Sincere white people who want to preserve their culture and family line, deliberately marry white people, not because they hate other races but because that's their preference. The same with Asians. The same with Hawaiians. The same with Native Americans. The same with Africans. The same with people from Latin America. And on and on and on. We always allow other people to judge us more harshly than anyone else and we judge each other and our community for desiring authentic preservation of our genealogical preservation and our cultural preservation just as populatios in every race are doing and have done historically. And mixed race people trying to make everything about being mixed race is lame and boring at this point. bleh...

    Of course Al and Claudia are going to disagree, they're biracial. Lmao! Terms have meanings. Everybody doesn't need to try to fit into every term. If you are a Black person that doesn't prioritize creating a Black family or partnering with a Black person, you're not "Pro Black". That doesn't mean you don't love, support or aren't invested in the wellbeing of your people. You can still be love and support your people and date outside of your race. You just aren't "Pro Black". "Pro Black" is a specific ideology and at the core of the that is the advancement of Black families. If that isn't a priority for you in your own romantic life, then why would you even consider yourself "Pro Black". People need to stop trying to make everything "inclusive" of everyone. It's okay, just live in your truth.

I have lived in Riverside County, CA since the 80's and have been divorced for almost as long as I have lived here therefore, the comment about the UC Riverside's Black Studies Program Director's and their non-white spouses did not surprise me one bit. It's normal here. I believe that we are less than three percent here. That said, I have never dated outside of my race, which means I rarely if ever date at all. I agree with JenJHayden, it's a preference. I admit that in all likelihood, I'm probably programmed but I'm just not attracted to men in any other ethnicity. My preference is to not betray myself by settling. If I end up alone, so be it!

    NO! You cannot be a proBlack/African, African American and date interracially.*
    (There are a FEW exceptions if you live in a place where there are few AAs or as an AAW you result to dating outside your race because so many AAM are known to date outside theirs.)
    But a key part of being proBlack/African is to build/maintain strong AA families. Marrying outside of your race is contradictory.
    P.S I accept people who are HALF (NOT 1/4 or 1/8) as African American. I think it is possible for them to be proBlack (ie Jesse Williams).
    But society requires if you are half AA and half whyte to choose. If you marry someone nonBlack you have chosen to live as a whyte or other. And you have chosen to have whyte or other kids, since 1/4 African doesn't qualify as Black/African

    Who said pro-black only means propagating the black race through reproduction? So if you can't have children and reproduce then you can't be pro-black? Linking being pro-black to reproduction is weird.

    1)Yes you can. 2) Just because you’re black and have a black spouse doesn’t mean you’re advancing the race by any means 3) if you’re non-black partner is an ally then it’s fine
    Being pro black is advancing the race through financial, social,educational means, etc. We all know that saying “all skinfolk ain’t kinfolk” so if you or your partner whether black or not isn’t an ally, isn’t actively contributing towards our collective advancement then you’re not pro-black. So white, black, polka dot, stripes, whatever you want to call yourself it doesn’t matter. Like for instance, I’m support civil rights for everyone. I’ve actively supported various causes outside my race, gender, economic, social and sexuality and I’m a straight, black, “cis gender” woman. You can be pro anything. If you’re actively trying to advance a cause or community. And I don’t know of any pro Black activists that has a spouse who isn’t an ally.

    • @jaccl4539
      @jaccl4539 3 месяца назад +2

      I see what you tried to do but no - in short ally or supporter is not interchangeable with Pro-Black and yes being black does not make you pro-black and yes being black and not marrying black is not pro black - doesn't negate you being a supporter or ally.
      To be blunt, Pro-Black is not a catchall phrase for doing something that adds to black value.

As long as they not talking bad about their own race or doing harm who cares. It be the most so called pro black people who be causing the most division and harm. They always trying to define you not black enough.
