I love so much that this isn't just a copy and paste of the original game into better graphics. You all are genuinely remaking it and I am deeply happy to see it happen.
Remake, remaster would be what you mentioned first.
remake*
bethesda didn't allow them to do a direct 1 to 1 copy anyway, for legal reasons they had to make everything from scratch, i know some people wanted them to use the in game voices and all, but i feel it will be much better listening to other people either doing their own impressions of the voiced character's or just another version of the same character's.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4w Plus it will allow more voices to be used too! So less samey samey.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4wI think they’re more referring to the fact that they actually changed a lot of the designs and environments. The new Ayleid ruins are a big example of this. They all looked the same in Oblivion.
The only oblivion remaster I am going to play.
its the only one that actually exists😭
It's a remake :)
Same. It looks really amazing being made by a mod team. Just look at Black Mesa another game made by a mod team and is the best Remaster of Half-Life 1.
I dunno about you, but im going to play the one that EXISTS. you do you tho.
@@siggespaman3491 as far as I remember, Bethesda announced they gonna do one too
It's impossible for me to describe how this makes me feel. Oblivion WAS my childhood. Yeah, I played morrowind, but Oblivion was my game. Got me through some tough times. Please keep up the great work.
if only this didn't look like ass lmao :(( the teaser at the beginning did not look good, especially the snowy buildings and sword clipping thru shield. I think modded oblivion is always going to be a better option. edit: after watching the whole trailer this is just an embarassment. this will never be finished, and is chock full of garbage that no one asked for. todd would have fired half of these people for good reason
It looks better than skyrim. What drugs are you taking? @@dixienormus8
@dixienormus8 wait.. is this tod? Jealousy is unbecoming man. You'll make a good game again someday.
@@dixienormus8it hurts to see people this depressed. Go some help please man there’s no reason to be this hateful. A lot of passion is going into this project and I’m sure it will be an amazing return to the game we all love. It’s also not finished and they’re showing us their progress
@dixienormus8 I really don't agree with you, this isn't a bunch of BGS employees, their resources aren't going to be as good as if they were working at BGS.
It's quite rude to dunk on a group of people who have spent years to do this.. for FREE.
If you think you'd do any better, go apply and volunteer man. Todd would never hire you anyways, let alone fire you. Let the people who know what they're doing do the work, if you don't like how textures from a 12 year old game look then go play another game.
Bethesda needs to give this team serious props for doing what they won't do. Amazing work, can't wait till it drops.
I a completely understand betheda is just not like they used to be 😊
Bethesda should put this team on their payroll and give skyblivion a proper release
after bethesda making starfield they lose themselfs. like poop in pants in audition. after that they say that was a masterplan.
Bethesda is going to drop an oblivion remake
@@GLsJAwtomatica Not just this team. But they should hire the teams behind Skywind, Fallout 4 New Vegas and Fallout 4 Capital Wasteland as well, forming a "Bethesda Classic" studio. Tasked with these remakes at first and later making new DLCs for Skyrim, Fallout 4 and these remakes.
Skyblivion coming out in 2025 is the silver lining of me turning 30 next year. Genuinely can't wait to get lost in this game all over again.
It’ll get delayed yet again or even go the way of other recent canceled mod projects lol.
I’m sorry to hear about your back
@@CrackingCody love the optimism brother
@@CrackingCody It was never delayed in the first place.
Yup I was 34 back in the good old days when the original Oblivion came out. And right away, it seemed, we started the UNIQUE LANDSCAPES.
Enderal creator here. Amazing to see you're getting close to release! All of this project is impressive, but I'm particularly fascinated by how you managed to get those new menus working. You've got some serious talent on board, that's for sure!
Game recognise game ! Love u SureAi
Thanks a lot guys, also with your help! We still use some trees you gave us permission for from your mod
Omg SureAI here in the Comments.... Enderal is a Masterpiece, played it surely 4 Times! ❤ If you read this... Play Enderal until Skyblivion get released! But get ready to get Heartbroken 😢✌
Haha yes! Skyblivion's developers are real professionals!
Just want to say that Enderal is probably one of the best games I have ever played. The story, I will remember a lifetime.
The fact you pulled off not just the UI, but also lockpicking is nothing short of astonishing. This has never been done. I am very impressed.
The Lockpicking is Insane. How did they do it?
the character animations look like outright ass? what happens to my mans arms when he is cutting at the beginning of the trailer... seems like they spent weeks/months working on the character creation UI which worked fine in oblivion and is something that a normal player spends less than 0.1% of the playthru on.... why did we need a new lockpicking UI?????
@@dixienormus8 it's a whole new mini game, which we needed because it's been like 15 years since Bethesda introduced the one in Skyrim and FO3. We've had enough of it. As for animations, most of them I imagine will come from vanilla Skyrim, which is why they look the way they do. This, as opposed to lockpicking, you can mod right this second thanks to Verolevi and some other mod authors. Also, this is an oblivion remake, it's only fair they add Oblivion's systems to it, not keep Skyrim ones.
They are AAA devs afterall. They have the skills to do this and on time. Indie devs such as myself could not pull this off without some serious resources.
@@Erynash 😴😴😴😴😴
This is so breathtaking that a few volunteers can come together and make something that looks like this but a company that’s original focus was the elder scrolls and fallout hasn’t touched their offline franchise in what almost feels like a decade
It's probably not a very important thing for many players, but thank you for bringing back colors to the UI! It feels so cosy now, just like the original.
Apologies for releasing the video late friends, we ran into alot of issues yesterday as we tried to get the video done and by midnight chose to delay it instead.

