Long time Cape Lookout fisherman, been going for years (and I’m sure you’ve learned more since) about the Ferry, is you gotta book those MONTHS in advance typically. The Cabins are opened by the NPS early January, and peak drum fishing season/fall/spring sells out in less than half an hour. The ferry service lines get tied up just as bad.
This video just saved our trip! We did not know about the permit so we just got that. Also, I will be calling to reserve a Ferry tomorrow. Our trip is in a week!
@@NemesisDigitalMedia We just got back Friday from our trip. Your video saved our trip completely btw. We lived out of our Gladiator for 4 days there. We may have actually passed you at some point!
Nice video thanks for sharing. My wife and I definitely planning on making this trip in the summer. Thanks again for the information it will definitely come in handy. By the we are also here in the Atlanta area but new to overlanding.
What feny is Best for trUck with off guid trailer? Whatis the estimated ferry cost? . What is the best time to go with a 3 year old who will want to get in the water. What is best length of stay? Sorry so many question I
Nice setup! Super jealous. I'm trying to head down in the gx470 and the park service said a vehicle ferry might not happen. The Davis area ferry service hasn't called back. 🙁 Def want to check it out.
The cape look beautiful ... but I’m not a fan of beach camping or beach days. For all the reasons you mentioned about the sand. I’d rather stick to the woods.
What’s the gauge on the left hand side. I can’t quite tell. I’m looking to monitor a few things via obd2 and don’t quite want the size of the Edge Insight/tablet running: torque pro.
Awesome guide. Really helps prepare for the trip. One thing I haven’t seen much from you is regarding COMMS. I see you have a Baofeng. Is that what you use on the trail? How do you use it? Thanks man!
Nice video! Were you guys able to build a fire on the beach? Our did you use a fire pit or something to contain the fire? My wife and I are heading out to Cape Lookout next month from Atlanta
yep! we had a fire , just dug a somewhat deep hole in the sand for it. worked out nicely! Maybe see yall out there we'll be out there the second week of June!
@@NemesisDigitalMedia we are going to just miss you guys we will be there the weekend of June 4th. Figured it wouldn't be as crowded since everybody will be there for Memorial day weekend
