*Note:* There is one, smaller scale watch option available with the current Kickstarter. That being the *Genesis Diver.* There are four models in at 41mm. If you have a smaller wrist and wanted to jump in on one of their diver's that would be the most favorable option.
Thanks for the review Patrick and for clarifying here regarding our smaller offering! We love all your plays with LIV - did they deLIVer and beLIVe it or not - those are ones we've never heard 🤣
Of course! Always happy to drum up some new puns. 🥁⌚️💁♂️ Thanks for sending the watch my way and congratulations on the success of your current Kickstarter campaign thus far! Over *$700K* is no joke. 🙇♂️
Thanks for the review. Not really interested in the brand or the watch, but watched it anyways cause you do such a good job in your watch reviews and may offer good insight regardless. Honestly, I am REALLY surprised it's gotten as much funding as it has. I mean there are a lot backing them. over $700k?! Sorry, I don't get it. It's about the same proportions and build and movement you'd get with some Invicta watches. I've been there and done that, but no longer do I. It's just a similar feel or design philosophy of some of the larger Invicta watches with swiss rhonda movements. This example you have is a bit messy in the dial work. That's the way it comes off to me. Not a fan of the odd lug size, as well. Overall, the rest of the models don't compel me to back or want to buy one. It's definitely a polarizing brand and design for particular market and consumer who digs these sort of designs. Just One More Watch did a recent review on this same watch, I believe. Feel the same basically. I'm more interested in the Tuna on your wrist.. so, you got another Tuna in the collection?
Haha, yes, the sour experience I just had left me with such distaste for the all Tuna kind... Yet it worked in convincing me to, after years of putting it off and waiting for the prices to come down, buy a *SBBN015.* We’ll definitely be talking about it soon on the Channel.
It's definitely not elegant or subtle, but I liked the aesthetic of this enough to get one in Signature Orange, and I don't regret it, at least not yet. It does stand out and command attention; people notice it, so if you don't like getting comments or questions from random strangers, probably stay away. Build quality seems pretty solid, and it seems like it will hold up against a fair bit of abuse. I feel like it's worth the money if you aren't turned off by the very brutal and in-your-face styling which almost certainly isn't going to age well in the long-term. Clearly not an investment piece, this, but it's well-made and not ridiculously priced for what it is. It's also worth noting that this thing is HEAVY on the wrist. It's noticeably heavier than my Seiko 5 or Invicta Pro Diver (yeah, yeah), neither of which are lightweights themselves. That took some getting used to. You will not ever forget that you're wearing a watch when you have this thing on. The GX-1A is a less-busy alternative with a cleaner dial (the very pretty sunburst effect at the center is much more visible) and a slightly smaller overall profile, for those who like the 'machisimo' aesthetic but don't dig the crowded face of the regular GX-1, or who have smaller wrists.
Great review. I like the GX1 but one of my primary concerns is visibility. The hands seem to be small and could be larger. I noticed the GX1A has larger and more prominent sized hands. It has a simpler display. No chronographs dials. I really don’t want an automatic watch. I’m an older gentleman who does not want to interpret the time I want to glance and see the time easily. What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any problems with reading the time. The small hands and ease of visibility is my main drawback. Im torn between 2 phones the Liv GX1 and the Casio GWR-B1000 1A1. It might be apples and oranges but those are my choices. I welcome input on comparison of the 2 watches. I just happen to like these very much and before pulling the trigger on purchasing one of them I welcome opinions. Thx.
I have enormous hands and wrists. My 51mm Nixon watch I had when I was younger looked normal on me, so the size is a must for me. 44mm or smaller looks tiny next to my mitts
Thanks for the review. The GX1 you reviewed doesn't look as good as my GX1. It seems that LIV listened to their customer base and made improvements? Yes, mine looks the same (all in all), but the bezel is thinner in width, lending to a larger overall window. The colorways on the face are the same, but the face doesn't seem as busy, or crowded as some say. also, the tachymeter is continuous, not segmented as in the reviewed watch. I don't want to feel like I'm defending LIV because I own a few, but I'm a watch guy. Watches take up too much of my time and money, as I'm sure you understand Patrick! That being said, almost all the comments are somewhat negative, which is strange to me. If this particular LIV GX1 is not your style, that's understandable. If LIV makes a watch that you like the looks of, rest assured that you will get a watch that could be sold by other watch companies for more than LIV is charging. (I immediately think of some of my Michele watches that use the same Ronda movement). I do understand your points in the Swiss = quality statement. I'm a fan of Japanese quartz movements personally, but nobody in the world will argue that Ronda movements are great. I've many watches that use Ronda, and they never skip a beat. A quality movement, no matter the country of origin. Fashion watch? Here's where I disagree. I'm going to leave the "fashion watch" category in the hands of companies like Michael Kors and Coach, to name ONLY a few. A watch that is purposely built around it's movement? You are talking about automatics now, and only automatics. If a quartz watch (for a man) is porposely built around it's movement, it's going to be small, anyone that's opened up a quartz watch knows that. So every quartz watch that's bigger than necessary for the movement is a fashion watch? Flawed logic there. Yes, the GX1 AUTOMATIC is bigger than it needs to be. The same can be said about my Graham. Enough about the "fashion watch" title, yeah? Back to this watch... At this price point, buy it if you like it, you will not be disappointed. As far as "bang for your buck" goes, LIV is standing near the top in my collection, and they will in yours too. Oh, customer service... Never have I had a single issue. LIV has went above and beyond TWICE with me, and that goes a long way in my book. Cheers all.