loved it thank you for bring(ing) back rest to level up, in the next dev dairy would love to see spells and spell crafting, weapon and armor repair. as well as alchemy. great vid
Been following y'all's progress for years. Might be my first comment on any of your content though. Just wanted to say that your work is so exciting, and there's bound to be thousands of us sitting back in the shadows quietly but anxiously awaiting the release. New dev diaries might just be my favorite thing to have pop up on my RUclips feed.
So many fun things in this video, but I'll pick one and say that the Ayleid ruins that change based on the climate is such a nice touch by the team. I love that attention to detail!
This mod could be sold for $200 and I'd still buy it! The sheer amount of passion, attention to detail, and creativity put into this mod is nothing short of astounding and awe-inspiring. I'm so so happy this is coming to fruition within the next year!! Thank you to the whole team of Skyblivion for your dedication and love for this project!
Just... Wow. The hard work you guys put into every aspect of your development, from the mod itself, to videos like these, is breathtaking. From one mod team to another - massive, massive round of applause. Can't wait to get our hands on this in 2025! You guys got this! 🔥
I cant wait for both of your releases 👌
You too Skywind! Both of these mods are going to be incredible in the history of Elder Scrolls modding.
You guys are also doing a TREMENDOUS job that I can't wait to see more news! Thank you both teams for making these dreams a reality.
I'm more excited for Skyblivion than Skywind, but that's only because I've never played Morrowind. Still, it's going to be nice to be able to play both in a more modern engine!
We need you guys to merge teams and start working on the project we all TRULY want, Skybliviwind. Where the plots of Oblivion and Morrowind are swapped and violently mashed into each other's countries. It will be horrible, but it must be done.
The UI is insanely good, like im baffled by how good it looks.
This hits me with a sense of disbelief so powerful, I have no prior experience to compare it to. I don't understand how you folks have maintained the motivation to work long enough and hard enough to yield this many - this unfathomable number - of jaw-dropping results. Any individual creature model, any single town, any one loading screen like the ones you pictured or any one section of the UI would be enough to amaze me individually. But this... I'm just stunned by the scope of your efforts.
That interface alone is a huge improvement! Great work!
I remember that years ago, you didn't believe that bringing back stats would be possible. This project has come so far, I'm so glad to see every bit of progress.
If the right people join the project anything can happen :D
Genuinely you guys should keep the band together when this project is over and form a new studio, since Bethesda is not the same we are hungry for more games like Skyrim and you should take that place.
That is an amazing idea, just imagine a game from passionate devs
Seems like some big mod developers including their teams do start their own studios, Crowbar Collective for Black Mesa and Facepunch Studios for Garry's Mod being two examples. There was also the Forgotten City mod for Skyrim that was turned into its own standalone game after the modder behind it created his own studio.
People should help make the Wayward Realms a reality.
this team should do fallout new orleans , or they should do some sort of Dungeons and dragons style game , their team is passionate and understands rpg's like no other , the hardest challenge is picking a fantasy universe ripe and flavorful enough to deserve this teams work 😂
To be fair, it shouldn’t be understated the large hurdle between taking the foundations of an existing game, recreating, then expanding on it and trying to make an RPG from scratch with its own engine, mechanics built from the ground up, story & world built from the ground up, etc. I hope that isn’t taken as me knocking the Skyblivion team, it’s just never as straightforward as you might hope & were they to take the crew and move forward, it might take a while before something akin to Skyblivion being built from the ground up would even be on the table.
I’m fiending for this game bro. I’ve got that oblivion itch again! Easily gonna log 100+ hours in this when it’s ready!
The way you guys have gone above and beyond remaking this beloved game, all the thought and care put into each area. It’s nothing short of inspiring. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Love the detail of the argonian sitting down without his tail clipping through the floor
Do you plan on making videos for olenveld?

