- The second jam from when I sat down with my two arturia synths. This time the brute is doing the bass and the freak an arpeggio on top. Gotta love these synths, especially considering the price!
Line 6 M5 is adding the delay to the microfreak. The micro brute is going through the tc electronic skysurfer for reverb.
Excellent sound, thanks. But even more: this is exactly what I needed to see and hear because I just purchased both synths used and was looking for ways that I can explore their sounds. You gave me confidence that my purchases were the right decision. Thanks for this post.
Thanks! Can't go wrong with those two. I hope you are enjoying your arturia duo!
@@easytiger1452 As a guitarist, I own a whole lot of very high end guitar effect pedals. That completes the only aspect of these machines that might give someone pause, their lack of effects. Plugged into my Strymon, Chase Bliss, EQD and Meris effects, both these units can soar up to the heavens. Yeah, I am in deep enjoyment phase right now. Cheers.
This is pretty extraordinary work from such budget boxes but tell me, did you link anything up with Midi, presumably the delay?
Thank you! No, not in this one. the delay is free running.
This restored my faith in the Microbrute. I was afraid that it couldn't produce sounds that I wanted. Now I know it can, it's just me not being experienced enough with it. Love how they complement each other.
The microbrute is very versatile, but it requires time with it to get the most out of it. I think it will be considered a classic in the future.
I use M5 Stompbox also. Works better with keys and synthesizer than guitar imop.
That sounds great.
Thanks
Wonderful!
How can you compare them when your using both at the same time What makes them different from each other ?
this wasn't really meant as a comparison, but since your asking: they are very different from each other and because of that I think kind of hard to compare. The brute is analog, strictly mono, with a very aggressive Steiner-Parker filter, a built-in feedback loop and some patch points for connecting to modular stuff. The freak is digital with an analog 2-pole filter (very tame in comparison to the brute, but nice nonetheless), plays four voices paraphonically, has a wide array of digital oscillator types and a weird keyboard. It's also very light and can easily be powered by a powerbank. The brute you need to plug into the wall.
