Wow, I always regret reading RUclips comments. Sometimes, I really feel sorry for Simon and Martina for having to read this stuff. They can't even dress how they want and joke around with their interns without getting hate for it. People always find something to criticize.
Me too :/ But thats just how RUclips is. With any video there's The Critics, The Critique's, & The One's who actually came in with an open mind and enjoyed or disliked the video but at least kept it to themselves.
Omg I almost died of laughter when simon opened up the pizza from pizza hut. His reaction was priceless. Espiacaly wiith the backround music and the sheep sound going off. I swear this channel will be the death me.

People should stop tell Pizza Hut to change their "crazy menu" in the comment. Pizza Hut, like every other food chains, alter their menu depending on the population they are catering for. If they make these, it means Koreans must like them, although they are not in tune with your taste. They wouldn't be stupid enough to put a butt load of things no one would order on their menu, and just loose their money with it. I'm well traveled and I can tell you that menus at McDonalds also change depending on the country you are in. I quickly looked up the American pizza hut menu and it's not the same in my country. It's the same deal with some drinks, there are flavors of coca-cola and fanta in my country that I've never seen abroad. We also have a sort of cold lipton ice-tea that I've never see elsewhere. They just adapt with the market.
yeah i mean im korean n i would actually LOVE LOVE to eat all those pizzas!!!!! :D so weird because i always thought american pizzas r worse than ours... lol i guess we all have different tastes of pizza! :D

You are right. Here in Mexico they put beans and meat like it was a taco and spicy stuff. I don't like any of that but some people do. There's something for everyone.
Bakeries like Paris baguette and Tous De Jours are on almost every corner in Seoul. Pizza in Seoul, like Pizza Hut and Dominos, seem very inspired by these type of bakeries. That's probably where all the awkward sweet tastes and stupid choice of ingredients come from. Which brings you the following problem: where the F'k can you go to get normal pizza like the states? New York style pizza? Reasonable prices? Apparently, NOWHERE. Also, cheese in Korea is more expensive than the states, another factor for the higher prices.
Master Yi Maybe you should try to look out for American restaurants? I can't guarantee the prices but I've been to one in Sinchon and the food was pretty decent. I don't remember if they had pizza though, but the rest was pretty good in my opinion (it was a buffet-style place, near the Hyundai Mall/Store/whatevettheycallthis). To me it was very much a "I need to eat something else than korean food" moment xD (I'm not American myself but I've lived there, and to me it did look fairely good)
its just america then... thats why we are fat LOL~ were get a medium pizza for 5 bucks~ from dominos. or if we want a Large 5 topping pizza for like 11. but they are just deals~ regularly. its about 20 bucks for a medium pizza.
Eat Your Kimchi in indonesia we could get the large size from pizza hut around $10....this video shocked me damn much. and knowing Alicia Marshall get $5 for the large one make me feel sad...
I live in NZ and just letting you know that it's $5 for like....cheese pizza and pepperoni...chicken pizzas and seafood pizzas are like...$12-$15, still better than those $30 pizzas but still...not that cheap :/
SilverflameYoshi83 In the US there are many morbidly obese who got that way through compulsive eating of cheap pizza. I am around Koreans alot in the US and they do not get fat. Maybe Koreans in Korea do not eat large amounts and weigh hundreds of pounds.
The base on which pizza is made is actually flatness from the Middle East. I went into a bakery in Kandahar with another person and $0.25 in Afghanies. We left with so much flat bread that both of us had our arms full.
HUAGHH THOSE PRICES Same here for the "American" pizza places. "Japanese" pizza is a little cheaper, but the crust has the same thickness and rigidity of a crepe so it's fun times trying to eat those.