I have long not paid for mods and enjoyed their free nature. With the release of both Skyblivion and Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodil, I will be donating a full priced game's cash each because the hard work put forth deserves it. I am beyond excited to see my favorite Elder Scrolls game again and to get to further enjoy a full country in Skyrim. Good luck, and I hope release goes smoothly!

what does a hobbyst hacker do?
@@LiamTheOneright 🤔
@@LiamTheOne Similar to an ethical hacker I guess, they go around trying to hack into things they find exploitable online.. then they report it to the owner. Some companies offer rewards for that kind of thing so it can be profitable and everyone benefits.

@@timmarsden86 please check this game for malware, I never trust mods
I would love to see how the final fight looks with the men you've amassed with Martin Septim to charge the great gate. it was only a small handfull of guards in the original game
The developers we deserve. This should be an example for other companies, the way you should make your games, make remasters, the way you should treat details and share the values of how players see the world.
I think they nailed it by sticking to a consistent art style. Some people like old graphics, while others prefer high definition textures, whichever you enjoy the most I think it's vital for a game to "pop" to keep the art consistent among environments, characters, creatures or even the new UI are clear examples of this done right. Whoever is in charge of the art direction or part of the team take a sip of your next coffee with pride.
Ultimately there will be many mods to supplement this one after it releases, so hopefully if there are any sticking points for people, they can choose a mod that fits their tastes.
I'm hoping this mod will not conflict with any body/face mods, because I don't care for the rougher looking NPCs of Skyrim or their rigid stance. They don't quite fit Oblivion and its gentler design. There do appear to be changes, from what I can tell from that brief look at the character creator, and a lot of the NPCs do look better and more fitting than what I've seen in other videos, but I'm sure once it lands there will be mods eventually if not.
The art direction is actually super refreshing, like old warm fantasy, you rarely see it these days.
Modders can also always upgrade the textures they're using for Skyblivion
Can't wait to play Skyblivion as it was the reason for me purchasing Oblivion and this would be the first thing in my to do list for 2025. 'For the Empire!'
following this project for years now and even though I was always excited to finally play it, it wasn't until you guys announced that you were bringing back the attributes that I reallllyy got excited, and now seeing the new UI accompanied with the attributes, class and skill system, ugh, you guys are real life wizards.
A lot of big goofy Oblivion energy in this video and I adore it. 2025 is going to be something truly special. 💙

Wow, when I saw what you did with Ayleid Ruins I got shivers down my spine. Everything about this remake is increadibly impressive!
Here I am, having for the first time ever sat down to finally try playing Oblivion. For the last two hours I have been downloading and configuring mods, and just as I am waiting for the last few to finish downloading, I come accross your project and see what you are in the process of achieving. I am not so sure I want to try out my modded monstrosity anymore, if your masterpiece will be available as early as next year! This looks phenominal!
One thing I'd LOVE to see would be a concept art to gameplay highlight.
Basically taking pieces of concept art, and showing sort of a before and after of "where it started" and "where it ended up".
Oh that would be so cool. I love looking at progress pics like that

This is something incredible! Oblivion is the game of my childhood, thanks to it I got acquainted with the TES series and what I see in your work simply fascinates me! You are an incredible team!
I have to say, one of the most exciting aspects of this is the editable perk system. Not just because I care about other modders being able to add perks specifically, but it shows that with every change the Skyblivion team makes they are keeping this as open as they can for other modders to tweak and tinker. They are actively developing in a way that makes it easy for others to develop for. That hypes me more than the rest of this (very impressive) dev diary combined.
That attribute point allocation screen is 10/10. That helps solve a massive issue with Oblivion's leveling.
I am smiling like an idiot watching the UI and character leveling section. I love this interpretation of the Oblivion systems.
