  • Today, we will visit the Ceratopsian memorial and go back in time to visit Hell Creek, one of the many environments that were inhabited by Triceratops!
Such is the life of Triceratops and its relatives during the last day of the Cretaceous period.

Having a plant-eater standing above its slain attacker is such a great subversion of the cliche of museum displays showing predators with their kills

Not to mention in a head-to-head clash, most likely Triceratops would win against Tyrannosaurus. Plus, scientists have found triceratops with healed bite wounds. And I don’t even want to know what happened to the attacking tyrannosaurus.

I think Triceratops was at least semi-social just because how ridiculously abundant it was, it was the most abundant large herbivore in the Hell's Creek & if you look at todays ecosystems the most common herbivore on the landscape is almost always social.

Five people in seven months created the best, most accurate dinosaurs for a full length documentary. Better than another Trikes we've seen on the big screens so far. And the Rex is definitely on par with Hank from and his girl Prehistoric Planet

I never hear people talk about this, but as of writing we've found no evidence of notable sexual dimorphism in large Ceratopsids. Even species known from well-preserved bonebeds such as Centrosaurus, Styracosaurus & Triceratops. What I'm getting at here is what if in Ceratopsids both sexes were selecting for the horns & ornamentations on the other? Think about it, if just the males were under sexual-selection we should see larger, more robust & larger horned morphs obvious in the population which we don't really see in Ceratopsids. What if they had a colony bird-like breeding system? Where both sexes were selecting for colors & display structures on the other?
To be clear this just a theory, but it's interesting to ponder.

This was amazing! Also in case you’re planning on making more of these kinds of videos, I’d love to see more species from different dinosaur groups that also have their own monument dome that preserves a statue for 12 species just like what was shown for the Ceratopsian dome but with the main subject species of the video taking center stage like how the golden Triceratops statue was presented.
As far as ideas I have for videos about different species from different unique groups, for Ornithischians, I opted for Life of Edmontosaurus (would look like the gigantic X-Rex specimen) and 11 other Hadrosaurs & Iguanodonts should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Pachycephalosaurus & 11 other Pachycephalosaurids should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Thescelosaurus & 11 other Neornithiscians should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Ankylosaurus & 11 other Ankylosaurids & Nodosaurids should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of either Stegosaurus or Wuerhosaurus (because although Stegosaurus is the most popular, Wuerhosaurus may have been the more successful species so it may be worth presenting Wuerhosaurus as the species to take center stage) & 11 other Stegosaurids should appear in the monument alongside it.
Then for Sauropods as a whole, I opted for Life of Alamosaurus, & 11 other Sauropods from the group as a whole should appear in the monument alongside it, this one will be the biggest dome yet especially since all the animals are in scale to their real life sizes.
Then for Theropods, I opted for Life of Carnotaurus & 11 other Ceratosauroids & maybe Early Jurassic Theropods should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Spinosaurus & 11 other Megalosauroids should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Mapusaurus & 11 other Allosauroids should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Tyrannosaurus & 11 other Tyrannosauroids including a Megaraptorid should appear in the monument alongside it.
Life of Therizinosaurus & 11 other species from the Therizinosaurid, Ornithomimid, Oviraptorid and Alvarezsaurid families should all appear together in the monument alongside it, like something as simple as showing Therizinosaurus as the center piece, but then the other 11 species from these various groups to best represent them could be Nothronychus, Beipiaosaurus, Deinocheirus, Gallimimus, Ornithomimus, Gigantoraptor, Anzu, Oviraptor, Trierarchuncus, Mononykus & Alvarezsaurus.
Life of Dakotaraptor & 11 other Dromaeosauroids including Microraptorids & Troodontids should appear in the monument alongside it.
As a bonus for Mesozoic life which aren’t dinosaurs, you should also include Life of Quetzalcoatlus & 11 other Pterosaurs from the group as a whole should appear in the monument alongside it.
I know making a video for all of those species sounds like a lot of work given that it took you months just to make the video about Triceratops, but it’d be incredible once it’s completed with these species.
Although I suppose you could lump together Neornithiscians & Hadrosaurs together into one video and put them in the same monument that way you wouldn’t have to make a seperate video for Thescelosaurus, and just stick to Life of Edmontosaurus at that point, also you could technically lump together Allosauroids & Megalosauroids into one video and maybe make it a unique video that focuses on two main species like both Mapusaurus & Spinosaurus and have 10 representative species for both Megalosauroids & Allosauroids that surrounds the Mapusaurus & Spinosaurus which would be the center piece of the monument, similar situation with the Therizinosaurus video where you bring species from different groups together into one monument that surrounds the species that’s the main subject of the video but narrow it down to 10 species in this case because both Spinosaurus & Mapusaurus are in the center stage together, and you wouldn’t have to make a seperate video for both Mapusaurus & Spinosaurus, that way you’d only have to make 12 videos instead of 14, although actually 11 since you already made this video on Triceratops. Plus it’s kinda fitting for it to be 12 videos especially since 12 species would appear in each monument for each respective group.

Sorry to say, the two species of Triceratops didn't live together, just as Tyrannosaurus Mcraensis and Tyrannosaurus Rex didn't live together. T.prorsus would be the descendent of T.horridus just like T.rex would be the descendent of T.Mcraensis. This is a well put togeather video and great visuals! These animals look like they were recorded by a time traveler. Though this is more a documentary on the Ceratopsian family than a video on the life of Triceratops. That video would be centered on a hatchling Triceratops growing up to adulthood with all the wonders and dangers the Hell creek, Frenchman, Lance, or Denver formations. The short version of this documentary fits a life of Triceratops style better. Torosaurus lived alongside Triceratops and Likely would have fed on different plants like fruits and soft leaves. Where as Triceratops would stick to the tougher plants like cycads and ferns along with leafy shrubs. Nice work and again props for the animations of these animals regardless. Some of the best dinosaur and prehistoric life programs are from Britain as I remember watching Walking With Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Beasts amongst others by BBC.

Osteophagy is a poorly misunderstood concept...and I think scientists should reevaluate the specifications of what this word stands by. Just because herbivores animal supplement their diet with protein doesn't categorize them as Omnivores. If Crocodile will eat watermelons and a Dog devours grass--does this make them omnivores too?

Shame you didn't touch on it's ball and socket neck joint. The only one that nature ever produced. That thing made Triceratops a true unit. It might not have been the fastest critter, but with its splayed front legs, and that b&s joint on its business end, It was probably one of the most agile of the large non sauropod dinos.

This seems like it was narrated by AI, you should use a real narrator. It becomes very obvious that it was narrated by AI when you get to the parts of the video where the narrator says words like “Ceratopsidae” and it ends up saying “Ceratopsidi”.