hopefully no one sees this and thinks pizza hut/mr pizza represents the pizza scene in korea. there is PLENTY of smaller chains/restaurants that have american-style pizzas, with all the standard topping options. they are also reasonably priced in comparison to these places, which is clearly charging for the amount of stuff (different crusts, toppings, etc). korea has good pizza!!! don't be afraid!!! p.s. totally feel you on the "regular" pizza thing. korean large is like the standard medium in american. there was a place i ordered from that had like, extra large and that was like 12 slices in a circle. it was comically large
Not sure if you're aware of this but if you search for it, there are a lot of offers and coupons for pizza places in Korea. For example if you get take out instead of delivering you can get 1+1, size upgrade , etc
What!!!! You don't like cinnamon in your pizza? hahaha! :-P The majority of Korean food is great, but when it comes to pizza you should always go for the normal standard pizza. The "fancy" ones are really awful. Pizza is not, how can i say this, "native" to Korea and we just don't know how to make great pizza. Ji

+Miss Jade Patrice There really is a dessert pizza: it's a combo of melted marshmallow & fudge, and a sweet custard/cream base instead of tomato sauce. Toppings optional of course.
These weird pizza options remind me of in shokugeki no souma (or food wars) where souma would like put peanut butter on squid and everyone's like "why would you do this??? its so disgusting???" and hes like "yeah! i know! i think its the grossest thing ive ever made!!!"
As an Italian it's quite weird seeing how many things other countries put on pizzas because in Italy we will never see a pizza with pineapple, cream cheese, chicken or stuff like that. They always have "normal" ingredients like sausage, mushrooms, vegetables, ham... Also the price is insane O_O The most expensive pizza here is something like 10-12 dollars and the size is also quite big. However this video was interesting and I really liked the one shaped like a star, it was original ^^
K-dramaddicted I agree that pizza can get kinda wild but I gotta fight for my pineapple. The type of cheese that comes in the stuff crust in TX is super salty so it really compliments the sweetness of the pineapple. The key is to bake it so the sugar caramelizes slightly. I know I once had a strange pizza with Alfredo sauce, procutto, spinach and basaltic vinegar. Surprisingly, It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

Here in Brazil pizza restaurants use to have something like 30 flavors in their menu. The pizzas are really big and have a lot of filling. They cost around 10 dollars. My favorite flavor is "Portuguese pizza" Which is filled with mozzarella, ham, baked eggs, onion slices, corn, peas and olives. Have someone ever tried sweet pizza? I think they are disgusting.

I make pizza at home all the time, from scratch. It is so easy that I cannot fathom how someone can mess up and make a bad pizza. Flour, salt, oil, water, and yeast... That's it! You can put anything on there and it will be good! And how does this simple and delicious food cost over $30?
Yep, same here. I make my own sauce too and can make them at home using regular retail costs for ingredients for well under $2 each. And they're very large, not those tiny things.
My friend and I almost ordered pizza in Japan but IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE. Also, they put corn everywhere, which I mean I love corn but I don't think I'm ready to have corn on pizza yet haha

Yeah some pizza in Korea is really good! But this was specifically trying to test out those "trendy" pizzas that tend to pop up at Korean chain locations. Just say NO to the trendy pizza of doom.

This reminds me of one time when I was 14 years old in Juvy; we were all 'good' that week so the staff told us we were going to get to make our own pizzas and have a competition on who made the best. My friend and I were on a team and I blanketed the pizza in cinnamon. They actually put the thing in a 500 F degree oven for 15 minutes and couldn't explain the putrid odor or the smoke alarms going off. It was a good day.

It's expensive because it's Pizza Hut and Mr. Pizza.... There's lots of other restaurants which are much cheaper. Also restaurants like McD, BurgerKing or Lotteria are quite cheap I'd say.
While my husband was stationed in Korea (US Army), we had the pleasure of eating Pizza Hut there. It was 40 USD total. We just got a normal pepperoni pizza. It was hands down THEE best pizza we have ever had. I would travel back to Korea for many reasons, that pizza being one of them. Oh the dreams I will have tonight... Our first pizza there was so shocking though, the green stuff (I cannot remember what it was called) literally shocked me.

The majority of Korean food is great, but when it comes to pizza you should always go for the normal standard pizza. The "fancy" ones are really awful. Pizza is not, how can i say this, "native" to Korea and we just don't know how to make great pizza.

