After my wife and I lost our first son we went through the hardest time of my life. This song comforts my soul. We now have 3 beautiful children and I cant be more thankful to my son. He is the reason they are here. God bless the underdogs like me.

I got clean before I got pregnant with my daughter because I knew caring for a child would force me to get my shit together. It worked. I slowly started to love myself again and realized I deserved more. I’ll be clean 8 years this December. Last year I met the love of my life and we will be married next August. This song describes my life perfectly. This song....I just have no words. It’s the first one to ever make me cry happy tears❤️

I'm in a similar situation and I am a man as well, people always think that I am a female when I tell my story, so from now on I am putting the fact that I am a man with children out there and I am moving on with the love of my life and she wants to be a part of my children's lives too, I feel you man but there are a lot of people that act like only women are abused and are trying to get out of bad relationships. Now that I am on the right path I look back and wonder why I tried so hard and for so long even making excuses for my ex hoping for things to get better just to keep the family together. Now that I am out of the toxic relationship I feel horrible for the damaged I brought on me and my children for trying to "make it work" with their birth mother.

WOW.... I listened to this song for the first time last Friday June, 18th 2021. It was my sister and brother in law"first dance" song... I am in love a million times over.... Not for nothing however I am a Hispanic and African-American woman. I've been writing poetry for 12 years.i traveled some of the world doing open-mics, spoken word slams and spreading words of encouragement. I listen to and relate to many different genres, generations and groups of music. (As you can imagine being multi-cultural and bilingual. However I've ALWAYS related to and appreciated country music on a deeper level than any other genre of music. Eight times out of ten when I listen to a country song for the first time, it speaks to my spirit. Almost feels like it talking directly to me or telling pieces of my story/life. Almost similar to going to church and the pastor has a word that speaks especially to you and you think he/she has been a part of your life because they are so precise and accurate unfreezing what you NEED to hear and receive. EVEN If you don't want to hear it, somebody or something new you needed to hear it, at that very moment at that very time. 💖💚💛💜

What Morgan Wallen did for Jason Isbell’s song is very similar to what Merle Haggard did for Blaze Foley’s “If I Could Only Fly”. I still believe Merle Haggard’s If I Could Only Fly is one of the best renditions of a country song ever created, he was able to add emotion and a true sense of character to the song. WOW.... I listened to this song for the first time last Friday June, 18th 2021. It was my sister and brother in law"first dance" song... I am in love a million times over.... Not for nothing however I am a Hispanic and African-American woman. I've been writing poetry for 12 years.i traveled some of the world doing open-mics, spoken word slams and spreading words of encouragement. I listen to and relate to many different genres, generations and groups of music. (As you can imagine being multi-cultural and bilingual. However I've ALWAYS related to and appreciated country music on a deeper level than any other genre of music. Eight times out of ten when I listen to a country song for the first time, it speaks to my spirit. Almost feels like it talking directly to me or telling pieces of my story/life. Almost similar to going to church and the pastor has a word that speaks especially to you and you think he/she has been a part of your life because they are so precise and accurate unfreezing what you NEED to hear and receive. EVEN If you don't want to hear it, somebody or something new you needed to hear it, at that very moment at that very time. 💖💚💛💜

This song almost brings me to tears, as one of my closest friends, has an alcohol addiction, and the lyrics "But I sobered up and I swore off that stuff forever this time" Really hits hard, because he stopped before my neice, his daughter, was born and recently started within the past few months, and my niece is almost 2 years old. I am worried about him, as he almost died of liver damage, and is on that track again.

I think what this is about is his struggle with addiction. And his woman stays there by his side to help him get clean. He wants to be clean for them because he loves her enough. I can relate when he says i sobered up swore that stuff forever this time.

What Morgan Wallen did for Jason Isbell’s song is very similar to what Merle Haggard did for Blaze Foley’s “If I Could Only Fly”. I still believe Merle Haggard’s If I Could Only Fly is one of the best renditions of a country song ever created, he was able to add emotion and a true sense of character to the song. And I think that’s exactly what Morgan Wallen did for “Cover Me Up”. Very well done.
