I've been in Panama and Guyana and sometimes the spider monkeys will get afraid or territorial and climb up a big tree about 100 ft and start breaking off dead limbs and throwing them at you.......

Many of the deep jungle tribes that don't live right on a river really struggle for food. Some eat grubs as their main sources of fat and protein. That's rough. In the 1600s or so the coastal natives were cannibals and preyed on the Amerindians in the interior until the Spanish put a bounty on cannibals. I've been to a spit in Guyana where they slaughtered Amerindians and had basically a huge human BBQ. Rough stuff. There is a village called Surama. In Makushi language the word Surama means "human barbecue burn". Pretty solemn origin...