For the price. I think a butterfly deployant clasp would make it classier. Nice job LIV. Love the design. Selling some of mine other watch to get yours. I like your new 41mm collection in light blue (please pair it with black strap and orange stitching!).
Thank you for the excellent review. I think I'm going to pass on this brand due to the face layouts, but I want a watch with that crosshatching on the bezel.
Seems like it's designed and marketed to impressionable teen boys. Looks like a toy. Good fit for high schoolers still exploring their own fashion identity perhaps. Can't think of any clever de-acronyms for LIV. "Life is Vanity" seems like a good fit for a fashion setting.
This piece is aight. I do currently have some large pieces in my collection that I am thinking about selling. Nice construction on this piece. Looks rugged and solid but I'm gonna have to pass. Thank for your reviews. I appreciate them more than you know!
Thanks Kenneth. The piece Patrick is reviewing here is not on our current Kickstarter - ruclips.net/user/redirect?redir_token=ZYQBya4c2P661hCA2RrC-MnuebJ8MTUyOTQyNjM0NkAxNTI5MzM5OTQ2&q=https%3A%2F%2Flivwatch.com%2Ftaketime&v=ZXwALvE-DHY&event=video_description - our current Kickstarter include 4 different watches.
23 mm lug width. The watch was probably designed by the same guy who made the distance between the wheel wells on the Dodge Durango pickup truck at 45". And you get to find out in the parking lot of home depot.
Interesting comments and I prefer the other chronograph with gmt bezel. The question I have is why have they been so successful on kickstarter where others have failed?
The dial is a too busy as if they were trying to merge a sandwich dial with a chronograph. Also, why have their logo near 12 o clock and their brand name between 4 and 5 on the dial.
Great Video. And I'm with you that 23m is odd. As for the design reminded me of my Citizen ProActive. I just might have to pick one up and see what's all the fuzz is about.
I just don’t feel like their prices are justifiable. Why do they need kickstarters if they’re a watch company? Isn’t kickstarter for something special, like something new that one wants to create but needs funding? Also I imagine the movement might be Swiss, but these are probably spat out of China. It’s hard to tell because you can’t find much info on a company even tho they charge upwards of $1k on their products.
Larger watches are better for most men, when you choose to wear a watch on your right wrist, you need to wear a left- handed watch for it to look good.the new “38 mm “ trend is way too effeminate for most men. Vulgar U-Boat sized watches aren’t good, 38 mom watches are equally tasteless
It seems like it's not relevant; these guys (LIV watch co or however it is called) don't seem to mention or emphasize any swedish connection, and it doesn't look like they're based in sweden or nordic countries either. In fact, from their website, I didn't even manage to find where they are based.
Good catch! Many of our Swedish fans have noted that. it's really just about "living" - we took it from the English word "live" but it's cool how it turned out to be an actual word in Swedish ;).
Looks like a teen fashion watch to me,ugly, oversized & too brash for my tastes...& "Swiss" always just equates to "overpriced & lacking quality compared to Japanese at similar cost" to me! Kick starter watches seem like a way to loose cash quickly too....lol, enjoyed the review tho, cheers 👍
Man, .........that's the uglier of the colors! I got the blue/ orange and it kicks ass. Just ordered the Genesis P51 Pilot, looks very awesome. But I guess it's all up to preference... you can't deny that the watch is not quality, but the style is not for everyone. I'm a huge fan of unconventional watches, love me some Mr. Jones.
