Man you had all the time in the world to plan that better…. We all make mistakes I did something pretty dumb last year too which was completely avoidable if I hadn’t left important descisions so late. Good on you for posting this is a video everyone needs to see. I did the same with my flight so others could learn from my brain fade. Glad you are ok. Chest deep in water with a Paraglider has been fatal for many…. Again thanks for posting👍
Great to meet you today on this very hill:) Thank you for posting video and for letting me know about it as it has pushed me to attach my paraglider line cutter tool to my harness (been collecting dust in my vehicle for months as keep forgetting to attach it). Hope to catch you next time I fly in Aber! The 'Swede':)
Nightmare sink, that. A number of people have drowned landing in the surf like that and getting dragged out. Lucky! The usual advice is to take the hard landing on the beach every time rather than risk the water. A downwind slide in on your arse on sand will probably be completely harmless.
Exactly a year ago to the day when you had a similar flight but didn’t land in the water. With such a tight turn to negotiate in order to land on the beach it may have been better to have flown out over the water and turned left with a bit more height to come into land. Flown there a few times and a water landing I’m always aware of but fortunately has never happened. Paragliding accidents if you live to fly another day always make us better pilots. Glad your OK. Look forward to flying up there again.
Hey, I'm a film making student at Aberystwyth University, is there a chance I could use your video in a short documentary for my course? It'd be much appreciated and id give credit if you wanted, thanks!
This is called the impossible turn in aviation, you're too low. About 4 weeks ago I had a motor out and was going downwind, I decided I was too low to turn around into the wind, so I ended up superman sliding on my belly for quite a distance, as I would going 35 mph (55 kph) when I touched down.
As a beginner i find this very useful! Thanks for sharing

Amazing footage.
Glad you avoided serious hurt.
Sorry to hear of your equipment damage, that can be replaced at least.
Thanks for posting.
Wow! Things happened quickly there!
Glad you got out of it ok 👍👍

Was the plan from the beginning to land as soon as possible?
Glad to see you're alright. ED
