I did the Aiguille d'Entreves last week - great route. A longer walk in (from the Torino Hut) and lots of exposure. Difficulty-wise they're both AD. A really good day out would be a very early start, then do Arete Lawrence followed by the Arete des Cosmiques, with a stop for a coffee or lunch in the Cosmiques hut. Then back to Chamonix for tea and medals.
From the Cosmiques Hut it took us about 6 hours. We had some trouble finding the abseils on the North Face (Abseiling on the South Face is no longer recommended) and then we found a queue at the crux. It shouldn't take that long on average.
The abseils is a concern to me too. Would like to climb without a guide, but don’t know how to find the Anchors of the abseils. Also it’s needed to hurry up not to miss the gondola back to town. Since the approach may take more than one and a half hour.
@Albino Mattos Filho I think if both you and your partner can move together for most of the climb then you should make it back to the station on time (first lift for climbers is at around 6:30 AM). Otherwise, you can stay the night before at the Cosmiques Hut like we did. Send me a message on IG if you need more details about the abseils and I can share some beta.
Andres Vourakis @AndresVourakis What time is the last lift, 4:30PM ? Please reply me back some betas of the abseils. My e-mail address: Nenomattos@hotmali.com Thanks man