I got my on mad sale for 200 and if I have to be honest you did not do great job with this review. The watch is sick it has so much details it is unique. Bad things - this watch get dirty extremely easy ... extremely! And lume is not very good and it does not last very long and , as he said , is not the easiest to read
Overprice. A lot of bullshit. Mediocre style and quality. The case and straps very easy to scratch. They said you can return for 90 days but the watch must be unworn which is does not make any sense. How could you try and feel the watch without wearing it? More important things, they wont give you refund in original payment instead they will give you a store credit. That is after they questions you so many things like private investigator. So please think couple times before you plan to purchase it. And they will trick you to give 5 stars review by giving $25 coupon and will use your review to defend themselves if you have any complaint with the watch. The also will push you follow the social medias and share with friends to get more coupon. The $50 cash back they offer will be vested after 30 days after your purchase date. Lastly if you want to change the straps/bands every day it will be PITA. You will need special tools and if you are not a pro, you will ruin the watch. I prefer quick release band like what Garmin has.
Pure garbage with BS marketin. You can get much better watches from established brands with same features and better construction/components for less. Basically hyped $80 max pos.
Ok. guys. I just cracked it: The watch is "60%" Swiss, just like Tudor and other brands that go around the loopholes of the Swiss legislation for a brand to be called "Swiss Made". Spurious. The other 40% of the watch is made in ...*drumroll*....you guessed it! CHINA. Pure inflated marketing, nothing more. sorry to burst your bubble. Don't believe me? ok. So ask yourselves: Why do they ship from Miami, instead of the little town in Switzerland they say they are from? They will answer that is because they do the QA in their headquarters. REALLY? So, they make them in Switzerland, send it to the US, and then ship them back to Europe? sounds like a lot of wasted money. They are beautiful, but it's all bullshit. Pay 800 USD for a watch powered by a Chinese ETA 7750? This is basically a team of American garage band marketing dudes positioning the brand as Swiss. Sorry, Not Swiss. End of Rant.

Thanks for the review, what watch are you wearing?
Just received my watch and it's pretty damn awesom
What watch are you wearing in the beginning of the video? Around 1:00
I'm tempted by their latest GX-1 Venon Yellow watch. But I can't find it reviewed anywhere online!
Me too
@@9726pete definitely stopping me from purchasing
Nice watch thou
Just buy it. Dont be a pssy.
@@kevincoleman242 lol 😂
Ooo that was some pun ishment at the end there.
Maybe they are trying to force people to buy their replacement straps. That seems a little petty to me!😨
I got this watch from my dad and I have no idea what half of the things you said mean. Nice video!
"Come with me if you want to LIV!"
Hahaha, yeahhh. Liv it!
23 mm lug width. The watch was probably designed by the same guy who made the distance between the wheel wells on the Dodge Durango pickup truck at 45". And you get to find out in the parking lot of home depot.

The watch is very ugly, i am sorry but it hurts seriously.... Thanks Pat for your review, i always enjoy your video and your franc parler.
Of course! *Thank you* for watching.
Dear,
How to use power reserve in lIV 51???
Great Video. And I'm with you that 23m is odd. As for the design reminded me of my Citizen ProActive. I just might have to pick one up and see what's all the fuzz is about.
Amazing watch. The SBBN031 that is. Does this quartz beauty get a review soon?
Yes! Very soon. 👌 This is even better though... The watch you noticed was an *SBBN015,* the Tuna just before the current model range.
Take Time, w/Patrick Marlett
Close... I guess. Hell of a teaser anyways.
Black stainless painted dive watch? On scratch and it's in the drawer.
LIV may be a reference to LIP, which has usually abstract/minimal designs.
I wish... I do like LIP’s designs 👌 quite a lot actually.
About LIV for me I think of Law Institute of Victoria.
Great Review Patrick! Not so much for the watch.......
I just don’t feel like their prices are justifiable. Why do they need kickstarters if they’re a watch company? Isn’t kickstarter for something special, like something new that one wants to create but needs funding?

It's very nice watch. My next watch will be automatic chronograph and it will be automatic version from this watch or then Tissot PRS 516 extreme. 🤔
Just go 22 or 24, 23 is off putting, why the custom size?
Thanks for the review Patrick. This brand is definitely not for me.
Impressively
watch, thank you for showing 👍
Thanks!
53mm!!!! Thats a cruise ship on the wrist. Watches look good but way too big.
GR8 review thx again Patrick!
*Thank you* Danny. 🙏
I just got this same watch.
Love In Vision
I mean the sw movements aren’t good movements, so idk..

🤢🤮🤮hey Patrick thanks for the review.
