  • The exhibition Elizabeth Taylor in Iran: Photographs by Firooz Zahedi, on view at LACMA through June 12, 2011, features images of Taylor made during a 1976 trip to Iran. It was a remarkable journey, as documented by Zahedi's photographs, shown together here for the first time. The pair traveled to the main tourist sites, including Ancient Persepolis, Shiraz and Isfahan. Though Zahedi photographed Taylor many times in the years following their trip to Iran, none are as personal, candid or creative as these images. For more information, visit lacma.org.

You guys, you have to remember this is WAYYY BACK WHEN. Watching movies is a pleasure that even a number of people in the West weren't able to see.

I was there when she was visiting BAZAR VAKIL SHIRAZ .I remember that I walked after them all the way in BAZAR VAKIL(she was with two men ). one of those store owner (HAGI )asked me that they say she is a movie star!!?and I told him yes she is and I whispered to myself how fool you are that you don't know her .They got into a car (Pejo) and drove away after.I read in magazine later, that the trip was a private trip to IRAN .

I have a lot of bad qualities but hate is not one of them. I just said what I felt like saying. I am not in love with anyone from the past regime but DO NOT hate them either.
PS: It is very hard to post anything here. Cannot see where the arrow is!

@pari6661 He said PARTS of the country where people don't watch movies and I hate to break it down to you but not all Iran is like Tehran or Tabriz or other big cities for that matter. There are STILL many villages where people don't watch movies and STILL use donkeys and such, let alone at that time and there is nothing degrading about it. It's very authentic and lovely.

My great grand mother was a villager and she knew who Elizabeth Taylor was. Mr Zahedi is obviously speaking from his upper class upbringing, thinking all villagers were peasants

Are you talking about this gentleman, artist, Mr. Zahedi ? C'mon ....Why do you have to be so hateful & "Bad Goo" ?? What did he do to you, personally?! One of the worst qualities of human being is to be "jealous and envious" !!! " Live & Let Live..." He is a classy man and he had an opportunity to record something positive about "Elizabeth Taylor" (RIP) and subsequently give a "Positive Image" to Iran and Iranians... THAT IS THE ONLY POINT HERE!!! Love & Peace

I don't think the problem is your memories. It is lack of your knowledge. I wonder if were as young as you say you were when you left Iran how come you still do not differentiate between D and TH? ghalaagh mikhaast raah raftane kapk ro yaad begireh ke nagereft va raah raftan khodash ham yaadeh raft.

Yeah and then calling the tchador "traditional"🤦🏻‍♀️
The tchador is religious, not traditional.
