they need to explain this better. Are the girls putting the boots on? If so, why are they called superheroes?
if removing the boot is criminal damage, then putting the boots on someone's car should also be criminals damage.

Love this, it’s easy to up our Police Department’s Prosecution Quota here. I’m not in Atlanta so this doesn’t concern me, but a year and a half ago when the prosecution quota went up, we started using “Bait Cars” with boots on them, calling these “Boot Girl” type companies, then as soon as they arrived to take the boot off, we have two of our uniformed officers arrest them.
Though the boots are put on here by THE CITY, not some random private company. So when they remove them, it’s a felony offense. Most don’t actually see jail time unless they’re repeat offenders, but I’ve easily met my quota on several occasions running quick bait car operations.
By all means, keep it up, you’re just making my life easier 😂😂😂

Booting is out of control in Atlanta, to the point where it is really a scam. I dont see this much in other cities, especially cities where only the police can order a boot supplied.
We were in Atlanta about a year ago to see a specialist for my daughter and we parked in a lot, and paid for a full day. I came out a couple hours later and the car was booted as I had failed to put the parking pass where they could see the time stamp easily. I called, and was told that it was my fault and would have to pay for the unbooting. I did so when they came and removed it. I put the payment ticket where it could be better seen and even asked the guy that removed the boot if that was a good spot and was told yes.
Later that day, around 3 we left and I found it booted again and when i called again was told that a "full day" ended at 2. This seemed like retaliation for calling the first time but not sure. This time I called the police and a officer came by, agreed that the whole thing was wrong as a full day should usually be at least 8hours and no signs were posted that said 2 pm. He told us sadly that the police have no control in private lots and these days it was almost better to illegally park on the street. He did, however, slip me a card along with a card with a case number which had a phone number and a message that they could remove the boot for a great deal less than i had been charged earlier. Very nice couple arrived promptly and removed the boot.
In college towns, you find booting companies lurking on and near campuses. Some of them employ spotters!
I live in Chicago and it's out of control here too
@@bigredd690I was just going to say Chicago has been on this bullshit for YEARS!!!
That's crazy! In DC you have to have a lot of tickets, not just be parked somewhere you shouldn't. Smh
a day is 24 hours, if they said a "work day" ok, but a full work day is between 9 am to 5 pm which is 8 hours their "full day" ended at 2 pm something wrong with that.
These companies need to be crushed.
I live in Atlanta and I know firsthand there is out-of-control booting and towing. My apartment complex (Marchon) had my car wrongfully towed. Luckily we found our car. It was parked 4 miles away at a strip club. When I reached out to Atlanta police for help, they said it was between me and Marchon! Useless.
I hired an attorney. 😏
That’s why I got the hell out of the city of Atl. It’s too much traffic as well.
It’s absolutely predatory. I wish the bootgirls were around when I was working for Postmates. I had not a single place to park by a restaurant to pick up a customers food. There was a sign that said private parking from 9pm- 7am. It was 7:30pm. I parked there, WITH MY CAR RUNNING, but locked. I was in the restaurant for not more than 2 minutes because the food was already made. I came back and that fast my car was booted and I’m stuck there with a customers food that I’m sure they never received. I had to pay 125 dollars to get the boot off. It set me back so far that year, I was almost homeless. I hate these companies.
Yeah, when I was still working in DC 20 years ago. I parked my car on the street and it was Sunday, just 2 minutes, and I got a ticket for $100. I told the cop, Sir, it is Sunday, can I have a break? He said, Do you think the government doesn’t work weekends? I told him I thought DMV was closed on Sunday, but he still gave me a ticket anyway.
Well, why did you park in a marked zone then?
@@blacksheepdog6969 "There was a sign that said private parking from 9pm- 7am. It was 7:30pm." it was outside the hours apparently.

This is an example of when people take action, where the government, PAID BY THE PEOPLE, fails to protect people. An absurd that the citizens need to resort to this in order to get rid of such predatory activity!
This isn't the government booting. They cannot remove those boots legally. They are removing boots placed by private parking enforcement companies on private lots. It is not illegal to remove those boots (but it is illegal to damage/destroy them). Atlanta has a MASSIVE problem with predatory parking enforcement booting legally parked cars to boost revenue.