As an Italian it's quite weird seeing how many things other countries put on pizzas because in Italy we will never see a pizza with pineapple, cream cheese, chicken or stuff like that. They always have "normal" ingredients like sausage, mushrooms, vegetables, ham... Also the price is insane O_O The most expensive pizza here is something like 10-12 dollars and the size is also quite big. However this video was interesting and I really liked the one shaped like a star, it was original ^^
K-dramaddicted I agree that pizza can get kinda wild but I gotta fight for my pineapple. The type of cheese that comes in the stuff crust in TX is super salty so it really compliments the sweetness of the pineapple. The key is to bake it so the sugar caramelizes slightly.
I know I once had a strange pizza with Alfredo sauce, procutto, spinach and basaltic vinegar. Surprisingly, It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
I know this is super late, but now that I live in Italy, pizza will never be the same. I’ve been ruined by amazing Italian food 😍

It's just Mr. Pizza and Pizza Hut. There are so many other pizza restaurants with bigger pizzas which are also cheaper at the same time...
You can go to other pizza places and get a bigger pizza for, like, six bucks. These pizzas were just the fancy-pants pizzas.

Here in Brazil pizza restaurants use to have something like 30 flavors in their menu. The pizzas are really big and have a lot of filling. They cost around 10 dollars.
My favorite flavor is "Portuguese pizza" Which is filled with mozzarella, ham, baked eggs, onion slices, corn, peas and olives.

I make pizza at home all the time, from scratch. It is so easy that I cannot fathom how someone can mess up and make a bad pizza. Flour, salt, oil, water, and yeast... That's it! You can put anything on there and it will be good! And how does this simple and delicious food cost over $30?
Yep, same here. I make my own sauce too and can make them at home using regular retail costs for ingredients for well under $2 each. And they're very large, not those tiny things.

This reminds me of one time when I was 14 years old in Juvy; we were all 'good' that week so the staff told us we were going to get to make our own pizzas and have a competition on who made the best. My friend and I were on a team and I blanketed the pizza in cinnamon. They actually put the thing in a 500 F degree oven for 15 minutes and couldn't explain the putrid odor or the smoke alarms going off. It was a good day.

iAmSVD pizza can be a LOT cheaper in korea. I guess they chose expensive ones because they come in more varieties.
Same story in Japan with expensive pizzas, except that is probably Japan's "large" size, for the same $35 worth.
It's expensive because it's Pizza Hut and Mr. Pizza.... There's lots of other restaurants which are much cheaper. Also restaurants like McD, BurgerKing or Lotteria are quite cheap I'd say.
While my husband was stationed in Korea (US Army), we had the pleasure of eating Pizza Hut there. It was 40 USD total. We just got a normal pepperoni pizza. It was hands down THEE best pizza we have ever had. I would travel back to Korea for many reasons, that pizza being one of them. Oh the dreams I will have tonight... Our first pizza there was so shocking though, the green stuff (I cannot remember what it was called) literally shocked me.

사이먼와 마티나 여러분께 질문을 드리자면, 빵은 빵이고 피자는 피자답게 나오는게 보통 외국 음식점의 컨셉인가요? 한국에서는 피자빵을 베이커리에서도 팔고, 피자가게에서도 영상에서 언급하신 실험적인 피자가 나오는 걸 보면, 외국과 한국의 음식에 대한 인식이 조금 다르다는 생각이 들었습니다.
그리고 피자의 가격은.. 솔직히 한국인들도 비싸다고 여깁니다. 그래서 이마트나 코스트코, 홈플러스에서 파는 저렴하면서 양이 많은 피자가 요즘 인기가 많은 편이잖아요 :) 한국에서 피자헛, 미스터피자, 파파존스피자같은 대형 브랜드 피자 구매시에 통신사 할인받지 않으시면 정말 손해입니다! 애초에 그들이 할인가를 생각하고 피자 가격을 설정한 것 같기도 하네요. 도미노피자도 35000원짜리 피자를 skt vip 30%할인받어 구매하면, 23500원에도 먹을 수 있으니.. 아니면 동네에 많은 스쿨피자, 59피자는 저렴한데 이런 곳의 피자도 한 번 다뤄주시면 좋겠어요!
