She has such a special voice. What an outstanding girl, she looks very beautiful to me.
I probably listen to this track once a week and it still gives me goosebumps and a lump in my throat. I think its the combination of Ellie's ethereal voice and the chord structures, whatever it is I simply adore this piece....
the old days... when the songs she wrote were pure and she were true to herself.... i miss this so much
ellie may have changed her music a bit but she remains a trueblue original. Her songs come on the radio, and you immediately know they are her's. Her voice makes it special, not beats, electronic riffing or "drops". And when she covers songs or sings her own acoustically, we are brought back to "this ellie". Everyone is allowed to change and evolve, i'm just thankful she remembers where she comes from.

It's extremely rare you find a musician now a days that performs just as well live, in this case better, as they do on a CD. Her voice is beyond amazing and so unique, i'm upset that i'm just discovering her music now.
Ellie Goulding is an amazing artist. Her music has changed a lot from what it used to sound like, but it hasn't lost any of her spirit of personality. Plus the covers that she does keep the same feeling that the original artists intend with her own twist to them. She makes them her own.

Sooooo much better than the over the top commercial productions that comprise most of her music. Her voice works really well with just guitar and piano.

She is amazing. It is so ashame that the record companies make these truly talented natural singers sound like everyone else instead of weeding out the ones that can't really sing at all. Ellie has been left shadowed by the younger ones who can't really sing...or can but also get hidden by voiceovers. This needs no editing. This is pure singing. From the heart. You don't edit how someone feels.
Her vocal techniques are crazy! She's always had an amazing talent and skill with being able to bend her voice to what she wants. She did an interview recently talking about this and it's pretty amazing how she sings

I miss THIS Ellie. I don't like the POP PRINCESS that she has become.
I see a lot of comments like this on this video, so i'm definitely not trying to single you out when I say this but; in any recent interviews or chats anyone has with Ellie, it's pretty clear to see how happy and proud she is of her new material. Obviously i freaking love this stuff, the raw and acoustic vocals. But her new music still has the raw talent we know she has. It may be more pop-like, but she's far from a pop princess. She makes it known how strong, honest and real she is. She maintains a down-to-earth personality and is living a happy life. Her music may have changed, and we can't expect her not to evolve, but she's still THIS Ellie. X

+Jess Smith She's evolved in the sense that she appeals to more of the mass (mostly stupid) audience, but I don't think her newer stuff is anywhere near as good. Compare any of her 'old school' songs to on my mind and it's hard to say it's on a par with any of them to me. I think she probably met some unscrupulous people along the road that advised her to change her sound to "break america" or something of the like.

i totally understand what you guys mean by "old ellie" but all in all she's always been a pop artist and always had poppy electronic music. Halcyon is an exception but she was in a darker place i believe when she wrote that album. i honestly think that her old music off of Lights and her new stuff are pretty similar. Of course her sound has changed a bit but that's just called progression lol.

I went to school with Ellie and she was much more folky/acoustic focused before her career really launched, but she was pushed in certain directions for a more mainstream appeal. Like most talented singers, she's versatile.
