Lost my Dad to cancer 2 years ago. My mom a month ago to cancer. Back to back found out she had it right after my Dad passed. God gave me the gift of being able to be BOTH of their caregivers full time. That last verse gets me everytime.

This is one of the most emotional songs that really pull at my ❤️ . This song came out as my dad was passing away in the hospital. After they brought him out of a coma they said if he woke up he'd have brain damage due to the timing after they found him when he had a heart attack. He never woke up and even after being taken off the vent, he was alive for 3 more weeks. They say that when you're in that state your body jerks and it's not them that gripping your hand or turning their head. But I felt him there as we all did. This was the most heart-wrenching time in my life waiting for my dad to pass. This song was played at his funeral. & Of course we all cried like babies. Even now when I'm missing him I still turn it on and crank it up no matter how many years flow. I no that he is still here with us. Thank you Luke Combs for this Gem. He lived to be 90. Got to meet all 9 of his grandchildren & see his 2nd grandchild get married. Miss him tons and this song makes me miss him more. Enjoy all the time you have with him.
