Dude, i have no idea why your procedural generated foam doesn't work, but i know what it works. the idea of making your dreams come true, keep the good work.
the foam material is using mesh distance fields, but that system only works on static meshes. The problem might be that the terrain isn't generating the mesh distance field data needed for this to work.
im not sure if you found the solution for the water yet or not. but instead of making the water check for a solid object it can collide with which is what you have now and why it worked with blocks, you need to make the material have a time varitable that just creates it without generating a check system. Landscapes in unreal engine dont act the same as basic assets which is why it doesnt work
I am not familliar with how unreal engine works, but usually shaders like that use the camera's depth texture to figure out if you are close to a surface. I would make sure that whatever material you are using on your terrain is being drawn into the depth texture. This can sometimes be affected by whether the material is set to be transparent. Again, not sure how unreal works on this since I use Unity, but figured this might be helpful.
I found out that runtime generated terrain isn't registered for the shader. I'll later on try to transform that mesh in normal terrain and then it should work
2:52 Now is the time for version control. You don't want to be at risk of losing progress over a refactor gone bad EDIT: Damn, I wrote this before I saw your next video lol
Im not sure but i feel like the frog should be smaller or the trees and everything bigger, you are playing this little frog guy. That would really help with immersion and depth for your game. Also it would allow having bosses significantly bigger than the player, which would add a lot more character to them
@@RandomIndieDevIt just depending how you see the frog. If the frog is meant to resemble an actual frog then sure but if it's meant to resemble a soldier/warrior then I think it looks alright in my opinion
Nice vid. If i may ask, where are you from? I believe english is not your native tongue, I thought you might be german. I am always interested in geography and guessing where people are from, thats why i asked
I'm not a game developer but I have grown many RUclips channels so here's some advice. I love your game, your content and all that but this video feels more boring than the others. The music stays the same, the setting stays the same and you look a bit to relaxed. I recommend showing more B-roll and changing the scene every so often as well as the music. Good luck!

yes apparently it doesn't work on procedurally generated mesh but I found a way to change it ones its spawned just gotta try it out
That day and night cycle looks really good, this game is starting to look brilliant!

1 like and I'll give 1 more flower to my mom. ❤️
the distance to nearest surface might not be working with the landscape because the landscape might have affect distance fields disabled
I checked that setting already and both enabled and disabled it and it didn't change anything
You is cool
Ngl loving this series, DONT STOP!
Make a fishing rod and put some fish in that pond + a hunger bar lol🔥
not adding a hunger bar but will be adding fishing, and as food will be for regenerating health
love the video

lets go new video keep up the good work
More to come!
The game is gonna be insane