if one company boots 100,000 cars at $75 per removal, that's $7,500,000, if there are 15 companies doing this it's a $112 million dollars a year industry. The private property claim is moot if you are not allowed to remove yourself from the premises.
It feels like extortion. In my city, a towing company was towing cars parked legally in a retirement community. Elderly people couldn't make their doctor's appointments.
500 for semi truck without the trailer. That probably double that figure.
@lucyross5478 Typically a private parking lot, in this case the parking lot owned by the retirement community, has a partnership with a towing company in order to reduce illegal parking. Why would the retirement community continue to use this towing service if what you say is true?
@@lucyross5478 They suck. $ sucks unless we're rich. Many of those cars (i visited mum in a facility) are visitors to their elders providing essential continuity of family to otherwise isolated parents. Parking shouldn't be a source of revenue like that. It's reasonable care of/for the elderly.
Pretty sure he said 1000 cars. And the card said $50.
I worked in the parking industry for over for over a decade. Making someone’s car stuck on your property just boggles my mind. Usually you just want people pay and leave and not cause you problems. Boot girls are doing a great service, but I hope they stay safe. Some people take their job too seriously.
I didn't understand that when I was in Boston and there were warning signs that one's car will be booted if one parks where one is not supposed to. We had a company dinner at Maggiano’s in Buckhead. We all parked in the restaurant parking lot. When we left the restaurant, my car was the only one being booted out of all my co-workers who happened to look different from me. The guy booting the car told me the restaurant had called as soon as they saw me parking. He took the boot off when I showed my receipt. I have never returned.
Happened to me in one of our work trucks. Stopped at walmart to buy lunch and came out to a booted truck. Cost me $300 to remove the boot. I called the cops, and they would not even come out. This was a company called Maximum Boot Co. All of them thieves, scam artists, and criminals.

The attorney makes a good point. If these property owners don’t want these cars to park illegally and teach them a lesson, then have the car towed. By having cars be booted, the space where car is booted is still being occupied which prevents a parking space for being available to another car. It seems like boots is just another way for property owners to make quick cash and save their own money and time without using a towing company.
100% this. I'm willing to bet that the property owners and the boot companies are splitting the profits from these fines and wouldn't surprise me if some property owners also own some of these boot companies.

We got booted in Atlanta a few years ago. The guy who came for the boot was obnoxious with an attitude and he really irritated me and I was just being casual about it. Who would want to deal with this?
Yep. The same phenomenon is endemic in poor countries. “I’m a civil servant. Respect and bribe me.” That guy’s day wouldn’t be complete without provoking you. Where is this company located? I think a nail jacking campaign is a start.
Yeah, booting your car, charging you $80, and making you wait for them to come 'free you' is NOT enough - gotta give you some condescending attitude on top of it... He started to point to a sign or 2 we didn't see - as if we were blind but... we were just trying to enjoy ourselves as a family for a few hours on the weekend between working and I think the signs are not too easy to see or we would have seen them from the start. They don't want you to see the signs, probably. Anyhow, barely have gone to Atlanta for years now - who wants that headache, LOL! Just take our license plate number like the school cameras do and mail us a freaking bill - much easier and it still gets paid. That way, we enjoy the day and don't realize an $80 bill is coming in the mail but we just pay it when it arrives without some obnoxious young guy trying to provoke us - and he was trying to provoke us... I really would like for them to hire male muscle tho because it is great money‼️ plus when people see that men are backing the ladies they won't try to hurt the women or perform weird activities when they are alone

I was is in grad school and new to Atlanta. I parked my car next to thw library at university at CAU. I came out and my car had a boot on it; 24 years ago. SMH.
These Girls are awesome!!!
dude saying "and your hiding behind a mask" had me laughing my ass off.
Lol,😂 IKR
That exactly what most super heros do.
They wear a mask like Batman,Robin, Spider Man and Black Panther, to hide their identity.
Subtext: @
“yiure not following the rules like me”
And for an additional $100,
I got me some real booty while the other gal was taking the restrainers off.
These tow companies are organized crime for real though, yes they should hide their identities! Spider-man hides his for the same reason.
Hey, you go ladies I support you, after being booted so many times when I lived in the ATL - I'd rather pay $50 than close to $400. Yes, it has become predatory in Atlanta.
I wish I could be friends with these two girls. Good people! May God bless you both and keep you safe.
DELUSIONAL
About time we got so credit for being good guys❤
Booting does lead to people getting hurt, scammed and robbed! They bully people into paying to get the boot off.
That boot company owner is lying they will boot you even if you paid are parked correctly! It is so bad that in the 13 years I have lived here, I don't even go to Atlanta!
Thank you to the boot girls❤️❤️❤️ thank god the government is actually doing something about this. I was booted so many times after i paid. Then the people that boot my car told me the barcode that they make avaliable for me to pay online isnt working so i have to use the machine so i lost $30 and $80 to take the boot off.
Another time there was one parking lot split and controlled by two different companies by "26 on thai"in midtown. I didnt know it was two companies. They had no sign when this happened. After i paid $20 for parking. I came out and my car was booted i called mad because i paid. The guy came to remove the boot with a gun in his hand trying to intimidate me. I had to pay $90 to get it removed because i didnt pay for the side of the lot i was parking on. And i lost $110 as a result. Thats why i dont go midtown as often and when i do i'm paronoid.
Man this is dope major props to these ladies
Absolute legends! I salute both of you, ladies!
I doubt very much that a boot company operator sold them a key. That would put them out of work. It was more likely stolen. Or beat up and stolen. Heroes or Villain's ?
@@speakthetruth110 Go whine to someone who cares.
The problem is the girls are making money on it too, if they did it for free they would be heroes. Booting should be outlawed.
@@banditdog1338They have to be compensated for their time, gas, and risk of going to jail.

