I really like how you always take very good care of the floors in the cows living areas. Some milk farms are horrible at that and have lots of injuries and accidents because of it. Its nice to see how good you and your family, and workers all take good care of the cattle. Great video thank you for sharing. 😁👍🏻🐄
I was just going to make a similar comment. Eric really puts the animals first. He commented a while back the worst thing about dairy farming is when the animals get sick. That's says so much about him. Good dude that can dunk from the foul line...
Yeah, I agree with others, I haven't seen the burning off of hair on the cows utters before. Good job on the work shop clean-up and anchoring of the work bench, a solid one is real important. Thanks for sharing, have a nice week, stay safe!
I like your dad when he says, " It really doesn't hurt much. Eric, run your hand over it and show them ". HAHA. It's like the old Wild Kingdom TV show where Marlon Perkins would say, " I'll sit here and drink a cappuccino while my assistant Jim wrestles with the killer Python."
I cringed every time that flame thrower..I mean udder singe was put under the ladies! Very interesting video and all of the new babies look great! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Eric - love your channel. Just FYI but use caution when securing that workbench to the floor & wall. If it's a standard pole barn build, then the concrete slab is a "floating slab" and shifts independently from the walls during frost heaving. It can create issues if the slab tries to heave but it's being held down due to being tied to the wall. This is why the floor is poured last in a pole barn build. Keep up the great video, really enjoy watching them!
Good job we have to do ours in the parlour ( turns a herringbone into a rapid exit !! ) we also keep the tails clipped which I think keeps the udders & teats cleaner

I never knew farmers burned the hair off the utters definitely makes sense when you explained it and your dad and you did a good job cleaning the shop up
Just watching you guys get so close to them from behind like that almost gives me anxiety, knowing what a cow's back leg can do even when they're perfectly unharmed yet not sure what's going on 😂 Only place I've seen that done is in the milking parlor.
Another great video. Your farm is always so clean and in tip top shape. The parlor is amazingly spotless. Testament to all the dedication and hard work.
Love your videos always entertaining. Thanks for all the videos. I can only imagine how much it takes to video and work while still being productive. Hats off to you 👍👍
Have to be honest when I first saw the title I was a bit reluctant to watch. But after y’all’s explanation and seeing it done felt much better. I got a pretty good burn as a kid from popcorn popper oil as a teen …no long term effects at all. But anything relating to burns is hinky for me to this day even at 61. Good video as always 10th Gen!👍🙏🇺🇸
Hey man love the channel I'm a dairy farmer in New Zealand. Have you thought about cutting and squaring off that tool you use to open the curtains on your Calving pens so you can attach a drill to it? Would save so much time I rekon
Great video, I really enjoyed seeing the day to day! I have questions of like.... when did you start on the farm? We see you're married, any kids? Who's the Mrs'? How many cows? And plenty more. If you've already answered these, plz direct me to the videos, plz. Cheers from Texas...
Do you have a video showing where the milk goes once it leaves the cow? I'd like to see where it goes from your farm and then the processing and packaging of the products
I sure do like the combo of shavings and chopped straw…way easier to clean out than the un-chopped straw!! First time I have seen the singeing tool; so mush faster than clipping. Great video Eric.
Wow! You could have a lot more clickbait with a closeup of the flame on the udders and a title like "Flaming teats" or "Udderly hot 🔥" on your thumbnail for the video. Singeing udders. Who knew? I always learn something from your videos.
We never singed the udders, always clipped them, and shortened tails. Nothing worse than getting a urine and manure -soaked tail in the mouth. In the milking parlors I worked in the milker went on from the side, and tails could hit you. In your parlor, putting milkers on from the rear, there is less chance of a tail in the face. lol
Great to see the hair singeing - working smart is the way to go. I've seen where some Turkish barbers💈do hair singeing for customer's ear hair to so 'it's a thing' - maybe the cows like the premium service🐄.
Never seen that done before, though we've had some sale heifers that some people used a torch to burn off all their long hair with instead of using a clipper. They didn't like that either!
I briefly looked at your video title "Singeing Udders" and I thought it said "Singing Udders" I was slightly disappointed to not hear a musical udder choir.
Let's just appreciate the fact that they are a good family. Running a farm the best way they can. And they care about their stock.
Like a “Far Side” comic. One cow says to the other, “He’s going to do WHAT? WHERE?”

Can not agree more. Besides feeding he is always cleaning.
Interesting about the udder singeing. It was great following your different chores today. Thanks.
I'd never seen the utters singed before. Very interesting.
I was utterly surprised. 😉 Maybe try it the udder way?
Someone had to go there, 😂

Just did all of our cows Monday. Our SCC dropped 20 points in 2 days. Not my favorite job, but glad I did it!
Wow! hopefully that happens here

I’ll never look at a jug of milk the same again. Wow, all the work that goes on behind the scenes. You Dairy people Rock!
Lololol
😂
Being a farmer is a lot of hard work. I admire your dedication to quality.
If burning hair hurt the cows they’d be bucking like crazy.
i dont think ive seen a comment from anyone saying its a bad thing.
I cringed every time that flame thrower..I mean udder singe was put under the ladies! Very interesting video and all of the new babies look great! Thanks for sharing.
A good farmers work is never done !! You do a great job keeping your pens cleaned out for the cows and calves .. that’s great ! Keep up the good job !
I've never seen or heard of singeing udders before. Nice work

