Gabrielle was so unbearable most of the time from mid-seas4 and on. Xena asked for some space, which is totally understandable in any kind of relationship (no question about it) yet the irritating sidekick risked her life, brunhilda’s and beowulf’s (whom was quite great character) just to oppose with xenas arguments once again, this feels like the ‘’debt’’ all over again. Remember what xena said in 5x07 ‘’I need absolute clarity, you’ll only be a distraction’’xena was more skilled than gabrielle so she knew how to protect herself gabrielle regardless disobeyed xena putting everyone’s life in danger most notably in the next episode where she dismissively contradicted to xena by saying ‘’ I never listen’’. That’s very hypocritical of hers, one moment she feels guilty for killing an innocent person and the second she’s all over the map and ‘’never listens’’. Also I don’t get why literally every guest character had to fall in love necessarily with gabrielle? Its getting to be a REAL DRAG having gabrielle play the hero while she completely sucks and acts so frivolously simply bcuz she does not want to be overshadowed by xena not to mention the constant ‘’we’re soulmates’ theory . You don’t have to say the ultimate understatement while its confirmed, in so many ways, in every single episode
I think when Xena would leave Gabrielle and go on these solo missions, something from her past, Xena probably didn't think she was going to come out of it alive. Gabrielle knew that and there was no way she was going to let Xena get herself killed. At this point Gabrielle has been trained by Xena and the Amazons and has become a strong fighter, she could hold her own. I never found Gabrielle to be annoying. She was loyal to Xena from the start. Her youth and inexperience got her into trouble early on, but in the end she was the last one standing.
@@ginay8800 I agree with your take. Xena had a tendency to go solo everytime she felt sacrificing her life. That is ultimately what happened in Friend In Need aswell.
I hope they upload the scene in the snowy field where evil Xena lands on her horse and drags her sword on the snow with that crazed look on her face. That's such a cool scene!
I am a massive Xena fan . I have been since it first aired a long time ago …I even have her chakram tattooed on my inner wrist . But tbh I really haven’t watched much of seasons 4-6 . It got too weird and often for me unxena like . However episodes like this I love ! just good old fashion Xena action kicking monster/bad guy butt 😀
I'd like to see second daughter or great niece of Gabrielle name after xena it would be great story passing on legend here warrior princess&I'd love to see granddaughter of xena as a sidekick?

??? Explain to me what Gabrielle should have done differently. Gabrielle didn't ask Brunhilda to turn herself into the flame, and Brunhilda volunteered for everything that she did for Gabrielle. Gabrielle was up-front with her the whole time about exactly what she was after: Xena. She was very clear about her single-minded drive to find Xena, and told Brunhilda in no uncertain terms that she was not going to be with her before Brunhilda turned herself into the flame. And the single most ridiculous thing you have written here? "you can definitely tell how slanted the writing was towards X/G in the 6th season".... um, of COURSE it is!? X/G are the center of the show, idk what show you've been watching where it's different. Gabrielle doesn't owe Brunhilda anything just because Brunhilda fell in love with her, in fact Brunhilda completely disregarded Gabrielle's rejection and wanted to "prove" she should be with her instead of Xena. Brunhilda's hurt was born from Brunhilda's delusional denial of Gabrielle's true feelings, not through any fault of Gabrielle's. So no, Brunhilda DIDN'T deserve better, she made her own bed.
I can't help but think that the whole Xena series could be adapted to a movie Trilogy, or maybe more films. So much material to explore. This could be an epic fantasy/action/adventure saga, just like Harry Potter/Lord of The Rings was.
@@suzanneflowers2230 that would be amazing. I would love to see the original creators involved in the production/direction of the project; totally agree. Although I would trust directors like Peter Jackson, Guillermo Del Toro or even Tim Burton on a Project of that level. It HAS to be epic.
