Love how Pat Smear just constantly has the biggest smile on his face. Dude's loving every minute, and why wouldn't you? So happy to see the band ripping it up, still loving what they do despite going through such tragedy. Freese is an absolute machine, the perfect new drummer to take the reigns in an almost impossible situation, and I'm sure Taylor's marking out watching him and his buddies going so hard and fans going so wild. FF forever

you can really hear the difference in drumming styles Freese is very tight i lover Taylor but its about the fans the legacy and Dave Grohl got it right.
Was in near the front (Metal barrier before the actual front section) and it was epic, the music on spotify just doesn't do any of it justice, the live experience is somethinig else entirely, sounds so much better too.
I love that Josh is using that big double-bass kit. It's saying, "We're not minimal, we're not 'authentic', we're not interested in punk credibility. We're an effin' hard rock stadium band, one of the best out there. Deal with it." It's also saying, "I'm not Taylor; and I'm not Dave. I'm Josh."
Being in the middle of that crowd was absolutely euphoric. Everybody was dancing and singing start to finish - I’ve already watched this back 3 times just to experience it again. My god Foo Fighters are special. Glastonbury is just a magical place.
For almost two decades now Freese has been one of the most accomplished rock drummers alive. NIN, A Perfect Circle, Devo, even Sting! He's probably played more gigs than the rest of the Foos combined. Hawkins was unique and his loss was tragic, but being a Freese fan since hearing A Perfect Circle years ago, I gotta say I'm thrilled for the guy!

Congrats to Josh. Went to the same high school and I remember when he was drumming for Michael Damien 1989 they had newspaper clippings in the school admin office. Little did they know how far he would go.
I loved Taylor for his unique charisma and incredible talent. But Josh injects next level 'Prize Fighter" athlete focus, masterful technique, and super-concentrated explosive energy into his performances. A solid anchor.

The new guy plays a lot of good stuff but then again he is only replicating Taylor's parts when he is playing great. When he starts doing his own take on things you can hear its not a patch on Taylor. Maybe give it time.

While we will always love Taylor it really feels like Josh Freese has brought an amazing amount of new energy to the Foo's. I saw them live a month ago at Sonic Temple Festival in Ohio and they killed it. So fun to see them playing a surprise set to this MASSIVE crowd. LOL and people say rock music is dead. Look at that crowd!
He had this in the bag from the start and there was zero doubt about it - and that’s exactly why he was hired. Dude is immensely talented and could play the entire Foo catalogue in his sleep.

I felt from day one if the Foos continued, it would be with Josh behind the kit. Him and Taylor were very tight. And Josh is bringing the early punk energy back to this band. I miss Taylor like crazy but Josh was the perfect guy to step in.

That's not really hard having that embarrassing thing called coachella as one of the US top festivals. Anywhere in Europe, Aussies and South Americans (Chile and Argentina are well known for their crazy crowds) have better energy and feedback with the bands when live.
Dave is an unique master of music. Josh is a great choice for the band. My tears going to Taylor. But I love Josh and his energy is unbreakable. A legendary drummer. Right. 🙏👌💓🔥💓🔥☝️
I loev this. Its the first big gig ive seen of them since the tribute gigs and they definately seem to have a renewed energy. Josh is a beast on the drums. He hits so hard. I think that when a new member joins a band it always brings something a bit different and new. Im sure Taylor has a massive grin and joining in too. Also is just so nice to see them all enjoying themselves again. I love these guys
i was there, front row center with my 'Here for the Churnups t-shirt', knowing damn well it was the Foos all along, but I swear to God that when I saw Rami at the back and then Dave came running on stage, the logo changing to FF, I completely lost it.
Daves voice is completely shot by the end. Nice to see a 100% balls out performance with musicians completely disregarding their ability to continue the set if they blow something!
Honestly, it was shot at the beginning, he was off pitch. But my God, Dave’s energy and dedication and the way he pulls in the audience at his age it’s just phenomenal. I love that man so much. He does such a great job!

