+Taco Crisma He isn't 'miming' in the strictest sense but there is definitely a backing track playing during the cleans. All the tracks from Genexus when played live have backing tracks as does Powershifter. He is still singing but it is beneath the backing track. Lots of artists do similar things, it just obviously isn't that prevalent in metal.
+josefrancisco I hate to say, maybe effects overlay... BUT!! Burton did display a different clean vocal in the recordings, much different , than I have heard before.
@@Khazandar and still they are one of the worst live bands i´ve ever heared in my life. Love their songs, no question.. but this mess here should not be delieverd from such a band.
the vocals during Dielectric were unbelievable! and it sounds like it varies just enough from the recording that it sounds real (not over-dubbed). good job!
+TenThirty-Two Yeah, it's in Chicago, google will show you where. They don't have a lot of metal shows, but they do have Epica, Queensryche, Helloween, Sonata Arctica coming in the next couple months.
did something happen to his vocal chords ? he doesnt hold them out as long as the album version ? maybe hes exhausted ? idk lol. great fucking performance though
Fear Factory is one of my favorite bands but they need to get new younger generation of fans, one way that could happen if they have one of the new tracks on movie soundtrack or in the video game like GTA or NFS.
DjJokerr Very much so. They should be miles bigger than they are and way more relevant. Especially as alot of the stuff kids listen to today is either directly influenced by them or shit.
+revivedfears I agree. I remember seeing them on both the Demanufacture' & 'Obsolete' tours when they were blowing up. Supporting Metallica, then after 'Digimortal' it went sideways... I hope they can build on 'Genexus'. It would be fantastic if some of the music on it was picked up for a game out film - something the kids would pick up on. They deserve it. Still making cutting edge music and relevant since '92 - a lesson to alot of 'older bands'
***** Absolutely. I think it is pretty unlikely that they will ever reach their late 90's status again, but Genexus is completely a step in the right direction. The fact that they put out an album of comparable quality as their heyday is a testament to how much of an achievement Genexus is. Not many bands are still putting out relevant records 25 years in to their career, especially metal bands.
+revivedfears I agree wholeheartedly. I think if they can stabilise the lineup as it is and write as a band rather than just Dino in his bedroom then they have the potential to truly hit the bullseye. I think Mike Heller has done a stellar job drumming and Rhys Fulber has taken the electronics to another level. A full-time bass player rather than a guitarist on bass would complete things and I think Campos can more than fit the bill. We shall see... Until then, onwards and upwards for the Machines of Hate!! \m/ \m/
nah nah nah. hes fucking lip syncing the clean bits in Dielectric. its too perfect for him and it sounds pretty much identical to the studio part. dont get me wrong, i love fear factory and their music, but im pretty sure he cant sing this good live
The guy is right, Burt I singing beneath a backing track during the chorus. No shame in it, he's nearly 50 for fucks sake. This is still the best form he has been in since the Archetype tour, that vocal coach has done a lot of good for him.
This is literally one of the best live recordings I've ever seen
Burton's voice.. holy cow. Accurate as fuck. Just wow.
He's miming
Well miming the cleans
+Robert Percy not at all. When we opened up for them there was no miming to be had.
+Taco Crisma Agreed. He took voice lessons. Again and a much better one.

Man, Burton is actually singing right this time. That vocal coach that Burton hired did a great job.
+josefrancisco Was about time to do something about that, too bad it is almost 2 decades into bands existence, well better late than never.
+josefrancisco I hate to say, maybe effects overlay... BUT!! Burton did display a different clean vocal in the recordings, much different , than I have heard before.
Two decades? Fear Factory's been around for close to 30 years.

They sound fucking awesome.
Beautiful medley. Dielectric
Awesome video! Genexus is amazing and the boys are killing it live, Burton's vocals sound spot on
Fear Factory is so underrated. They sound amazing!
Have to say, burt's voice sounds a lot better than it did a year ago.
agreed i thought he was through
Good mix of growls and real singing. Not easy to switch and be good at both like that.
Holy shit balls Burton is on his A-game more than ever! \m/
So happy to see Burton's vocals sounding this good again. Bravo sir!
drank a little too much on this fine evening, thanks for the memory jog! Gotta love FF.
+Sydney Curran Just go out on limited sleep, kinda of similar to getting high, but you'd still probably remember it better.
great quality video, excellent stuff
That is awesome! I'll see them tonight in Rio. So excited!
Burton best life performance voice fuckin hard and clean
burt sounds better than he has in years. wow
the vocals during Dielectric were unbelievable! and it sounds like it varies just enough from the recording that it sounds real (not over-dubbed). good job!
Take me back! I was there and loved the show they put on!
oh man!... that vocals are so much better.! Great video.
Very, very good clean sing, almost better than when he was young and have the facility, like 96´
They finally went back to there old roots of fear factory i love it
I think the backing track helps him with the pitch hitting the notes, should have done it 20 years ago
you'll never take my slow lol
haha
SEEEYYYOOOOUL
Hey! During Dielectric, going into the Bridge of the song, where you caught Burton head banging is badass! I love the energy and I love this band.
YOU'LL NEVER TAKE MAH SEEYYYYOOUL
*Was this at the House of Blues?*
+TenThirty-Two Concord Music Hall
*In Chicago?? Where's that? I've been everywhere but that venue.*
+TenThirty-Two Yeah, it's in Chicago, google will show you where. They don't have a lot of metal shows, but they do have Epica, Queensryche, Helloween, Sonata Arctica coming in the next couple months.

Very true. FF have never got the recognition they deserve. They helped establish entire scenes yet are never cited as an influence by younger bands.

Your an idiot
