  • Here it is! I have been waiting for this release all summer and what a kit! I would have to say that this model is not for the faint of heart...it is thousands of parts and it is huge. This thing is a monster with the hull easily the length of two Panzer III's. I have quite a bit of vehicle history in the beginning so if you want to skip past that the actual review begins about 7:50.

    That looks like a good kit and what a monster it is i like the idea of the PE rivets but in the long run HB could of had them as molded plastic but hey it's a very nice looking kit for a long term project thanks for sharing Andy cheers. :)

    Aw man.....I missed the bit that tells you to start at 7.50! Great review but only seen it just now. Dont know how I missed it for a month? Maybe in Florida, but did have free wifi in my motel, so tried to keep up to date etc.

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  9 лет назад

      ahhhh...Hotel Wifi I know it well but I am not sure you can really call it wifi it is sooooo slow. Unless you pay the $5-10 to upgrade to the "faster" speed which is still pretty darn slow.

    I just found this review and it's outstanding !!! This tank has been a mainstay for scratchbuilding for decades. I've wanted one for years,myself but couldn't motivate myself to start and glad ,now, I didn't. I have to admit that after seeing your review I'm having second thoughts about adding this to my collection, cause I know it will never get finished !!! LOL!!! If I get one its only for kit collection. Great job on your review ! I have to second the idea of taking the parts out of the bag. It makes them much easier to see on camera.

    You missed (or I didn't hear) the size of the crew: 11 poor bastards.
    Nice review, still hoping you'll do one on the Tamiya sanding sponges...

      Thank you Forbes! You want a review of the sponges?? Hmmmm...let me absorb that for a moment. I can do that but I think I threw away some of the packaging. I'll look.

    Extremely useful review, it really looks like a fine of this huge tank! The star on the turret roof is actually correct. During parades these tanks had several separate stars, bolted on some parts, just for the event. Thanks for the review!

    this looks awesome, right down my alley. thank you for showing the kit in detail, i´m always suspicious when it comes to hobby boss kits. they disappointed me a couple of times already, mainly due to the bad tracks. their newer link and lenght system seems to be better now, so i´m not worried at all in this case.

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  10 лет назад

      Hamilkar Barkas You bet bud! They have the T-28 multi turret medium tank coming out soon as well.

    It is a huge improvement over the ICM classic kit, it seems. I certainly hope you'll enjoy the build and that HB will hold up to the praises I so easily put out there! ;)
    Thanks for sharing!

    Looks brilliant but I'd want to mod those wheels and tracks, so they move. How could one achieve that?

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  8 лет назад

      +JasonJason210 I would have no idea.

    • @JasonJason210
      @JasonJason210 8 лет назад +1

      +TacticalJackalope
      There is a company that sell chain metal tracks for this model. Then you'd need to find a way to make the wheels rotate, which is the hardest part. And the suspension.

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  8 лет назад

      JasonJason210 I say go for it. Not my cup of tea though.

    This looks like a lot of fun. I've built a few other Soviet tanks myself, but not the T-35. Does anyone know how to mix that lighter shade of pre-war Soviet green (in Tamiya, or Acryl colours, since those are what I have easiest access to)?

    So is it MUCH better than the old ICM/Alanger kits? I have the T-35 and the T-28 kits but the tracks are not accurate....
    Most of these tanks were lost in the opening battles of 1941.....more were lost to mechanical troubles than German gunners. One of the turret antennas is probably for the T-28, it looks just like it. You use the protected one.
    The decals are for the Parade Ground version....and maybe a training battalion?

    • @TacticalJackalope

      milky55way2012 Night and day difference and I would say it will also lower the price of the few existing ICM kits out there.

    Please, please remove the plastic bags BEFORE recording your evaluation of any model kit. Your camera will not focus because of the reflection the plastic bags provide. Not only is it extremely annoying to listen to the crinkling, it is impossible to examine the details of the kit. Your lighting is great. Your setting is great.