Holy Shit! Josh Freese is the bomb. He adds so much to that band that it absolutely blows my mind. Adding the double kick at the end of all my life, Everlong, and no son of mine. Some of these songs are so heavy they require double kick and I think it's certainly notable that Dave is just letting him do his thing back there. Josh Freese is definitely right up there with Danny Carey as far as today's best.
I can't say I'm a fan of the foo fighters but you have to tip your hat to them, delivering a performance like that and there connection to there fan base its amazing 🔥🔥
The Foo Fighters are one of the few stadium-level bands I can think of that really treats its fanbase well. Bought tickets for their UK tour yesterday and paid the exact same as I did five years ago, which is absolutely unheard of.
I was at Lollapalooza Chicago in 2021 and got to see Taylor with Foo. Jist got to see Josh with Foo last month in Boston. Josh is amazing and is an incredible replacement, but the energy FF had when Taylor was playing was just next level.
Josh is to Taylor what Matt Cameron is to Dave Abruzzesse in Pearl Jam. The firsts bring to the band that discipline and order that its solely linked to jazzy kinda drummers (read John Densmore or even Ginger Baker) that's so powerful and confident. On the other hand Taylor and Dave gave their bands just the spirit of freedom and anarchy that's basically the essence of rock n roll. Both great styles, couldn't say I prefer either? It's like choosing between Don Draper and Saul Goodman as who's got more presence on camera

Impresionante cómo renacieron los Fufos, cómo le suma Freese a la agrupación. Que quede claro que SIEMPRE, ¡SIEMPRE! extrañaremos a Taylor, pero el trabajo de Josh es excelente, no pudieron escoger a alguien mejor para ocupar la batería.

Holy Shit! Josh Freese is the bomb. He adds so much to that band that it absolutely blows my mind. Adding the double kick at the end of all my life, Everlong, and no son of mine. Some of these songs are so heavy they require double kick and I think it's certainly notable that Dave is just letting him do his thing back there. Josh Freese is definitely right up there with Danny Carey as far as today's best.
I can't say I'm a fan of the foo fighters but you have to tip your hat to them, delivering a performance like that and there connection to there fan base its amazing 🔥🔥
Same, or I'm a little fan as I don't know many of their songs. But I'd go see them in concert because it would be epic!
The Foo Fighters are one of the few stadium-level bands I can think of that really treats its fanbase well. Bought tickets for their UK tour yesterday and paid the exact same as I did five years ago, which is absolutely unheard of.

You have to know and appreciate your role. You prefer playing simple keys for the fuckin Foo Fighters or shredding keys alone in your bedroom

I was at Lollapalooza Chicago in 2021 and got to see Taylor with Foo. Jist got to see Josh with Foo last month in Boston. Josh is amazing and is an incredible replacement, but the energy FF had when Taylor was playing was just next level.

Josh is to Taylor what Matt Cameron is to Dave Abruzzesse in Pearl Jam. The firsts bring to the band that discipline and order that its solely linked to jazzy kinda drummers (read John Densmore or even Ginger Baker) that's so powerful and confident. On the other hand Taylor and Dave gave their bands just the spirit of freedom and anarchy that's basically the essence of rock n roll. Both great styles, couldn't say I prefer either? It's like choosing between Don Draper and Saul Goodman as who's got more presence on camera
There is absolutely nothing like a Foo’s show. People were still singing Best Of You 2 hours after the concert had finished, can’t wait to see them again next month,

Watched this on BBC last night! Really exciting gig, yep, that drummer sure pounded the hell outta that kit! I miss Taylor Hawkins so much, but glad theyve got someone really great ! I loved Pats little nod to the Sex Pistols when they all got introduced LOL

There’s no doubt about that. But, with that being said, I’m so glad that the Foos are still performing. And for that I’m grateful for Freeze.
Never been a huge fan but Dave has been very successful with this band, something that just started out with one man.
