Hi there is air under the cement at the top of the container. You introduce it to the air of mother earth by sliding a thin metal object in the rim between the mould and set cement/ concrete. Then the item will release itself and slide out. Xxx
Seriously, that thing was STUUUCK! I'm glad it did too. Before using it again I'll probably sand down the top edge. Hopefully that helps. Thanks so much!
That's pretty amazing how you perceived a soap dish out of the bottom of that bottle - wow! Never would have guessed about the round item. The saguaros are very cute; probably a bit heavier than the plaster magnet one I've got. Well done! Hope you're garage is back together soon, too! xoxo
Thanks so much! 🥰 I've been looking at plastic containers in a whole new way since making that wall clock out of the oil pan last year. 😎 And I'm collecting so many containers now. Collecting. It's not hoarding because I plan to use it lol. xoxo
I was guessing spoon rest for the circle. I thought maybe with the cacti attached to raise spoons off the surface. But, the salt grinder rest is a great idea! And the detergent bottle had a perfect concave shape for a soap dish. Genius!
Ooh, now you've already guessed one of the next kitchen gadgets I'm planning to create - spoon rest! I have to find some food safe sealer that I don't have to buy by the gallon then it's on! I've wanted to make that soap dish since we bought that detergent... at least a year ago. I'm very patient 😆🤣 Thanks so much!
You we’re lucky not to break your piece. Next time all you have to do is pour a little hot water over the back of the plastic to create “ the effect of the plastic setting “ to remove the piece of cement from the mold.
@@CopperCactusCraftshello my mortar is really really weak. It’s premade bag 5kg. All my casts look amazing but they break and crumble like nothing. Help me pls
@Niels De Greve try adding more or less water to the mix, reinforce the concrete with rebar, or mist with water during curing. That's about all I can suggest. I'm not a concrete expert. You could watch other RUclips tutorials that can help you learn how to avoid cracks.
@@InterStellar375 so sorry but I'm not a mortar expert. And I've never used the premixed kind of any brand. My best advice is to mix from dry and mess around with your ratios until you get a mix that holds up. Best of luck experimenting!

Love the saguaro pieces. And the other 2 look very useful and well made. Glad the soap dish finally left its mold.

After you gave a hint "kitchen " my guess changed to hot pads for pots coming off the stove and ot melting plastic tablecloths.
You know the final result now, but I love this idea of making a trivet!
I guessed you are making a sunflower with a round center and petals of dimensions that gave each a personality.
I love sunflowers, this is another idea I'll have to try in the future. Thanks for all the inspo!

Have you tried using cooking spray Pam on your molds to help release?
I wouldn't use cooking spray as the oils in a food grade product might not wash away from a porous concrete surface and could go rancid over time.

Thanks for the feedback.
Coasters
One of my favorite concrete items to create.

Music is mastered too loud, I have to turn the volume up and down to hear you.
This video is a year old. Production quality has improved in a year.
Hot water releases it.
Great tip, thanks!
Pour hot water over the bottom, comes right out
Great tip, thanks so much!