Imagine you’re in an emergency.. & you can’t move your car.. 😮💨
That sucks but you should pay your fines on time
@@convulsiivewhat fines? These aren't police boots.
@@TB-jj7ri My bad. Dont park where you're not supposed to... Either way you're doing something bad idk why you guys are acting stupid.
Imagine not parking in a no parking zone . . . .. .
@convulsiive Peoples cars are getting booted for other reasons as well. If they really cared about people breaking the law, why not call the police and have them ticketed? Why hire private companies to lock someone's car in place, where they aren't supposedly supposed to park anyway, for money? The business is working with the boot company to have people's cars booted. You don't see the incentive to have people's cars booted unnecessarily here?
Awesome !
These girls are heros ❤
Thanks, ABC News, for letting us know that in Atlanta you can make a booty call.
😂😂😂 good one! 👍
Oh WoW 😂😂
Only a dog would think of that, good one😂😂😂😂😂

This is excellent 💯🔥
One of the few things to come outa atlanta that makes me not feel its fallin apart
If someone lied to get these women arrested someone should get charged with filing a false police report.
Said No More 👀☕️
It was the police that lied in the police report
These women are heroes 👏

Heroes don’t charge you 50 dollars to help you.
No they aren't because a real superhero doesn't charge you for any money and they do
@@gregkareem9824 Yes you are right. I have an idea for a new movie. A superhero that charges a fee. If you don't agree to pay he lets what ever happen to you. Of course it would be a comedy.
Damn they give me hope ❤❤❤ you go girls!!!
New meaning to "Knocking Boots" 😂😂
I grew up in Atlanta, and at one point I had to go to the dermatologist to get something frozen off (I was like 4 and don't remember what specifically I had). We leave the doctors office, im in pain and we have a boot on our car. These people absolutely sit and wait for people to park and boot cars for the hell of it. They then took an hour arguing with my parents before removing the boot. All while a sobbing 4 year old wrapped in cellophane (i dont remember why I was wrapped in cellophane) kept begging him to let us go home.
Maybe you had a problem with squirming so they just decided to wrap you up like a present. Maybe it's all a lie and you were involved in a secret government experiment kind of like the Tuskegee experiment. A lot of those used to happen in Atlanta years ago.
Not only are a lot of them predatory, a lot of them are straight up criminals stealing from people and some businesses owners get a kickback. Towing/booting are shady businesses. A few years ago I lived in the city with my roommate. They had gone to a store to pick up an order, but the main entrance was broken, so you had to enter through the small business next door. When my roommate got out, their car had been towed. Turned out the owner of the business had a deal with a local towing company and was towing anyone who parked in the parking for their business only and did not enter their business…but their door was non functional *and the business had signs up* directing you to go through the adjacent shop to enter theirs. They were able to make a lot of money and pay for that door😂 There needs to be bans were available and tight regulations everywhere else
This is amazing, I didn’t know they were trying to ban booting behind them. Good job ladies.
Sour out t I’m like we need y’all here in Philly asap
Blessings to the Boot Girls!
I think the "Boot Girls" are Super Heroes. I applaud them for their work. They are doing a service for the people in Atlanta.

They part of the same scam. $75 but for you we will do $50 and play good cop instead of those mean boot men
I love this. They saw a problem and created a solution. Just awesome!
No, they saw a fanatical opportunity. Lol
Brilliant sisters
@@nayjavuwhy not both? There’s a lot of for-profit charities helping people that also pay a CEO.
more like, they saw a booting company making money, and then they made it their business undercutting the prices of the original booting companies.
Those booting the car are the criminals. Not those beautiful girls. Keep working girls.
This is amazing 👑💐💐💐
Where can I buy the key?
Go, girls! They don’t need to worry about being prosecuted, now that they’re getting national attention and support. 👏

I think they need better costumes. Marvel is in Atlanta. Take a stroll over to their lot and see if someone will hook them up
I wish y'all would boot my car and scratch my rims; I'm going to own your company
I was booted in Decatur, Georgia taking my elderly fsther out to dinner. Not from that area. Parking lot was empty lot across from pharmacy. Went to restaurant in area...crazy. Ruined my evening.
