    First great review, easy to follow all the way.....this is a perfect example of why Tamiya has been around for so long, good quality, good subjects, builder friendly and affordable. Good job Andy....

    Picked this kit up recently, and built/ painted it up pretty quick! Really appreciated the one piece gun barrel (a rarity among Tamiya kits). Just like you mentioned, I picked this kit up to build the tank Fury from the movie of the same name, and once its all said and done it looks great! A great addition to my collection, right along side my Tiger 131 (from Dragon) funnily enough. Nice review as always! Can't wait to see what Tamiya has in store next!

      +The Zephyr Thank you and I appreciate the feedback on your build. Interestingly enough they have an SU-76 on the way either late this winter or early spring. Check out the link below: spruenews.blogspot.com/2015/12/tamiya-su-76.html

    Nice presentation on Tamiya in your opening remarks. Hey, it's blinking affordable, too! I have yet to buy a Tasca kit due to the amazing price tag that comes with their kits. Lol! Wow . . . A multi-piece chassis? Yay! No open sponsons! Slide molded barrel! Oh my! Must Buy! Great review, Andy! Model on!

    Looks like a sweet kit! I do really like how Tamiya throws in figures with their kits, that's always a huge plus for me, and the cast texture looks really really good. I'd sure enjoy that build; I like having an easier time sometimes with my builds. Still, personally I don't know what I'd choose given this and their Tasca re-box. I can't wait for their SU-76 though, I love my SP guns!

    As everyone else has already said, great review, Andy! I got this kit back in December and it looks really nice! (Haven't been able to build it yet as I got a Golden Retriever puppy at around the same time! LOL).
    Being the huge Easy 8 fan that I am and having just gotten back into the hobby (after 20 year hiatus) last year I spent about $60 to get the Academy E8 kit. It's nice and looks pretty good when built (even with my limited skills), but this Tamiya kit looks superior. Looking forward to starting it soon...

    Thank you for another great review!! I am going to start mine tonight. I love the surface texture and running grear. It's funny how you mentioned Meng. I built their MRAP and enjoyed it (was more work than I am used to) but their T 90 gave me fits and so it went back in it's box last night. Way too over-engineered for me, so I am looking forward to my Sherman. I am quite sure you'll enjoy yours!

    Love the review, I got this kit and may buy a replacement gun barrel. I find funny' I always say to myself build it strait from the box and then have silly moment and send for adding PE, and sometimes individual tracks. happy new year.

    good review Andy. i bet this will be a big seller. just wish tamiya did more releases ,especially of modern subjects , as I really enjoy their superb engineering

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  8 лет назад +1

      +Armour Empire I am with you there Mark. They have the Su-76 coming out soon and the rumor mill has it they have an AMX-13 coming which is sort of modern. I was watching an interview with Mr. Tamiya when their new Yamato kit was released in 2011 and he told the interviewer that they spent 13 million in development of that kit! Surely something like a tank doesn't require that kind of funding?

    Most interesting I may have to get this one from Tamiya. I love Tamiya kits quick and easy, just how I like my chocolate. I do think it would sell better if they did exactly the tank from Fury with 30cal and decals to match.

    Nice review. I already have my kit (not constructed as of this post, though). I wanted the Tasca kit but the price tag was a bit too high to justify. This kit should be fine. Probably will end up replacing the "rubber band" tracks with a workable set.

    the most enjoyable kits out there are from tamiya :) i just find it weird that the muzzle break comes in two pieces, i would prefer it to have it in one piece and the rest of the barrel in two pieces instead of the way it is.

    I was wondering if you had a tamiya hanomag kit you could do a review on, considering to get one with plans to put it into a diorama. Also any tips on what kind of paints to use for german infantry, any advice would be much appreciated. Great review btw, always take these reviews into consideration when looking to buy a model, looking forward to adding this one to the pile.

      +Floatable Tractor the old Hanomag kit? Its old...very old like circa 1975. You can buy it like 10-12 bucks with your 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby. Its o.k. but it is not up to today's standards. It can be built into a fine model just don't expect super detail.

    Very good review and very useful, Tamiya kits are great and among my favorites, but, they are getting extremely expensive. Some of their recent kits arrived at 75 euros, and even more, prices not affordable. I have build the Academy M4A3E8 which is also a fine kit and much cheaper.

      +ALEXANDER SAMOILIS I can totally understand that Alexander. The key to buying Tamiya kits is to get them from the source...Japan. Check out the link I provided that is one of my favorite sellers on Ebay.

    fantastic review as always! if I didn't have so many Kits to build, I would have this for sure. and cheap too. did someone mention 2 Kits for 68 bucks or something? that is a bargain. other reviews say the only thing is the drivers and RO hatches are not cast on the real thing and should be smooth, but hey, its not like me to be a Smart ass or anything, right? lol.

    hi Jackalope, great review (as usual), but I'm confused!!!
    I recently purchased this kit, and it's molded in white/light-grey plastic! and all reviews on you-tube are molded in olive plastic!!
    Any idea why this is?
    cheers bud. 👍

    The Tamiya one doesn't have enough details. I still think the Tasca/Asuka one is still the best in the market. There are something missing in that kit.

    • @TacticalJackalope
      @TacticalJackalope  8 лет назад

      +chun hung hardy mung The Tasca kits are like $65-70 this one is about $35 and is plenty detailed. Not every one likes a super complicated high parts count build. If you are patient I am sure Trumpeter will come out with one for you that has 1500 parts.
