb6mc129 Probably because NASA's expenses still seems to be sky high even after all these decades, since they pioneered in trying out new technology, not so much in making them more efficient and cheaper to use. These days NASA delegates such tasks by contracting private companies such as SpaceX for earth related missions since they could do it for much cheaper, while they focus on developing technology to study what lies much further.
Pioneering new technology ain't cheap, but NASA has more budget than anyone else, so making things affordable is secondary to making a quality product for their ambitions.
@@wb6mc129 yes.... Any genuine guy will do the same..... In space programs politics always made destruction. Roscosmos dealt with it.!
While I might agree if this was the case in any other field, I'd like to point out that even if NASA was a pioneer, India or any other country was never a follower in the sense that there was no technology exchange happening. Every country put their smartest minds on work to develop their own authentic space program.
Saying that NASA was a pioneer and every other country was just a follower is completely wrong and brings shame to all those hard working minds.
Chandrayaan 3 is going to be amazing. And this time I think this one has no chance of failure.
They will be successful the when they try again for the following reasons:-
- The GSLV mk3 has had 0 mission failures, so the rocket can't pose a threat to the mission.
- ISRO has successfully done the gravity assist maneuver around 3 times.
- They've entered lunar orbit 2 times.
- ISRO has gathered information from previous missions to prevent Chandrayaan 3 from failing.
You guys call it cheap labour,my friend recently started working at isro as an engineer, and he's earning a lot. Compared to Indian standards. He bought a new suv car and rebuild his house in the three years he's been employed. We can literally get peak nutritional food at 1/10th the US price here
Exactly
When comparing GDP per capita, one should also take purchasing power. Here where I live 1 USD(currently 83 INR) can buy a scrumptious meal big enough to be your lunch/dinner. Smaller dhabas charge even lesser than that at around 50 INR

This is a good researched feature, you have brought back the names of such scientists we almost forgot..
I noticed, whenever there is somebody who does something better than the west, the west stays silent in the comment section.
I have noticed this even in conversation where many westerners especially american people live under the fallacy that they are epitome of greatness in everything
Actually westerners don't care about other countries, they don't even care if people talk about their country. We Indians are the insecure ones who are always eager to hear what world thinks about us. If this was a NASA video you still would not find Americans saying "our country is the best" Or "NASA is so cool", you know why? Cause all this is common for them, literally everyone knows that America is a super power in the world now, so westerners don't really care
Partly true, It depends from people to people. Both groups exists, there are racists western people all over the western world who underestimates the potential and capabilities of other 3rd world countries.
Whereas, I have noticed Indians are over patriotic for no reason at times

It is a great execution from ISRO. I hope the salaries and other allowances for these hardworking engineers match up to NASA's operational cost. Even with just 10% of the overall cost, - these engineers could get an uplift in their lifestyle for working so hard for the nation!