Thanks, I get what your saying but the table should have enough flex that I doubt it would be an issue.
Always a pleasure to hear the dad talk!
People will remember cow singeing and make in a expected event next year for sure ;DDD
Always something to do on the farm thank you so much.
Eric is like, "yeah dad, I can run my hand over it, but im not gonna." So dad does it. :-)
Haha I did too just had a better clip of him
Good job we have to do ours in the parlour ( turns a herringbone into a rapid exit !! ) we also keep the tails clipped which I think keeps the udders & teats cleaner
Hey Eric this is a farmer from South Korea, as a beginner, I learn anlot from you everyday, thansk for your video. !!
Love using the tapcons make thing so much easier. Good job.
I was waiting for one of the cow's tails to catch fire when they were singeing.
The tail hair is a lot thicker so it won't catch easily
Thanks for the video. I always appreciate the time it takes you to film and edit.
Learned something new!! Singing hair off the udders!! Who knew that was a problem? Always interesting on your channel!
another great video Eric. Thank you very much.
My sweet wife refers to your RUclips channel as the one "that does everything the right way!".
Eric really puts the animals first. He commented a while back the worst thing about dairy farming is when the animals get sick. That's says so much about him. Good dude that can dunk from the foul line...
I love this channel. No nonsense farming. Top content 👌
I never knew farmers burned the hair off the utters definitely makes sense when you explained it and your dad and you did a good job cleaning the shop up
I'm glad I saw your video today. I've never heard of a cow hair burning tool before. Cool. Thank you.
Love when you guys do improvisational maintenance !
I just had an idea which I can now work into my plan on getting into the manscaping industry. Thanks 10th Generation Dairyman!
Learning something new everyday.
Udderly amazing
Y’all have a nice setup for your calves. You have a nice dairy operation all together.
I kept worrying that a cow was about to kick while getting singed. Your face was right there
Brings new meaning to "lighting a fire under your a$$".
I have never heard of singeing the hair off the udders. Thanks for the education!
Very thorough work you do. It shows in how clean the cows are
Awesome job. God Bless all
Just watching you guys get so close to them from behind like that almost gives me anxiety, knowing what a cow's back leg can do even when they're perfectly unharmed yet not sure what's going on 😂
Only place I've seen that done is in the milking parlor.
Never had heard of that. Makes sense to me now. Thanks
Awesome Video as Always!!
Never seen that before. With the fire on the cows. Great video. From the imperial co California.
Another great video. Your farm is always so clean and in tip top shape. The parlor is amazingly spotless. Testament to all the dedication and hard work.
All I was thinking was "Warm milk!" Guess it should be warmER milk. 😂😂
Love your videos always entertaining. Thanks for all the videos. I can only imagine how much it takes to video and work while still being productive. Hats off to you 👍👍
In the Netherlands we do IT also that way with the utters
Udders*
Dairy farming is the most time intensive occupation that I know of. Good for you guys.
There is nothing better than a clean shop or garage mmmmmm
14:18 - Farmer test, don't need any stinking engineer to know it's strong enough

Been watching cow channels for a while. First time I ever heard or saw this. Super interesting!
The calves are so cute, the one trying to bunt the other ones utter was funny ... just trying to get meal from anywhere

Always enjoy your videos, Eric! For some reason watching you attach the work table to the floor was very satisfying! Lol
Wood shavings and straw The snuggle Factor
Thnx for another interresting vid. Ever thought about keeping/raising a bull calf just for fun?
I have in the past a few times
Eric's specialty in bovine beauty is giving each girl a "cowzillian." 😉
I think Everyone was secretly hoping one of them would of let a gasser go just as flame passed by. 🔥
Those calves are entirely too cute with their little jackets on
It takes time to finish projects when you need to use them yesterday 🤗
Great video young man.
Thanks for another great video god bless
I was like “Dang! Singing udders hey “
Lol
I thought for sure we'd get a chocolate milk appearing from a singed udder.
More Chocolate Milk! I thought for sure when you reached in to the bins that you'd grab a milk.
Chocolate milk flambe...maybe???!
Very good video eric
WOW, singeing the hair. I’ve never seen that.🤔

Those cows must think you guys are weird. lol
Never seen that done before, great idea how to keep the cows clean,👍👍
1% better every day. good work.
Never heard of this before. I learned something new.
Very interesting how you look after those ladies ! Its like getting them to the beauty parlour !
Yeah, I clearly misread the title to this video. I thought it said SINGING udders 😆
Great awesome video Eric
There's a certain part of my anatomy that was VERY uncomfortable with that singeing operation!
Enjoyed the video.
Great video Eric, fascinating content! 👍🏻
Getting rid of the hair on their utters will make it faster and you won’t need to rub all that dirt of. I bet they appreciate it
We singed in the parlor and the cows hated it and the smell. All three groups were on alert.
Wow! You could have a lot more clickbait with a closeup of the flame on the udders and a title like "Flaming teats" or "Udderly hot 🔥" on your thumbnail for the video.
Singeing udders. Who knew? I always learn something from your videos.
You are hired to do the Titles from now on!!!
@@jesusisGod1434 Lol
When you say it's time to go feed cows I wish you'd take us with you!
He has lots of videos showing that on his channel
Do you have DEF on your Kubota? Sounds like your DEF regeneration notification was going off.
Wow those cows do love you coz you should have recieved several kicks when Singeing . Lol
Thank you for all the entertainment and knowledge ❤️

Course the calf pees in the fresh pen as soon as he’s in lol

Right! This is how I shave 🪒 in the mornings! Gotta watch those eyebrows though! 😜🤓😎🤣

Eric is it hard to find wood shaving up by you guys and wood shaving cost high or low
It's like cow choreography when you milk the cows!
I do this always when the cow starts a new lactation.
That was interesting! Great video.
I just have to thank God that I'm not a cow. I would never want my girls to be singed!
