I also love Amber🌹, but they were installed improperly. Gurl you got the grip/technique down, before you finished. My suggestion would be to spiral at a higher degree from the crown, and smooth (much as possible) each section at a time. Those rods types were originally invented for chemical perms. Don't underestimate them. Once you get the technique, and concept of curl patterns and sizes they can achieve, you will discover a smoother set than the normal twist out. Sincerely, Dee
What about compared to Curlformers? Spiral rods cheap but take a long time. Curlformers more expensive and quick to install. These spiral rods have been around for at least 20 years because I remember them from when I was younger.

I have very long, but thin and fine hair. I would adore to have curls like this, but I don't know if the rods would be long enough. On top of that, I have to wash my hair every 2-3 days anyway, so I don't know if it would even be worth the effort 😬

Musical Keys Curly bobs are possibly the cutest short style, alone with tiny Afros and curly pixie cuts. Definitely try it, maybe the weekend before a busy week so each day it’s easier to style (even if the curls get too frizzy, it’s already stretched for faster styling).

Cute. Yes, you should do your whole head. I just hope it lasts at least a week. The over a few days the curls will probably loosen up and drop which will give you another 'look' altogether. I think it'll be worth it. It really looks good. Thank you for sharing this process. Have a friend do your hair so it will not be so tedious.
Back in the day, I remembered using the big blue ones and it was so annoying to put iin my hair. Using regular straws would of worked faster than that. Your curls came out pretty!
I remember my mom used to use the blue or white ones from the beauty supply store with they still have them and she used to use them in my hair whenever I had a dance rehearsal or dance recital or for a special occasion and I still love putting them but the dang is sleeping with them was so annoying because sometimes some of them would come off but then I would get up and have my mom fix them back and I loved the results that they came on my am I lose hair I can sell before you even put them in that it will come out amazing🤗❤️

I swear I can listen to Amber's accent alll day long! & its a no for me sis, too time consuming l'm very low maintenance when it comes to styling my hair myself, now l don't mind somebody else doing it but l wouldn't dare do it myself.
I'm so glad this popped up in my suggestions, I saw ordered these a few days ago as a gift for my niece because they looked like they would be good for natural hair but I must admit I was worried that I would get it wrong. she and I have very different hair!! but I'm learning :) she has shorter hair and is a little kid so hopefully, they won't take crazy amounts of time to put in.
I would try them as I have 4a (bottom back) 4b/c over the rest of my head and it's no where near the length of yours. I would do it on my Sunday wash day so I can have nice curls through out the week. Which I just may have to do this when I go on my trip to Europe in September so I don't have to worry about doing my hair every day.

Ha, after I saw the first curl, I was like, mm mmm put that roller back in and finish the rest of them! Reminds me of the few times I suffered through doing straw twists back when my hair was shorter! They were cute, but there's a reason why there's a whole unused pack of smoothie straws in my cabinet 😂
I definitely won’t be trying these. Girl, the results look like a twist out lol. I can do that with no tools. Plus I do not have he patience to install these. I haven’t even done a flex rod set in ages because it take too long lol.

If you like this, you should really try Victorian rag curls. You can sleep in them, too, which makes them a lot more convenient. .
Hold the roller at the top then wind the hair round and it’s really quick as you don’t need to keep moving your other hand

You should try a straightening brush called Head Kandy it works on all hair types I love it
