  • Blue power flashes were seen as a severe thunderstorm hit northern Dallas on April 23.
    Parts of northern and central Texas were under a severe thunderstorm watch, with the National Weather Service warning of damaging winds, large hail and possible tornadoes in the area.
    This video, posted by David Kimball, shows three blue flashes while powerful winds hit Dallas’ north.

    Those are called, say it with me class, A R C . Arc. The electricity is arcing.

    • @josephrichardson4678
      @josephrichardson4678 3 года назад

      So an arc is when the current can reach another metal/ something like that? Not really sure. Actually asking a question. Then the clouds above with a current are causing an arc onto a transformer or something metal? Well the arc is in between. I think this is how welding is done.

    • @josephrichardson4678
      @josephrichardson4678 3 года назад

      Now I'm just thinking a transformer blew. And somehow an arc is just happening there? The whole cloud theory went out the window.

    Is Texas ready to regulate their powergrid yet after the snowstorms and rain?

    • @KaleidoscopeMagic
      @KaleidoscopeMagic 3 года назад +1

      The Texas Grid is is already regulated by ERCOT. What ERCOT needs to do is "winterize" the infrastructure.

    Typically that is a transformer fuse blowing.

    • @gasser5001
      @gasser5001 3 года назад +2

      Typically this is electricity arcing. Has nothing to do with a transformer blowing. I didn’t hear the boom...
