  • While environmental factors can play a huge role, the number one cause of cancer is mutations from regular cell replication. Does this mean cancer in humans is simply inevitable?

Researchers Find Mutation 'Hotspots' That Are Linked to Cancer
    www.seeker.com...
"Researchers say they've identified clusters of genetic mutations in proteins that can give rise to cancer, a discovery that may help them zero in on new treatments. Those mutation 'hotspots' occur among families of proteins produced by genes in the body's cells. By sifting through data from nearly 6,000 cancer patients, researchers at the University of Maryland say they found thousands of mutations that occur among those proteins."
Bad luck plays larger role than environmental, genetic factors in determining who gets cancer
    hub.jhu.edu/201...
"Two-thirds of adult cancer incidence across tissues can be explained not by environmental factors or inherited genes but by bad luck, according to scientists from the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. The unlucky findings by Johns Hopkins scientists were discovered using a statistical model that measures the proportion of cancer incidence across many tissue types. They found that more often than not, cancer in adults is caused by random mutations that occur when stem cells divide."
DNA typos to blame for most cancer mutations
    www.nature.com/...
"Each time a cell divides, it provides an opportunity for errors to crop up during DNA replication. In 2015, Vogelstein and one of his co-authors, mathematician Cristian Tomasetti of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, created a stir with an analysis that looked at possible explanations for why some cancers occur more often than others. They concluded that differences in the number of stem-cell divisions in an organ correlated with the frequency of cancers in that area."

buzzfeed is a simple type of cance, but don't underestimate it is very aggressive and if not caught quick enough can affect the sanity of the people who have unfortunately caught it and once that happens they are forced by the cancerous cells in their brain to wright articles about why their are over a billion genders and to make random ass quizzes that make no sense, this is all done by the cancerous cells to further spread, so please for the sake of your children education them about this cancer so they can avoid catching it one day.

This is what I have been saying to my friends since my grandma died, she lived her whole life in village, never smoked nor consumed alcohol. She was a vegetarian her entire life. Lived completely on organic diet(there was no such thing as processed food ). She was a perfectly healthy person, until she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when she was 78 and died within 6 months of finding it.

failandia even if cancer form in the body due to random mutation ( which happens every day btw) the body is able to fight and kill the cancer cells. To which degree the body is able to shut down these early cancers is heavily influenced by nutrition and lifestyle. I recommend a book called " the China study" if you want to get more info on the topic.

I feel like this is an oversimplification of cancer because it's my understanding we all have cancer it's just a matter of whether or not we enable cancer to flourish. Some foods are anti angiogenesis which prevents cancers from establishing a fuel source. Also protein restriction like methionine restriction has been shown to reverse cancer or turn it off. What about epigenetics?

our entire molecular structure sheds away over our existence..and as the inner new cells they take the affects of everything you have been doing for your physical body..your metaphysical. The amount of stress and all the hormones youve had for the set amount of time in cell replication. There are many ways of keeping the body clean..that important to look at. Aloe Vera juice is very helpful and eat very spacious as in not large amounts rather small and very complexly mixed in the groupings of them. This is really the 1 true way to eat as far as any forgive the phrase.. diet is concerned. Avoiding meats more then having them is important..of course the quality of your water is one simple key factor for people to ensure they use that well..good clean water with ph around 7 or 9 is great for alkaline which is another key to eat more of..alkaline foods which is vast. eating is so much simpler then has been made to look for average people..for special diets of course special attention. enjoy eating and your health. stay away from soda pop..that stuffs horrible. any of it.

I used to really like this channel but now I'm wondering if you guys receive funding from the pharmaceutical industry. Since this is not the first video from your channel that has downplayed the power of lifestyle changes and made it sound like the chances of developing a specific condition is completely controlled by our genes and out of our control.
As a scientist that regularly reads through the peer review literature I can tell you, you're partly right. Lifestyle changes such as diets rich in antioxidants (not supplements) play a huge role in mitigating DNA damage in addition these foods inhibit angiogenesis, are low in IGF-1s (which most cancer cells have receptors for) and prevent the cancer from metastasizing.
Furthermore you forget to mention that lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise and effective stress management can up-regulate or down-regulate specific genes in our body that play a crucial role in cancer suppression. This is independent of the specific type of cancer.
Great to see you spreading more misleading news to make those that don't know any better feel helpless and at the mercy of western medicine... I hope Discovery is spending that Pharma money well.

we technically have a cure for cancer
and taht would be your immune system
yes, I know your immune system won't help if you have enough cancer to be diagnosed with it. but you make from 3-5 cancerous cells a day (note: all I'm saying is from memory, so there may be some errors in what I say in between lines). so if we could somehow overcharge our immune system, we may be able to cure some cancer.
although I cannot confirm that it'll work.
I can say, it's a thing we should look into (if we haven't yet)

    • @leeleeturn

Lonley Eagle I think they're working on getting the immune system to attack things like resistant cancer cells and Alzheimer's plaque forming cells. Some kinds of cancer cells can disguise themselves so the immune system will leave them alone. And since they're actual human cells they can evolve and no longer be susceptible to something that killed them before. Sneaky little bastards!

whats the difference between cancer and mutation?

    • @georgekromidas5097
      @georgekromidas5097 7 лет назад

rtswift Not all mutations result in cancer but all cancers result in mutation. Mutations in DNA can also be good or neutral.

hmm maybe all this cancer stuff is a sign that our human species is trying to evolve

is it possible that its a mutation to lower the human population?

  • @hiroshiganna9078

Cancer is a genetic mutation and these mutations are how evolution came about the is a stage where some cancers will survive pass on and mutate changing a humans physical form or appearance other cancers the most common ones are those that kill it is through failure that we became what we are today we just have a lot of other bad factors that we add.

A flame that burns twice as bright will burn half as long. This is the price of being alive. One day, your time will come. Not because you did anything, but as a consequence of you merely existing.
From the earth you came, from the earth you took, soon the earth will take back, and with it your return. Time to die, and complete the cycle.

Am I strange to not want to marry and pro create with women who have cancer in their family history? If I find out there is a history of cancer in the her family, then I wouldn't even want to pursue her any more. I have worked in the healthcare industry for 3 years now and work closely with cancer patients. I know it too well how cancer can turn a patient and its family upside down. I noticed that A LOT of the patients have had cancer in their family history... I'm fortunate that my family's medical histoty is free from cancer. I just want do my part to keep the risk low for my future offsprings.
