Back in the days when ISRO was just getting started almost everyone laughed upon us for being a poverty-stricken country that wanted to have a space agency but it's all thanks to our leader Vikram Sarabhai who saw this as an important tool to fix our looted society. It is his ardent desire to use space for the common people and make others realise his dream which really paid of. He is truly a lost gem of INDIA and in a broader sense to the WORLD itself.

      This is ridiculous.
      1. ISRO does not see things in terms of ‘humiliating NASA’.
      2. ISRO is underpaying its engineers.
      3. ISRO utilizes solid rocket motors, that is ballistic technology nowhere near NASA’s advanced propulsion systems.
      4. ISRO’s maximum lift capability to LEO is 5.3 tons
      5. Saturn V could lift 130 tons to LEO and 43 tons to the moon.
      6. Delta IV, just retired NASA vehicle could lift 14ons to GTO
      7. SLS can lift a ridiculous 70 tons to the moon, and that is not including start ship, and others
So, if you think ISRO is in competition with NASA, you are smoking something, ISRO and NASA are partners, and ISRO is a junior partner, even smaller than JAXA and ESA.
This is not a bad thing. UAE’S UAESA and Kenya’s KSA are also Artemis partners.

@Aadi Ringay And this matters why? The context is in the decades of NOT contributing the the development of rocket and space technologies, then AFTER all the trillions of dollars, decades of research and development, and lives lost they make a rocket for cheaper without as many failures and we're supposed to FORGET that 90% of everything they are doing with that launch was provided by others, from concept to launch?
Feelings are not facts, but if they were, then why isn't the feelings of the literally TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE who spent decades and fortunes ACTUALLY developing the base for all space technologies today taken into account?
Oh, that's right, because the argument you are carrying is baseless.

    • @ralphralph5990

well It's mainly because of the fact that those countries who built earlier space agencies has not enough foundation to built on, but right now space X, NASA and etc had already made scientific breakthroughs, researches and innovation to space exploration that other space agencies can build foundation from. Without a doubt even though India's space station is independent the science of how they manage the system is inspired from the earlier space stations knowledge. Also it is not surprising how fast India risen in space technology, India is like the 6th or 5th richest country in the world, the only reason why India has a bad reputation is because of how concentrated the money is to upper middle class and above, India is rich that has a lot of poor people. Plus basing on this India is pulling a lot of budget for this so its really not surprising to see how fast it is. Btw I'm not here to be that one person who just wants to disagree, I just really think of it this way. Nor I am an american who just wanna feel superior, I'm Asian.

Yes the launch was cheaper and that should be acknowledged but we should also acknowledged that it was a lighter craft and less scientifically capable then NASA. It will do what it is suppose to well but will not have as broad missions. The larges cost in most programs is personal and the cost to work in the US (i.e pay to employees) is significantly higher.

I noticed, whenever there is somebody who does something better than the west, the west stays silent in the comment section.
I have noticed this even in conversation where many westerners especially american people live under the fallacy that they are epitome of greatness in everything

    • @theguywhoasked4235
      @theguywhoasked4235 3 года назад +38

Actually westerners don't care about other countries, they don't even care if people talk about their country. We Indians are the insecure ones who are always eager to hear what world thinks about us. If this was a NASA video you still would not find Americans saying "our country is the best" Or "NASA is so cool", you know why? Cause all this is common for them, literally everyone knows that America is a super power in the world now, so westerners don't really care

Partly true, It depends from people to people. Both groups exists, there are racists western people all over the western world who underestimates the potential and capabilities of other 3rd world countries.

This video is a joke.. I am from South Asia... No disrespect. How do you compare the amount of innovation, research and development NASA has put over the years.. India is just sending objects to space now with already known knowledge.. Don't humiliate the hard work people have put all these years to make space exploration possible for everyone. You can say how cost-effective ISRO can work on publicly known knowledge or theories. Have they made any new contributions to science. Then IMO it's really worth bragging about.

As someone who works in the U.S. aerospace industry for a while now and has dealt with program management, you can't simply compare budgets like this. If you account for cost of living and take home salaries in India vs U.S., the weighted budgets differences are a lot less drastic. Of course, not to downplay what they are able to achieve, which is still amazing regardless. And the U.S. Space Program has a lot of requirements that adds to the cost (some that are bureaucratic in nature while others are done in excess and inefficiently obviously). It also takes a lot more resources to develop technology at the forefront versus already seeing it done and building on top of existing lessons learned.

It seems you are living in US and that you aren't able to digest the truth and the reality.
It's about budget in terms of USD for both ISRO and NASA; and not in terms of USD vs INR.
